(Kenny McCormick) Five Queen Songs of My Life
A/n: This is probably one of the fastest I've ever typed up a oneshot. I'm quite proud of myself.
This oneshot is mainly just something for myself but I hope you all like it anyway! I love Queen and while listening to some songs, I got very inspired to write this. I recommend listening to the songs I have listed below!
Also, please don't mind the fact I'm just throwing my OCs all over the place. Whoops. They're my babies and I want them displayed on a pedestal XD Remember the Felix I wrote about in my Michael (curly goth) oneshot? The Felix in this oneshot is more like my OC. I swear, he isn't an asshole.
Anyways, here we roll. I would love it if y'all comment how I did on this particular oneshot! I feel like this is one of my best oneshots actually.

1. We Are the Champions
I grinned up at the roaring audience who cheered manically from the bleachers. I gave my all-girl band a nod as we began Halftime with our specialty. "Everyone, c'mon! Stomp your feet and clap your hands. Like this!" I announced into the microphone while stomping on the ground twice, followed with one clap. "You know it!" The South Park side of the stadium began to follow the command, making my insides feel warm from the sight. Even from behind me, the rival team's supporters, did it too.
My band began to sing in harmony to the iconic song of We Will Rock You, pumping excitement into everyone in the football stadium.
This was one of my jobs. My band and I get to perform in every home game for South Park High's football. It was such a thrilling opportunity. I'm ever so thankful for the school for giving us this actual paying job.
My band consisted with three of my gal friends. Vivian at the drums, Joney at the bass, and Malia with the main guitar. I would occasionally do keyboard but today, I didn't need it. When we started our band, it was only for fun and as tribute to one of our favorite bands, Queen. We didn't expect this whole thing to become quite popular, in our opinion. But now that we're here, we feel so grateful for the luck of it all.
The crowd screamed in glee as we finished the song. "Thank you! Now, let us continue on with game, shall we?" I said into the microphone.
The four of us rushed off the field and was greeted with the South Park football team, most we are actually friends with. "Damn, you don't disappoint, girls," Token told us with a grin.
"Thank you, we try," I smirk at the boys. "Now kick their asses out there, right?"
"After y'all's performance? I'm ready to kill it," Kenny replied. He swooped me up in his arms and twirled me around, making my heart skip a beat. "We feel so pumped, thanks."
"Alright, boys! Let's go get em!" Stan shouted, earning a round of cheers from his teams. They all hurried onto the field, ready to play and kick ass.
We lugged our instruments onto the benches and sat, ready to cheer on for our team. "Chica, you should tell Kenny how you feel," Vivian told me once we finally settled. Both Joney and Malia nodded along agreeing, followed by giggles.
I felt my face heat up at my friends' urging about my crush. "I promise y'all, he does not feel the same way."
"Now, how do you really know that? Of course, he's not going to gush about his love life to us. Maybe we can ask the guys?" Malia suggested.
"If you want, you can. I'm not going to do shit," I murmured with a huff.
"Aww, sweet pea, that's no fun!" Joney muttered as she moved her bass guitar so it leaned against the bench standing. "Look at Vivian. She ended up telling Cartman how she truly felt about him and look where she is! Happy." Joney's topaz eyes landed on the Latina with brows knitted together. "Still a surprise how that all really happened."
"Oh, shut up! It happened and it's done," Vivian snapped back with her tan cheeks brushed with pink. "But I mean, Joney's right. If I didn't take that risk, I might have never known that Eric liked me back."
"Oh? You mean your 'teddy bear?'" I teased her. Both Joney and Malia laughed along with me.
"SHUT UP. We're supposed to be talking about you!"
"And there goes Player 69 from South Park with the ball!" The announcer blabbered from the viewing room above the audience. My attention was on the field as I spot Kenny running with the ball in his toned arms.
Suddenly, as if it were in slow motion, two players from the opposing team tackled him at the same time, a crack echoing through out the field. I shot out of my seat with wide, panic-filled (e/c) eyes as I saw the referee whistle for everyone to stop.
"Oh god..." I heard Malia mutter from behind me.
People surrounded the now non-moving body on the field. Even from where I stood, I felt the heavy tension. I ran over to the growing crowd and shoved my way through the sea. I could hear my friends calling out from behind me but I didn't care. I kept going.
Once I finally made it to the center, I almost gagged. A medic was checking for a pulse of the unmoving Kenny. I bit down on my lip, hoping today would be difference than from all those other times. "... He's... The boy is dead."
I closed my eyes solemnly as I let the news sink in.
"Oh my god, they killed Kenny!"
"You bastards!!"
The crowd shuffled as some of the South Park guys went to attack the rival team for what they had done. I managed to keep myself away from the brawl, thank goodness.
The more medics came to take the dead boy away. I knelt down quickly and whispered, "I swear to god, you better be with us tomorrow, you asshole."
The two men finally took him off the field and some teachers finally stopped the fight. "Oi! Stop fighting and get back to playing, ya numbskulls!" The coach from the other school shouted at the puffing players. They stood there in silence for a good couple seconds before agreeing to the idea.
This is so typical.
I heaved out a sigh as I went back to my seat and watched the footballers continue their game as if Kenny didn't just die... Again.

2. You're My Best Friend
I knocked on the door of the McCormick house early the next morning. Ms. McCormick was the one to answer the door this time. "Oh, hello, (F/n). Kenny is just getting ready. Go ahead and come in, sweetheart," she greeted me with a warm smile. I nodded as I entered the familiar home. I sat down on their torn up couch as I waited.
"(F/n)!" I was suddenly tackled into a hug with a pair with thin arms circling my neck.
I let out a soft laugh as I ruffled the young girl's honey brown hair. "Hey, Karen! How are ya?" I asked her.
She sat down on the empty spot next to me, an adorable smile glued on her face. "I'm awesome! So, what's in the bag?" Her hazel eyes gazed to the brown, paper bag I had in my lap.
I gave her a grin and opened it. I took out one of the chocolate chip cookies I've made last night. "Here, ya go pumpkin."
She squealed happily as she took the sweet treat into her smaller hands. She bit into it and hummed in delight. "I love it! They're for big brother?"
"Yeah, they are," I answered. I took out yet another cookie and handed it to her. "Don't worry, you can have another."
"Thanks, (F/n)! You're the best," she chirped while giving me a quick hug. "Is there a reason why you always bake something for Kenny?"
... Well, I bake stuff to dwell over your brother's death and hope to god and satan that he would be here the next day... "I just really like baking, honeybun," I grinned at her.
"Mmm, is that (F/n)'s famous cookies I smell?" Kenny quipped in a dreamy state as he exited his bedroom with one strap of his backpack slung over his shoulder. "Aww, hey, the little squirt was able to get to the cookies before I did? You know what this means?" He dived onto the couch and tickled his baby sister.
"Eek! Stop Kenny, it wasn't my fault," she squealed in a middle of giggles. "(F/n) gave them to me!"
I gasped at her. "Wha? Put me under the bus, why don't ya?"
Kenny gave me a mischievous glance. "Oh? So, that means you deserve it then!" He then pinned me down on the coach and tickled my sides. One of my weaknesses!
"Ah! K-Kenny stoooop," I pleaded through tears from my laughter.
"Oh, you kids stop it. You're going to be late for school," Ms. McCormick called out to us, but a smile stayed on her lips.
Kenny finally stopped with his tickling attack and got off me, helping me onto my feet. "Ha, alright, Ma." He bent down and gave Karen a kiss on top of her head. "I'll see you later, ok squirt?"
Karen nodded. "Okie! Bye you two!" I gave the cutie pie one last hug before following my blonde friend out of the house. Side by side, we walked towards the bus stop.
Kenny munched on the cookies in joy as we strolled. The look of happiness... And life... Made my heart swell with content. "So, uh, what happened to you yesterday?" I asked him.
I want him to tell me himself that he's been dying over and over. No way I was going to bring it up.
"Oh, uh... Ya know. Got injured and couldn't be in for the rest of the game," he quickly replied.
I nodded along to his response. Is that what he seriously thought or was he lying? I'm not sure. "Oh, right. You seem fine now, at least."
"Yeah, thank god."
We make it to the bus stop with a couple minutes to spare. There, I spot all of our friends there. "Good morning, boys and girls," I greeted the six of them. They all returned their greetings.
The girls gripped my arm and pulled me away from the rest of the boys. I shot them a confused glance as they all seem to be extra excited this morning. "We asked the boys," Joney told me in a low whisper.
I scrunched my brows, more confused on what she's getting at. Vivian sighed as she added in, "We asked Eric, Kyle, and Stan if they know if Kenny likes someone or not."
"What?!" I hissed back with widened eyes. I took one fast glimpse behind me at the guys, who were all chattering with each other. I looked back at my gal friends. "Why?"
"So we can confirm to you that you have a chance with Blondie," Malia said. "They said he probably does have feelings for you."
"Probably? That's not a confirmation, that was a guess," I grumbled. I shook my head and turned away from the girls. "Nope, that doesn't do any crap for me, ok? I'm not going to confess my love if that's what I'm getting."
All three of them groaned. "Just tell him!"
"Nope." I'm going to stand my ground on this.
"Well, if you think you're so concrete about him not liking you back then, move on," Vivian suggested. Joney gasped as she smacked her arm at the idea. Vivian let out a yip from the hit and glared at our dark-skinned friend. "Ey! Perra!" She rubbed her arm. "Ok, look, chica. I know for a fact that some guys in our school want to bone you."
"Ugh, ew, Vi. C'mon now, that's not going to convince her to date different people," Malia scoffed with a disgusted look on her face. She turned her focus back on me. "Well, if you don't want to tell him your feelings, you can try this. To put Vivian's words in another way, there are other guys out there that are willing to ask you out."
I scratched the back of my head, unsure about the idea. "Look, I don't know. I'm pretty happy just being single right now..." I glanced at the boys again, I notice Kenny looking our way...
No. Not at me.
At Malia.
Yeah, right. Likes me, my ass.
...
3. Somebody To Love
After a long conversation with Vivian on our bus ride to school, I caved. Why not date around? Maybe I can get over that playboy, Kenny McCormick.
With Vivian's arm around my shoulder, she pulled me into the school with a new kind of aura to her. Determination? Possibly. She even had to tell Cartman that they can't hang out before class today since she's on a mission. I felt kind of bad of coming between the couple's time together but the Hispanic girl seemed persistent.
"(F/n)! What happened to 'I'm pretty happy being single'," Joney told me, repeating the very words I gave her in an exaggerated voice. Both her and Malia followed behind us while Vivian searched for the right boy for me to date.
"I thought about it and... I guess it wouldn't hurt." They all seemed to be experts in this field, always telling me advice of love. But none of them seem to realize that it wasn't me he was head over heels for, it was Malia, and the short gal don't seem to notice either!
I want to tell them about it but I feel too embarrassed to bring it up. What if Malia actually has feelings for him too and they start dating? I probably won't be able to handle that...
"Clyde Donovan!" Vivian said out of the blue. The three of us stared at the tan girl. "He totally has the hots for you. How about him?"
"Ugh, the school player?" Malia scoffed with crossed arms. "I dated him back in 8th grade. He's nice and all but horny."
"Ok, how about Tweek?" Vivian said. "I think I heard from Eric that he always looks your way when we're talking."
"NO," Joney interjected instantly. All our eyes then landed on her. Her freckled face blushed a bit and she waved her hands to dismiss her reaction. "Oh, uh. Not a good match."
Vivian let out a huff of frustration. She tapped her chin while thinking of more guys that could possibly want to date me. She snapped her fingers as one person came to mind. "Felix!"
"... King Douchebag?" I asked to confirm the name with the face I instantly thought of.
"Oh, yes, him. Jesus, I forgot that you guys had participated in that game in fourth grade," she muttered with a roll of her eyes. "But, yeahhh. Him. How about it? Isn't he in your third period class? You can talk to him there."
"Yeah, sure. I guess so," I replied. The bell rang above us, telling us that we have three minutes to get to our first class of the day.
Malia grabbed my arm before we could all disperse to our different classes. "Are you sure about this? Aren't you in love with Kenny?"
"Yeah, I'm sure..." A little too roughly, I tore my arm away from her grasp and walked away.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Third period rolled around quickly, my chemistry class. I sat down at my assigned seat and waited for class to start. Only a couple tables ahead of me, I spot the famous King Douchebag I remember from the Stick of Truth days. We fought for the same team and I was able to tag along with him during some missions. After the whole government chaos, a usual for South Park, neither of us talked to him. He's still one of the most popular guys in school but he barely talks to anyone.
Why would he like me?
"Ok class. We going to be mixing chemicals today and I want you all with a partner." The class cheered for the assignment. "But I will be the ones picking out your partners." Everyone groaned. "Once you know your partner, I want you to grab your aprons, goggles, the supplies you'll need for this activity and sit with your partners. After, just wait until I give further instructions." Our teacher started to read out the names on a list she seemed to have written down before class. "(F/n) (L/n) and Felix Dominguez."
Ah. So that's his last name.
Oh, wait. He's my partner? Well, this is a coincidence.
I stood up and did what the teachers told us to do. With my apron and goggles already on, i grabbed some of the supplies and ingredients we need and went over to the table Felix sat in. He was fixing his goggles so it can fit on his head better.
When his eyes fluttered over to me, I gave him a welcoming smile. "Hi, I don't know if you remember me but we kinda fought together in the KKK back in fourth grade." He gave me a nod in acknowledgement and scooted back the chair next to him for me to sit in. How sweet.
I set our stuff onto the table and I sat down. "So, how have you been through the years? Still seem to be making more friends everyday," I said, hoping to strike up a conversation with him.
I was met with silence. This was something I expected so I started shuffling the beakers around to pass time until the teacher speaks again. "I've been ok..." I swerved my head to gawk at him. "Yeah, shock that I could talk right?"
"Pretty much. Who knew King Douchebag had a voice!" We both shared a soft laugh between the two of us.
Once the teacher told us the instructions on what we had to do, Felix and I went to business while casually talking about anything that came to mind. It was nice to know that he wasn't as quiet as everyone saw him to be and, man, did he have a nice smile.
When our teacher told us it was time to clean up, that would only mean we would have five more minutes left of class and that actually saddened me. I wanted to talk to Felix a little more. "So, hey, what's your next class?" He asked me after putting away the beakers and extra ingredients we had left over.
"Umm, band practice," I answered.
"With your all-girl band?"
"That's right. We have it the same time with the school band kids but they let us practice in the auditorium," I replied.
"Oh, so that's why I never really see you around. I actually am part of band, I play both guitar and saxophone."
Mm, both very attractive sounding instruments. "That's really cool. I would kill to know how to play the sax," I admitted.
"I can play it for you some time?"
"That'd be great!" The bell finally rang to release us from class. "So, uh, since we're going to same way, want to walk together?" I offered, a blush brushing my cheeks. He gave me a smile and nodded. Together we walked out and continued talking about band.
Nearing the auditorium, we slowed down. "So, Guardians of the Galaxy is out now," Felix muttered in a quiet voice. I nodded at him to continue his sentence. "And I much rather not go see it alone."
Deciding to tease him, I said, "Ah, are you asking me out on a date, King Douchebag?"
"Actually, maybe," he murmured shyly. I didn't expect him to full out admit it but I respected him more for doing so. After all, this was what I wanted, right?
I gave his arm a light squeeze. "Yeah, sure. I'd love to."
"Wait, seriously?" He questioned me with a small smile forming on his lips. If only this boy wasn't as expressionless as Craig Tucker, even more girls would be over him with that charming smile of his. I gave him a nod. "Would you be ok with tonight at 7?"
"Sure. I'll see you later, then?"
"Yeah, I'll swing by your house."
~*~*~*~*~*~
Never in my high school life have I dreaded coming to band practice. Never ever but Vivian was making that come true right at this very moment. "OOH MAMA, I SAW YOU CHATTING IT UP WITH FELIX ON THE WAY HERE," the Hispanic girl blabbered on instead of working with her drums. This girl was too excited for my liking. She leaned in terribly close to me that I could feel her breathe against my cheek. "What did y'all talk about, huh? I saw both of you laughing and smiling on your way here."
I turned my head towards Joney, who was tuning her bass guitar. "Help me," I called out to them with a pout. Joney giggled at my trapped state. I silently cursed at her. "Look, Vi. We just talked about random things, like some television shows we like, the Stick of Truth days, our band, how he asked me out, some homework that will be due tomorrow--"
"Wait, rewind! Did you just say what I thought you said???" Vivian interrupted me with wide, hopeful eyes. I bit down on my lip and nodded. "SEE, I FLIPPING KNEW IT." She pointed over at Joney. "HAHA, IN YOUR FACES, YA HOE."
"Whoa, chill, Vi. You're starting to sound like your boyfriend," Joney chuckled behind her hand.
Vivian flipped her off before putting her attention back at me. "When's the date?"
I looked around the stage once again to try to move topics on her. "Ey, is Malia late again?" I asked the girls when I finally realized this.
The two of them looked around. "Damn, this is the third time she's been late this month," Vivian mumbled with a shake of her head in disapproval.
As if we summoned her, she ran into the auditorium in an exhausted state. She got up onto the stage with her cheeks flushed and her bag sloppily hanging off her shoulder. With a gulp, she puffed out, "I-I'm here." She threw her bag carelessly to the side of the stage and grabbed her guitar from her case. "So um, what were you guys talking about?"
"You actually," I answered her with a hand on my hip. "Where have you been?"
A small squeak escaped her lips at the question. She tucked a brunette strand of hair behind her hair and shot me an innocent smile. "I-I was held up in class."
... She's lying.
"Ok," I shrugged off as I picked up my keyboard and set it on the stand.
As I am one to not pry into people's business, Vivian was different. "Liiiiiiaaaaarr," she sang. "I bet you were with some dude." When Malia didn't say anything, we knew the real answer. "Girl, you are holding out on us! Who's the boo?"
"I-it's just Kenny, ok? He needed a favor," Malia confessed to us. I felt a pierce through my heart... Malia and Kenny were together?... Why didn't Kenny ask me for the favor? I thought we were best friends... "Can we please start practicing? We have to perform Love of my Life for the next football game for the colorguard team to dance to, right? (F/n), you've been going through with the notes on the keyboard?"
I pursed my lips and nodded at her. I tried to keep my face as expressionless as I could... Seriously, how does Craig do this thing? "Let's start..."
~*~*~*~*~*~
The rest of the day seemed to be filled with so much unneeded tension. Even at lunch, it was quieter than usual with our big group together. The only people that didn't seen to notice a thing were Vivian and Cartman, who were too engrossed into one another. Stan decided to ask us what was wrong but Malia and Kenny were quick to reply with 'nothing'. The way they both said it simultaneously got my stomach churning. They were hiding something from us and I don't like it.
Maybe... Before band practice, Kenny told her he liked her. That might be the reason for her jumpiness during practice. And if he did, maybe Malia liked him back... And maybe that's why she needed to lie because for my sake.
Whatever. If they were happy together then why should I stop them?
... I just wish that Malia would tell me about it if it was true though...
I stared at my reflection in the body mirror hanging in my bedroom. I twirled to get the back view of my outfit. I decided to try to look cute but not so much that it was overwhelming. I fixed my (h/c) hair the way I like it and smothered on a little bit of makeup. Vi will kill me for not telling her that the date was tonight but I can deal with that hothead later.
Once I felt satisfied with the way I looked, I snatched up my small bag filled with the necessities and trotted down the stairs. I quickly texted my parents that I was going out to watch a movie with my friends since they were going to come home late.
Ding, dong!
That must be Felix.
I shuffled over to the door and opened it. He wore a plaid, button down shirt along with dark jeans and black vans. Felix actually looked really good in his outfit. "Hi... You look nice," he greeted me nervously.
"Thanks, you too." I exited my house and locked the door behind me. I then shot him a weird glance. "You know where I live?"
His face flushed. "I-I just remembered from fourth grade! I promise, I don't stalk you at all."
I giggled at his flustered reaction. "Dude, chill. It's ok. I was just wondering." He let out a sigh of relief at my statement. "Now, shall we get a move on?" He nodded and offered his arm for me to link with. I gladly took it and we strolled together to the cinema while chattering along with anything that came to our minds.
With no major long lines, Felix and I bought our tickets and snacks and entered the theater in a matter of a few minutes. We settled into seats in the very middle of the theater.
Everything was smooth sailing. I'm actually enjoying myself on this date. Maybe this wasn't a horrible idea after all.
"Hey, don't mind me, ok? I'm going to go to the little girl's room," I whispered to Felix. I must've drank too much soda.
"Whaaa, in a middle of a movie?" He asked me with a surprised tone.
"Sorry if my bladder says otherwise," I chuckled while standing up a bit. "Clue me in later."
"Yeah, sure."
With that, I stealthily exited the theater. I used the restroom and left. No way I was going to waste anytime missing more of that movie.
Then... I stopped dead in my tracks.
Nearby the concession stand, there they were, smiling. Kenny and Malia.
They were deep into conversation so they didn't even bother looking up to see me. I couldn't help it, I was close to tears. I ran back into the restroom and into one of the unoccupied stalls and let myself cry.
Malia was one of my closest friends and she just stabbed me in the back. I have never felt so betrayed in my life. Here I was, trying to move on from the guy I have fallen in love with but found myself still in love with him. I don't even know what to feel right now. It felt like my heart was being stomped on over and over...
I thought I could trust both Malia and Kenny.
I guess, I can't.
I left the stall and went to the sinks once the tears have stopped. I splashed some cold water on my face and wiped away the running makeup. Thank goodness no one else bothered to have a tinkle break...
Knock, knock. "Uh... (F/n)?" Felix's voice muffled from the other side of the door. "A-are you ok? You've been here for about twenty minutes."
Twenty minutes? Did I really take that long?
I checked myself on the mirror before walking over to the door. Before opening it, I asked him with a stutter, "I-Is Kenny and Malia still out there?"
"Uh, no, they're not. They just went into a theater showing a romance movie," he answered back.
A romance movie? Fan-fucking-tastic.
I cautiously slipped out of the restroom while scanning the area just in case. "O-oh, god. Are you ok?" I must still look like shit. "... Would you like to go home?"
"N-no, it's ok. We should just go back to the movie."
"... It should be over by now."
"Oh." A tremendous wave of guilt flowed over me for making him miss the ending of the movie. "I'm so sorry." I buried my face into my hands and heaved out a breath. "I am so so so SO sorry."
I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder. "Hey, c'mon, let's walk on home."
We were greeted by the brisk cold of the night as we exited the cinema. In comfortable silence, we walked through town to get home. "... (F/n), if you were still in love with Kenny, why did you agree to this date?"
The question sent shock throughout my whole body. I stopped dead on my tracks, to be more specific, right in front of the playground. Dread rained over me. Here was Felix being the nicest guy ever on one of the greatest dates I've ever been on by far, as here I was being a complete asshole using him in hopes to get over Kenny McCormick. "I... I just wanted to get over him," I admitted. "Am I really that obvious?..."
"Yeah, you are," Felix sighed. He stretched his arms up to the starry skies. "It doesn't take too much to figure out."
"God damn it. I am REALLY sorry. I probably just ruined this date for being such a dumbass and everything..." I can feel it, I was about to cry once again.
Felix engulfed me into a tight hug, something that was very much needed. "(F/n), honestly, this has been fun. It's ok. I'm ok with just being friends with you."
God, what a chain of events this has been. He liked me, I liked Kenny, Kenny liked Malia and she liked him back.
He rubbed my back in gentle circles. "You should go talk to your friend... It seems to me there's something you need to get off your chest and you need the closure."
"Are you talking about Malia or Kenny?" I muffled out a question into his shoulder.
"Both of them. I know that you may seem scared right now but all of you need the truth and clarity of things. As soon as you can, you need to talk to them. If not all together then individually." He pulled away and wiped the streaming tears off my cheeks with his thumbs. "If you don't do anything, you're only going to suffer more by each passing minute. I'd rather not let that happen to a beautiful girl like yourself."
I grinned up at him. "Yeah, ok. Thank you, Felix." I stood onto my tiptoes and pressed my lips onto his cheek. "I'll do that. And thank you for being so kind and understanding."
"It's no problem..." A chilly wind brushed against us. "Brr, c'mon. Let's go. It's getting too cold." I agreed and we went on our way.

4. I Want to Break Free
I woke up the next morning by my phone buzzing abruptly. I rubbed my eyes and let out a long yawn. I quickly snatched up my phone and checked the text message I had just received. It was a group message for me, Joney, Vivian, and... Malia.
Malia was even the one that sent this very early text.
"Hey, mornin girlies! Head over to my place with your instruments at around noon :D We need to get a practicing for the upcoming football game," she had texted us. This message just seemed to cheery for my tastes. Not only because I'm not in good terms with her but also it's just so damn early.
I glanced over at my alarm clock that stood on top of my drawer next to my bed. 11:00 a.m.
Seriously?! I've been losing track of time lately...
I hopped out of bed and started to get ready on this bright Saturday morning. I packed up my keyboard and its stand into the case and rushed out the door with a couple minutes until it's noon.
The garage of Malia's house was already wide open. Inside, I see Malia's guitars, acoustic and electric, lying against the wall and some snacks for us to nibble on a foldable table. The very girl exited the garage door with a cooler filled with all of our favorite drinks. "Ah! Hello, (F/n), sweetie pie!" She greeted me in an overly cheery tone. I slightly cringed at it but a shot her a weak smile. I set down my case and started to set up my keyboard.
"Hello, gals!" Joney quipped as she entered the garage with her bass guitar strapped across her chest.
"Hey, hey Joney Bo Boney!" Malia greeted her.
"My, ain't someone in a really good mood!" Joney laughed as she gently set down her bass guitar.
"Yes! I am actually," the brunette girl chirped. "There is actually something I want to tell y'all. And when I mean, y'all, I meant everyone."
"Like in also the boys?"
"Yup-a-roony!" Oh god, Kenny's going to be here too? "I think they're coming a little later so I'll have to wait to tell y'all when they come."
"What? Laaaaame," Joney huffed with a smile. Just a moment later, Vivian drove up onto the driveway. (She doesn't own the car. It's her mother's, as to why she takes the bus on her way to school.) "Well, well, well, a certain someone is late."
From the trunk of her car, she took out her drums. "Oh shut it, Jones. I'm here, aren't I?" Vivian snapped back at her.
"Wow, ones in a really good mood and the other is in a really bad mood. Why is that?" Joney asked her once she dropped off her things.
"I just didn't get a lot of sleep. You know how I am when I don't have enough sleep," she grumbled out in reply.
"And why didn't you get enough sleep?" Malia asked.
"... I was with Eric last night," she mumbled out with her face burning.
Despite how I was currently feeling, I smirked over at her. "What? You two do it?"
"(F/N)! NO, WE DIDN'T," she screeched. All three of us bursted out into boisterous laughter. Wow, this feels good. "LET'S GODDAMN PRACTICE."
Just as we finished setting up, I began playing the beginning of the Queen song, Love of My Life.
Softly, I sang, "Love of my life you hurt me,
You broken my heart and now you leave me.
Love of my life can't you see,
Bring it back, bring it back,
Don't take it away from me, because you don't know, what it means to me."
I saw the boys enter the garage. This didn't stop any of us. We continued on with the song.
In that moment, I could feel the intense sadness in this song. In a way, I felt like they were just for me.
I closed my eyes and continued while playing the keyboard by memory, "Love of my life don't leave me,
You've taken my love, you now desert me,
Love of my life can't you see,
Bring it back, bring it back,
Don't take it away from me because you don't know what it means to me.
You will remember -
When this is blown over
And everything's all by the way -
When I grow older
I will be there at your side to remind you how I still love you - I still love you.
Back - hurry back,
Please, bring it back home to me, because you don't know what it means to me -
Love of my life
Love of my life..."
We ended the song with a four part harmony and Malia strumming along to her acoustic guitar.
We received an applause from our only audience. "Wow... I really felt that," Stan muttered with a supportive grin. "It makes me want to call Wendy and tell her I love her."
"Not right now, lover boy!" Malia proclaimed as she set down her guitar on the table next to her. "I have an announcement to make!" What I didn't expect was for her to grab onto Kyle's hand... "Ok, guy's, don't be too weirded out by this but..." She let out a sigh. "Kyle and I have been dating this whole time!"
Wait what?
"What?! Since when?" Vivian boomed in shock. Yeah, this I need to know! Everyone seemed shocked except for...
"Well, it's been about a month," Kyle answered sheepishly. He glanced over at Malia and she shot him a smile, in which he returned. "We kept it a secret from everyone because we didn't know how this relationship would go at first. We wanted to try it out and needless to say... I am very happy with Malia. Also, a few people in this group would probably want to use this info against me and tell my parents, since they might flip if they knew."
"Wait, are you talking about me?!" Both Cartman and Vivian questioned him.
"Anyway... We wanted to finally tell you guys," Malia finished for Kyle.
"Psh, would y'all have told us if I haven't caught y'all redhanded making out in a deserted classroom?" Kenny snickered lightly with crossed arms. The new couple's faces burned with embarrassment that got the rest of us chuckling. "Everyone should thank me for this discovery!"
"Shut up, dude. We were going to tell y'all eventually," Kyle uttered while scratching the back of his neck.
"Mmhm. Yeah right! I think I need to rub my eyes with alcohol from seeing you two getting it down and dirty in that classroom."
"KENNY."
"Haha, sorry. But, oi! Congrats to another happy couple within our group!" Kenny announced. We all clapped for the two.
This whole time, I have been horribly wrong. While I always thought Kenny was the oblivious one, I was oblivious myself. It all made sense when memories of the two of them always standing together when we're in our big group, the two of them always whispering to one another, and just how they've always been so close. It all makes sense.
I mentally facepalmed myself.
...
For the rest of that afternoon, we practiced more on Queen songs and hung out all together. Slowly, I was starting to feel like myself again. Felix's advice from yesterday lingered in my mind. Should I still talk to Malia and Kenny when they had all officially said something that were far from my guesses?
"So, hey, (F/n). Was there something you should be telling us?" Kyle asked my out loud suddenly. All attention were all now on me.
I was in the middle of stuffing my face with cheesy poofs so I had to sputter out a "What?"
"Yesterday, when I was on my way to the cinema to meet up with Malia, I saw you and Felix leaving, looking a bit close. Are you two dating now?" Kyle explained. From the corner of my eye, I saw Kenny leave the garage.
"YOUR DATE WAS YESTERDAY?" Vivian shouted while in the arms of her boyfriend.
I didn't answer either of them as my only priority at the moment was the parka-wearing boy that rushed out. I followed after him and saw him a couple houses down. He was squatting on the sidewalk, bending over and his hands running through his golden locks. "Kenny!" I called out as I neared him.
He quickly stood up when he spotted me next to him. His usual beautiful, bright blue eyes were filled with so many emotions. I stared at him, confused as to why he was feeling this way. "So, uh, you and Felix, huh?" He said, his voice cracking.
"Kenny?..." I repeated myself. The blonde boy look so broken down that it made my heart shatter.
"I-I'm too late, right?"
"K-Kenny, what are you talking about?" I stammered out.
He gulped. "(F/n)... I just want you happy, ok? The happiest you can ever be. If you are happiest with Felix then I shouldn't be in the way and ruin anything." Why does this sound familiar?... Wait a minute, that sounded just like me when I had to force myself to accept him and Malia... WAIT.
"Kenny..." I murmured in both shock and awe.
"(F/n) (L/n), I love you. I have loved you since I don't know how long ago. But, I damn sure know I am," he confessed, misty eyed. "I love the way your hair shines in the sunlight, I love how your beautiful (e/c) eyes seem to twinkle when your happy, I love your angelic voice when you sing and whenever you talk to me, I love how you're also so close to my family and how you care so much for my sister as much as I do. You're the one that makes me want to wake up every morning and sleep every night in hopes that in my dreams, I can have you as mine... Every time I die, I picture you in my mind to remind myself that it's ok to be alive because I have you..."
"Y-you said it," I stammered out in surprise. Kenny said himself that he dies... I'm not going crazy. "You said you die... Meaning that you've died multiple times before. I'm not going insane, you actually did die all those times before."
Kenny gawked at me for a good minute. "You remember?"
I nodded my head, my own tears streaming down my cheeks. "Y-you just died during the football game last week when those two guys from the rival team collided into you and it snapped your spinal cord..." I pushed away that horrible memory along with the other deaths that replayed in my mind.
"You remember!" His hands reached out for me but he held it back.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and grabbed onto both sides of his hood to pull his face towards mine. Our lips collided, setting off an amazing tingling sensation through my whole body. When I pulled away, I whispered to him, "I love you too, ya dork." With that, he wrapped his arms around my waist and gave me an affectionate hug in which I gladly returned, nuzzling my face into the crook of his neck. "Now, stop dying on me, ok? I don't know how much more I can take of it."
I can feel his chest move by his laugh. "I'll try, (F/n)," he replied before kissing my forehead.
"I MUTHAFUCKIN TOLD YOU TELL HIM, DIDN'T I?"
"Oh my god, Vi. You ruined the moment!"
"AY PAPI. Did you just smack me again, bitch?"
"What if I did?"
"Joney, Vi, seriously, this is probably not the best time." Kenny and I glanced behind us and saw all six of their heads popping out from Malia's garage. Each of them pulled away and disappeared into the garage once again.
"Our friends are weird," I sighed. I grabbed onto his hand and we began to walk back to the house, until I was suddenly jerked back. I glimpsed back at Kenny and saw him turning green.
"... I-I guess I'll just see you tomorrow then? Don't forget," He muttered out. Before I can ask what he meant by that, he puked... Blood, guts, and poptarts. He fell over on the ground dead, leaving me numb from what just happened.
But... This curse of his... It'll bring him back. And I don't know how he feels about it but I'm thankful. If the first time he ever died, and he actually stayed dead, where would I be today? Forever in a state of depression, crying about how I should have told him my feelings when I had the chance?
For now, I turned away and walked back to Malia's home. This was the usual... This was South Park, after all.
5. Too Much Love Will Kill You
(Quite literally)
Bonus: Kenny doesn't like me singing 'Who Wants to Live Forever' when he's around...
