Crooked Wings
Your eyes on fire,
Were the only things I hunger for.
Your love and desire,
Leave me desperately wanting more.
Your looks so divine,
Gives me thirst nothing could quench.
I need no water nor wine,
For your lips pushed me off the trench.
I would trade all tomorrows,
For a yesterday with your love.
I'll endure all the sorrows,
Of not reaching the heavens above.
Your lies have compelled me,
To dive to the abyss for you.
Though I'm not numb to cruelty,
Nor immune to wrath and pain too.
I've been to hell and back,
To face the devil or so they called.
Then I stopped on my track,
Gazed on a beauty I was never told.
But now I've began to see,
Things that I couldn't before,
You were staring straight at me,
I saw no demon nor terror.
I knew you were an angel,
Who just happened to fall.
People just can't pray tell,
How to fix a broken soul.
I've seen your eyes glow,
This time it wasn't the fire.
It was plainly the sorrow,
Of our forsaken desire.
Things would get a little better,
After I've mend your crooked wings.
I watched you ascend higher,
But you gave me misery that stings.
