"why did you tell me him?!" mattias shouts through elena's phone as the loced up black male keeps looking outside his window. 

"it was an accident!" y/n exclaims as her and elena walk over to his house. "i'm sorry! i didn't think it was that deep,"

"why doesn't he like his middle name?" elena asks her boyfriend, tucking her mousy brown hair behind her ear. 

"well, you know the character marco diaz from star versus the forces of evil?"

"uh huh,"

"yes...?"

"i always teased him that they were the same person," mattias says with a cheeky voice. elena rolls her eyes at her boyfriends behaviour as y/n sniffles a laugh. "and he said he'd kill me if anyone found out that was his middle name,"

"so we're preparing a grave?" elena asks as y/n gives her a look. "what?"

"elena!" mattias whines, before spotting nicholas walking to his front door. "he's here, i'm going to die! elena, if you have kids, name them after me. y/n makes sure elena lives a good and healthy live,"

"you're not dying, mattias," elena says as they turn left on the path towards mattias' house. they see nicholas in his puffer jacket and a black beanie on his head. "nic! let him go!" elena shouts, making the spanish male turn around slightly. 

"didn't even touch him yet," nicholas says, looking back at the two girls. 

"nic, te amo. vas a ser mi padrino. no me mates," mattias says through the door and elena's phone. y/n tries not to laugh but she can't help it. this is so silly. "please?"

"if anyone else finds out, bro," nicholas says, making mattias sigh out in relief. he opens his house door, ending the call with his girlfriend. "was this pay back for telling elena-"

"ferme ta bouche!"

"nic, your hair!" y/n says as the two friends walk away from mattias' house. the male had taken off his beanie and instead of his bleached curls, his hair is dark brown and they look a bit more healthy.  "you dyed it!"

elena wanted some alone time with mattias and that's something y/n and nicholas can completely understand. 

"yeah, blond isn't really my thing," he shrugs, stuffing his beanie into the pockets of his puffer jacket. cold air comes from his mouth as he sighs out. "you know," nicholas starts. y/n hums to show she is listening to him. "i haven't found my soulmate,"

"i know," she also knows where this conversation is going. 

"i'm just saying," they stop at a crossing, waiting for the traffic lights to go red. ninjago is still covered with frost. and even though ice is a hassle sometimes, it's quite pretty to look at. "don't stop your life just because he's rejecting you," absentmindedly, y/n pulls down the sleeve of her dark grey jacket. it was her mothers. it has stars on it. "i mean, you're y/n l/n. you could have anyone you want,"

but she wants lloyd. 

"i know," she mumbles as they start to cross the road. "i'll just bury myself in revision, saikor," starting her relationship with her dad again. "cheer, my driving lessons and maybe get a new hobby,"

"a hobby?"

"yeah," y/n shrugs. "i still need to finish my ucas and i have no hobbies,"

"i mean," nicholas says, moving his head from side to side. "you're the mayor's daughter,"

"not a hobby,"

"an influencer?"

"more like a chore than a hobby," y/n says as they start at a convenience store. she needs some sugar. 

"learn the flamenco," nicholas says, reaching for a bag of crisps. y/n makes a face, looking him in confusion. 

"the what?"

"the flamenco," he repeats slower. "i'm taking lessons and you can take them with me. it'll be your new hobby,"

"so more dancing?" y/n laughs, waving at a younger boy who waves at her shyly. nicholas shrugs, going in line to the queue. y/n hums, following. why not?
