thirty three - a snapchat.
Dear journal,
So our "genius" school decided to put together a seating chart for the plane ride over. This meant that I sat next to two complete strangers, in the middle seat, of course. I tried to fall asleep, but I simply couldn't. I felt too uncomfortable. Luckily, Kirstie stayed up most of the time so I texted her a lot. Everyone had finally been situated into their hotel rooms.

"Got any fours?" Alex asks, voice tired and groggy. I shake my head quickly.
"Go fish," I answer, watching as Alex pulls a card off of the top of the small deck. He yawned, which caused me to yawn. "I think we can both agree that this is extremely boring," I say. He nods in agreement, throwing his cards on the bed. I looked at the, examine the card reading '6'. I looked back to Alex. "I asked you if you had any sixes!"
"What?" He answers. "No you didn't!" He says defensively.
"No, I definitely did," I continue. "I remember, you said 'absolutely not', and then I had to pull another card!" Alex shook his head, sitting up.
"You never even asked me-" he stopped suddenly, sighing and falling back into the slumped position he was in just a moment before. "Do you hear us?" He asks tiredly. "We're arguing over a game of Go Fish," he shakes his head. "Everyone went out tonight for their first day in England and were in bed playing a kids game." He sighs again. I quietly collected the cards and put them back in the box, setting them on the table.
"Yeah," I agree. "It would've been nice to he invited somewhere," I shake my head. "But neither of our friends are doing anything, so it's only best if we stay in, right?"
"Wrong," he replies. "Jake is out with our friend Sasha," he shakes his head. "They didn't even text me, I had to find out over snapchat," I frowned. "Have you checked Snapchat recently? I think you and I are in the same boat," he says. I furrowed my eyebrows and grabbed my phone.
I typed in my password, opening up Snapchat.
I swiped until I found Scott's story. I clicked on it once, only to see a picture of the window of the plane. I looked back at Alex.
"It's just the plane," I tell him. He shakes his head.
"You're lookin' at the wrong story," he explains. "Check Avi's," he continues. I went down to Avi's story and clicked on it. When it began to play, a picture of Scott was shown at a little coffee shop. Next to him was Kevin, a drink in both hands. A tapped on the screen for the next photo to show. The three of them had gone out to eat dinner together. I shrugged and set my phone down.
"It's fine," I lie. "It's a boys night, I guess," I respond.
"It's okay to not be okay with it. I wouldn't be either," he continues. "And aren't you a boy? Why wouldn't you be included in 'boys night'?" He asks.
"I don't know," I answer honestly. "I'm not going to start anything that shouldn't be started," I say. When I come to think of it, technically, I didn't start it. "You know what?" I start. "We're going out tonight, Alex. Make sure your phone is fully charged, we have people to piss off!" I exclaim, hopping out of bed to pick out one of my cutest outfit. I heard Alex chuckle and get out of bed.
Within a half an hour, Alex and I were leaving the hotel and heading towards a restaurant we had found online. I couldn't pronounce the name, so that meant it had to be good, right? Plus, it wasn't too expensive from what I saw.
We had called an Uber to take us to the location. We arrived shortly, both of us whipping out Snapchat and posting a picture of each other when our food had arrived.
After dinner, which apparently wasn't the best place, we walked around a little shopping plaza. We bought a few things each. I didn't expect to have so much fun with Alex, but going out as just friends was actually a blast.
We found Kirstie and Malory walking around as well, in which we joined groups together and all hung out. Both Alex and I made sure to add pictures to our story of them too.
We hung out until about 10:00 when we decided it was too late to be out at night in a town we had never been to before. He went back to our own hotel rooms. About an hour later, Alex and I were still up. We were in our own beds doing separate things, but both still up nonetheless. I open my phone to a text from Scott.
Scott: how was ur day?
Me: fine u?
Scott: it was good. what did u do today
Me: went out for a little. felt like having a girls night.
I knew it was a little petty, but whatever.
Scott: Avi is w Kevin. come see me?
Me: it's almost 11
Scott: were in England. there isn't school tmw and we don't have a bed time
Me: do u really want me to?
Scott: ofc I do.
So in about ten minutes, I was walking into Scott's embrace as he opened the door. He said Avi and Kevin stayed out a little longer when he headed back.
He pulled me onto the bed, me landing on top of him. I giggled and wrapped my arms around his chest, hugging him tightly. He kissed my head.
"Where'd you go today?" I ask him. He smiles.
"I took the boys to some coffee place I know of. It's cute. We should go before we leave," he insists. I nod. "We explored a little."
"Yeah," I replied awkwardly. "Same."
"You went out with Alex," he states tensely. "How was that?"
"It was fun," I respond. "We ate some food and went on a little shopping spree," he nods. "Bought some clothes."
"Do you have plans tomorrow?" He asks.
"We have to meet with our teachers..." I say.
"I know, cutie. That's not until, like, 2:00. Can we grab coffee in the morning?" He asks. I nod.
"Sure, we can bring the girls, and maybe Alex can come too-"
"I was thinking maybe just you and me," he interrupts.
"Don't you think our friends would want coffee too?" I ask curiously. He shrugs.
"I mean, sure, but I got coffee with Avi and Kevin today, so I figured I'd take you tomorrow," he continues.
"Yeah, but Kirstie would probably kill me if we didn't invite her to coffee," I explain with a chuckle. Scott sighs.
"I don't know if you're subtly tryin' to reject me or you're just oblivious," he says, aggravated.
"What?" I question.
"I wanted to go on a date with you, but it seems like you ain't want that, so it's fine-"
"No, wait!" I exclaim. "You want go on a date?" I ask. He nods once. "Like, a real date?" He nods again. "Why didn't you just say that?" I ask.
"I tried to," he answers.
"I didn't know you wanted to go on a date," I respond.
"Look, do you wanna go or not?" He asks.
"Of course I do."
