I was flipping through the pages of a comic that I picked up on my way home when suddenly the front door unlocked and in walked Seokjin with the biggest smile on his face.

"Oh?" I pushed myself up into a sitting position on the couch. "You're home early."

"Mmmh," Seokjin kicked off his shoes and entered the lounge, coming up behind the couch before bending down and placing a gentle peck on my forehead. "Happy third anniversary, Jisoo."

My eyes immediately widened and I scrambled to my feet. "Oh my god, I totally forgot! Jin, I'm so sorry--"

"I figured as much but there's no need to worry and make a fuss about it," Seokjin chuckled. "I know how busy you're with work, especially since it's barely been two months since (G)I-dle debuted and the promotions are still going on."

"But Jin," I pouted and walked forward to give him a tight hug. "I'm still so sorry, I should've kept track of it. Happy anniversary."

Despite us being in an arranged marriage, we both knew there was no way of getting out of it so we came to an agreement to fake it til we make it. And since then we've just started to do the normal thing couples did, anniversaries, dates, etc. We were comfortable with each other, sharing kisses, hugs and even cuddles but we've never made a move to cross the line.

"Psst, guess what I got you?" Seokjin whispered in my ear, pulling away from the hug so he could see my face.

I blinked curiously as he dug his hand into the inner pocket of his overcoat and pulled out a rectangular shape box. He slid open the top and tilted it to show me.

"Ta da~" He cheered in a cute way.

"Oh my god..." My eyes rounded in awe as I stared at the red ruby necklace that laid in the comforts of the box. "Seokjin, it's beautiful."

He grinned at my speechless state before closing the lid over it. "I knew you'd like it, here, it's now yours."

He placed the box in the palm of my hand and kissed the top of my forehead, once again. "I'll get dinner started--"

"N-no wait!" I hopped off the couch, the rectangular box being discarded as I made my way behind Seokjin who was already in the kitchen. "I'll make dinner this time, it's the least I can do. I promise I'll make it up to you soon."

Seokjin shook his head with a little chuckle. "You don't have to worry about making it up to me but I will hold you up for the dinner. It's been a while since I tasted your cooking."

I usher him to go take a bath before huffing out as I stood in the middle of the kitchen, alone. I felt that guilty feeling in me starting to take large bites at me, making me feel even more terrible.

I shook my head and tried to get rid of the feeling by humming and reaching for an apron. It was time to start preparing dinner.

I was midway cooking when Seokjin arrived from his bath and this time, he wrapped his arms around me from behind as I made the stir fry dish. His body was warmer than usual because of the hot water he was just in and the fresh scent of his shampoo was more distinctive than before.

"How's work?" I asked, trying to make conversation while ignoring the fact that his body was pressed against my back.

He hummed in response before replying that it was still the same. His hot breath had hit the side of my neck along with mild vibrations and I've never wanted to pry his body away from mine more than now.

It felt uncomfortable but I thought against the urge and nodded my head in response. I never really felt uncomfortable around Seokjin before, I mean, I have at the beginning but overtime I grew used to him.

So it was surprise to me too that my body was reacting in a different way to his touches and presence.

"Did you put salt?" He asked.

"Yep, that's like the main thing."

"Did you use butter or olive oil?"

"I used olive oil, is that a problem?"

He shook his head, the tip of his nose brushing against the back of my ear as he did so. I felt a shiver raise up my spine and I bit my bottom lip to stop myself from shuddering.

"It's gonna burn," He said and that's when I realised that I had spaced out for a few seconds. I moved the stir fry a little more around the pan before taking it off. "I think you need to let it cook more."

"Hmm?" I glanced at the stir fry that I left aside and frowned. "Why? It's already well cooked."

"Okay." Was all he said in return.

My frown deepened but I didn't say anything and tried making my way towards the rice cooker. Fortunately for me, Seokjin had retracted his arms around me and stood nearby a counter, watching me.

I began to take out the side dishes we had and seperate them into bowls and saucers but once again, Seokjin decided to say something and disturb me.

"Do you think the kimchi is okay to eat?" He asked, coming round the table and peeking at it.

"My mother just gave it to me yesterday, I'm pretty sure it's good," I reassured him with a thang of annoyance. "She made it especially for us."

"I see."

I narrowed my eyes at him but didn't say anything about it, instead I asked him to help set the table. I wasn't sure if he was in a bad mood because of me forgetting our anniversary and I didn't want to say anything because it was my fault.

"Do you wanna watch a movie together, after dinner?" Seokjin asked as we both sat down to eat, a childish glint in his eyes.

"A movie?" It's been so long since we did something together, even if it was just watching a movie at home. "Yes, of course! Do you have anything in mind?"

He merely shrugs.

And like that, dinner had passed and movie time had arrived. I was bringing out a hot bowl of freshly popped popcorn to the lounge where I spotted Seokjin scrolling through Netflix with a bored expression.

"Found anything worthy?" I questioned and hopped next to him.

"Nothing so far," Seokjin said picking up a popped kernel and placing it in his mouth. "I swear, these movie descriptions will be way better if it were written by Wattpad fanfic writers."

I snorted. "With a lot of angst, I suppose."

He was about to reply when one of our phones began to ring. Looking around, Seokjin found his phone on the coffee table.

"Not mine." He said.

I glanced back at the kitchen and realised it could only be mine. The placed the popcorn bowl aside and made my way to the kitchen counter as fast as I could before the ringing could stop.

"Hello!" I greeted the other person on the line. I picked it so fast that I wasn't able to see who the caller was.

"Jisoo~ I hope you didn't forget that we made a promise about a night out, today! Do you want me to pick you up or—"

"Lisa," I began, cutting the excited girl's sentence. I glanced back at the lounge and immediately found Seokjin's eyes on me. "I'm extreme sorry, I don't think I can make it tonight."

"Huh? What?" I could definitely feel the disappointment in her voice, through the phone. Gosh, how did I even forget the promise to hang out tonight with Lisa?! What's wrong with me, today?

"It's..." I locked eye contact with him again as I spoke with Lisa. "... Seokjin and I's anniversary, today. I totally slipped my mind and I forgot to tell you."

"Oh,"

Jisoo felt as if Lisa had stabbed her with a knife to her heart and she vice versa.

"I guess there's no choice then, I'll see you next time."

"Lisa—" I began but got cut off by Seokjin who was approaching me.

"Why don't you just go enjoy yourself?" He said gesturing with a jerk of his chin to the phone. "It sounds like you had plans, go ahead."

"But Seokjin," I stared at him in shock. Was he really telling me to leave him on our anniversary? "I can't do that—"

"Go have fun, Jisoo," He pushed on. "We don't even have a clue on what movie to watch plus I was getting a bit sleepy. Just go and have fun, you need some fresh air."

"I..." I stared at Seokjin in total silence for a while that I almost forgot Lisa was on the other line until she spoke.

"So what's it gonna be, Jichu?" Lisa dared and Jisoo knew the girl was smirking. "You coming?"

"Uh, I," I watched as Seokjin mouthed a 'go abead' to me. "Yeah, I'll join you."

"Great! I'll pick you up in a few minutes!"

As the line went silent, I then removed the phone from my ear and asked Seokjin again if he was okay with this. He just brushed it off with a sweet smile.

"Go get ready." He said in the end.

I smiled and pecked his cheek before running off to get changed. I really needed to make today up to him but it was hard to do so when we're both busy almost every day. I threw a coat over my clothes began to make my way to him.

Maybe if he was free one of the days, then I could take an off day as well?

"Jin—"

"You're still here?" He questioned with annoyance as he looked over his shoulder at me. I stopped in my tracks and stared at him.

"Uh, yeah, I just wanted to ask if you're going to have a day off one of the days?" I said, fiddling with the sleeve of my coat.

Seokjin simply shrugs before turning his attention back to his phone. "I don't know."

That was some useful information.

"I'll be going now." I nodded and began to make my way to the front door when his voice once again, stopped me.

"If you really cared about forgetting our anniversary, you would've cancelled your plans." He said bluntly from the lounge.

I gaped at nothing in particular before twirling around to face him. "That's exactly what I intended to do but you said I should go?!"

Seokjin shrugged, appearing uninterested in the conversation. He was mad about something, and me forgetting our anniversary was definitely one of those things. Biting my bottom lip, I turned back to the front door and twisted open the handle.

But I didn't leave until I got the last say in this. "I don't see why it's bothering you so much. We both know we have no feelings, whatsoever for each other so don't get your panties in a twist."

And with that, I left and closed the door behind me. I breathed out heavily before deciding to actually make my way outside. I tried erasing my thoughts and guilty feelings within me before I could meet up with Lisa.

So there I stood, alone in the elevator doing a breathing exercise.

Leaving your fiance on your anniversary to hang out with a girl that you've kissed more than once?

I was totally at fault here, wasn't I?
