Chapter 7
Willow woke up in a hospital bed; she looked around her touching her head she felt out of place.
"Where am I?" she whispered looking around her, Ryker was there along with her grandmother, the dean, and another girl she didn't know.
"What happened?" she questioned again.
"My child you woke up! Don't exhaust yourself, my baby." Her grandma ran towards her trying to help her into a comfortable position.
"You are in a hospital obviously, and ask yourself what happened. We are trapped in this because of your recklessness." Spoke an angry Ryker.
"Ryker, leave her be, the girl blacked out from shock and you still have the heart to scold her?" lectured the dean.
"How are you willow?" asked a soft voice, Willow figured it should be the beautiful girl standing next to the dean.
"I have a terrible headache." She groaned in pain.
"I'll call for the nurse to give you painkillers, just a moment." She responded.
"Grandma." Whispered Willow.
"Yes, baby?"
"I'm sorry." She started crying, Willow for the first time in her life felt like a burden on her grandmother's shoulders.
"Shht... Don't cry my child, you don't have to apologize you did nothing wrong." Spoke the old woman playing with her grandchild's hair.
"Miss Willow, do not cry, it will add to your headache." Advised the dean while Ryker sat there neutral, he had no pity whatsoever on the girl his father imposed on him.
Willow gave a meek nod before the nurse came in along with the other girl, injecting a liquid in her arm.
"You can leave whenever you feel better miss." Informed; the smiling nurse before leaving the vast VIP room.
"It might be the wrong time right now but I'm Beth Hendrix, this is my husband David and that guy there happens to be my younger brother."
"Nice to meet you, I'm sorry for the inconvenience." Spoke a polite Willow.
"You're surprising me Willow, how could you go from sassy and strong-headed to meek and polite." Smirked; a fuming Ryker.
"My child knows very well how to behave it just depends on who's around, so you should ask yourself, Mr. Hendrix." Spoke a now annoyed grandmother.
"Anyway, I'm leaving."
"Where to?" Asked Beth.
"I have a party to attend, you don't think I'll behave like a husband now huh?" he questioned waiting for her response when she shrugged he left towards the parking lot.
Beth sat down next to her husband, as the grandmother took a seat next to Willow on the hospital bed.
"Grandma, I have to tell you something. You have to come with me tomorrow, I..."
"She already knows miss Willow, Mr. Hendrix informed her before leaving this afternoon when we brought you here." Spoke a concerned David.
"Do you think I have a way out of this chaos?" Asked a hopeful Willow.
"Mr. Hendrix is adamant, I wish I could help but I believe he has a deeper motive behind his decision. Something we all don't know yet." Informed the dean.
Waking up in her bed, Willow cried in frustration. Her life has always been under her control, Now this wealthy old man is imposing a new life on her, a new responsibility.
With great difficulty she decided to freshen up and get ready for her morning lecture. Although, she didn't know what consequences awaited her education she still wanted to make the best of what's left.
Her phone rang, Mike was calling. Willow groaned throwing the device away from her reach.
Breathing in, Willow decided to handle the day with grace. Her grandmother offered to drive her and meet the so-called Mr. Hendrix at once. There should be a solution for sure.
Showing her grandmother the dean's office, Willow greeted him and proceeded walking towards her lecture.
"Girl what happened, Mike and I bombarded your phone with calls. Tell me are you fine?" asked a considered Dina.
"Uh... Nothing happened; they might withdraw the scholarship, Dina." Informed a sad Willow, she didn't want to share details with her friend for she didn't know what's going to happen.
If she doesn't go their way and they ban her from education it will be near impossible to continue her education, not only would she lose a year, other universities are not as prestigious as hers and they wouldn't offer any scholarship for a student who got kicked out for violence. So long story short her future depended on her scholarship and their decision.
Later after her lecture Willow came face to face with Ryker, sending a glare towards her he walked away with his friend Alex. She received a message from her grandmother to join her at the dean's office and so she complied. Before she could reach the doorknob a hand engulfing her waist stopped her.
Startled Willow jumped back trying to get away from the unwanted arm she ended up tripping and falling behind hitting a broad well-muscled chest. She quickly gathered herself turning around when that same arm backed her against the nearest wall.
"I don't know what sick game my father is playing imposing such a brat on my life, but if all your fainting and tears are to mask the fact that you are with him in this. Trust me I'll make your life a living hell." He whispered in her ear as she tried backing away as much as given.
Willow was never a scared kitten, in fact, she was totally the opposite but with her lack of experience around men, one-touch would get her to cower miles away and Ryker was catching on to that. Shrinking she tried to get as small as possible for the sake of not touching the man trapping her like a mouse.
"Do you think I want this? First off, let go I don't like strangers touching me." Before she could continue he interfered "Come on now future wife, it's only a matter of time until we're not strangers anymore." He whispered the last part putting a strand of hair behind her ear. Willow closed her eyes shut in disgust, as much as the guy in front of her screamed handsome and wealthy she didn't want to be touched, especially not by a person who didn't know his way home at night. God knows what he does party twenty-four hours a week. Seeing her reaction Ryker figured the best way to tease the tiny girl who brought all of this chaos upon him.
"I have a suggestion though." He continued getting away from her and leaving her space to breathe air instead of his mouthwatering perfume.
"Which is?" She asked desperately.
"I will give you enough money to enroll in another university, that way no wedding no responsibilities and you get to finish your education." He explained.
"What's the price of your mercy?" She asked sarcastically.
"You spend one night with me. Then, I don't want to see your face around. I will deal with my fath-"Before he got to finish his sentence she attempted to slap him yet to her dismay he caught her wrist none so gently in his much bigger hand.
"Not twice Willow." He smirked before groaning in pain as he held his private parts, his face turning red.
"I bet you didn't see that coming." She smirked in triumph.
Crouching next to him she started "How many times shall I warn you, Ryker. I'm not your puppet will never be and I'd rather lose my education over having an affair with you."
Hearing the commotion the dean ran outside along with the grandmother and Mr. Damon Hendrix.
"This time he really deserved it." She commented in panic raising her hands in peace.
"I can't believe these kids." Whispered Mr. Damon.
"Come in and take a seat." Ordered the dean; getting a nod from a complying Willow and glare from Ryker not directed to him but the girl who succeeded in getting him on his knees right in front of his father.
"What happened now?" asked a concerned grandmother.
"Grandma Feline, this guy is shameless that's what happened." She spoke glaring at him as she crossed her arms under her chest.
"We concluded with your grandmother. You're not losing your scholarship." Informed; Mr. Damon.
"What's in return Mr. Hendrix?" asked a restless Willow.
"You are to be my son's bride on paper this weekend until we hold a ceremony during the next midterm holidays." He explained further.
"G...Grandma!!" exclaimed a now panicked Willow. She felt her world get darker, her dreams crash and the worst feeling was that she felt alone in this.
Feline looked away tears gathering in her eyes, she didn't want to give her child to this family but deeper secrets were to be revealed and none of them were ready and so she complied with the man's request to protect her dear grandchild from things worse than the loss of a mere scholarship.
"She's not going to faint on us again? Is she?" asked a slightly concerned Ryker.
