The song isn't too bad nor is it too horrible. Is there an in between for this ???

The concept/story he is telling is clearly showing pain & wanting to be ready to move on from that pain. He constantly brings up wanting to smile when he is ready.

He also mentions not wanting to be  taken over by dark feelings.

The part that is realistic, but scary about moving on is this from the lyrics, "by my hands it ends now."
