twenty eight - a newbie.
Dear journal,
Okay, so now I COMPLETELY agree with my last entry. I am completely and utterly obsessed with Scott Hoying and he definitely is my Justin Bieber. I sound like I'm actually insane. What if he read this? I'm sure it would end whatever the hell Scott and I have even started.

Avi did end up inviting that boy over. His name was Jackson and he was actually a really good fit to our group. He didn't attend the same high school, though, and he was a junior, which was one year younger than the rest of us, but it didn't matter that much anyway.
Jackson was super nice and not even remotely shy. As soon as he got here, he introduced himself to everybody and immediately just fit in. Also, him and Avi seemed to hit it off almost immediately. They sat near each other on the couch, when we played little games, walked near each other when ever they moved. And for the first time, I think I had actually seen Avi look...content. He was shy and nervous around him, which is something you wouldn't really expect from Avi.
Avi and Jackson sat by each other on one end of the couch, not actually touching but pretty close. On the other end, Kevin and Esther sat, hands connected. Scott sat in the recliner as I sat in between his legs. His hand sat on top of my rib cage.
"So, Jackson," Scott starts. "How're everybody at your school?" He asks. Jackson almost immediately smiled.
"Really amazing, actually," he says. "When I came out, it took everybody, like, a day to adjust, and then everything seemed to go back to normal." The whole room seemed to smile at that.
"Ya know, I can relate," Scott says. "The only thin' that's really changed for me is," he starts, lighting placing his hand over my cheek, "now I've got a boy at my side," he says, a smile plastered on his face. I looked down with a smile of my own, my cheeks a light shade of pink.
"Awww," Jackson swoons. "You two are really, really cute. How long have you been together?" He asks. Scott and I looked at each other, both of us a little panicky. It took a moment before I decided to speak.
"We actually aren't officially together," I say awkwardly. "It took this one a bit to come out, you know how that goes." Jackson nods.
"Yeah, I know. Sorry if I made things, uh, awkward," he says apologetically.
"Oh, you're fine," I say. "How could you of known, right? You've only just met us today and-" I felt a hand fly over my mouth.
"You'll get used to this," Scott says with a chuckle. "He tends to never stop talking." He removes his hands from my mouth, only to result in me turning around and smacking his chest. "Ow!" He shouts.
"You deserved it," I say with satisfaction, a smirk playing on my lips. I could almost feel Scott's head shake.
"Enough of this serious talk," Avi says, standing up. "It is time for our annual game of never have I ever!" He shouts. "But with Diet Coke, because my parents made sure to completely strip the house of any alcohol when she found out teens were coming," he says, tossing everybody red solo cups.
Scott caught mine for me, mainly because he knew it would hit me in the head if I attempted to catch it. Avi walked around the room, filling everybody's cup with the drink, taking his seat next to Jackson when he finished.
"Everyone knows the rules, right?" He asks. A chorus of 'mhmm' and 'yup' sounded throughout the room. Avi smirked. "Let's begin," he says mischievously. "Never have I ever stolen anything," he states. Everybody looked around the room. I slowly took a sip of my drink, slightly embarrassed that I was the only one. I hid my face in my hands as everybody looked at me in shock.
"I was a bad kid, okay?" I say. "I've changed, I promise," I say.
"What did you do?" Scott asks. I had just kissed the boy today, no lying to him!
"I was a sophomore back in Hollywood. This kid kept telling me that no one really cares if you took anything because it was 'only a gas station'," I say, using my fingers to represent quotations for effect. "So, long story short, I walked in, shoved a candy bar in my pants and left," I end with a shrug. A few people laughed, including Scott which made me feel relieved.
"You're so cute," Scott says. I smile. "My turn!" He shouts. "Never have I ever officially dated a guy," he says, looking to me. Jackson and Esther took a sip, which was reasonable.
"Okay, first of all, I feel personally attacked," I joke, causing Scott to laugh. "Second of all, what does this question include? I've never been in a serious relationship, but I've definitely dated guys."
"Let me rephrase," Scott says. "Never have I ever had the official title of being a 'boyfriend/girlfriend' to another guy," he says with a smirk.
"Okay, fine," I say, taking a sip of the soda. He chuckles, knowing he'd get me there. "My turn, then," I say. "Two can play at this game, Scotty," I smirk. "Never have I ever slept with a girl." Scott shakes his head and takes a sip, along with Avi and Kevin.
"Can I have a go?" Jackson says. We all nod. "Never have I ever been drunk," he says, a smile on his lips afterwards. Everyone except Jackson took a sip, a shocked look on all of our faces.
"How?" Avi asks. "Have you never been to a party?" He asks. Jackson chuckles.
"Somebody has to be the designated driver," he says with a smile. Avi shakes his head.
"Never have I ever kissed somebody in this room," Jackson says. Yet again, everyone except Jackson took a sip. Of course Kevin and Esther, but I was confused when Avi took a sip.
"Umm, Avi?!" I say. "Care to explain?" I ask. Him and Scott both laugh.
"Party, alcohol, truth or dare," he says. "Need I explain more?" I laugh and shake my head. "And your story? How come I haven't heard that you two have kissed yet?" He asks.
"Because it happened, like, an hour ago," Scott says with a chuckle. Avi shook his head.
"You fuckers really had your first kiss in a bathroom?" We both nod with a chuckle.
"Classy," Esther says.
"Never have I ever gotten a grade lower than a B," Kevin says. Everyone takes a sip with a chuckle.
"And that's Kevin, Jackson, he's practically the good boy of the group!" Scott says, causing everyone to laugh.
"I may be a good boy, but I certainly know how to party!" Kevin exclaims. Scott smiles.
"He's not wrong," Scott adds. We all chuckle.
"Never have I ever gone to a wedding," Esther says. Jackson, Avi, Kevin, and I all take sips.
"That's the most random thing I've ever heard," I say. Esther laughs.
The game continues for what felt like forever. We all played until we were too tired to even keep our eyes open. Avi had fallen asleep on the carpet, Jackson on the couch. Kevin and Esther disappeared into Avi's room, and Scott and I remained on the recliner.
We were the only two awake, quietly talking to another, trying not to laugh too loud whenever one of us made a joke.
"I wanna kiss you again," Scott whispers into my ear. "But I feel like that'd be weird in a room full of our friends," he says. I smile.
"A peck wouldn't hurt anybody, right?" I say, leaning my head back and letting Scott's soft lips lightly press to mine. He pulled away all too quickly.
"Go to bed, cutie," he says. "It's late."
