Adrien's world came crashing down.

Break up with Kagami?

Kagami, the only person who he had loved after Ladybug?

The only person who loved the real him, and not his fame?

He had to break up with her?

Why?

Questions flooded his head, only to be confronted with the horrible conclusion he had drawn from his father's speech.

Tears welled up in his eyes and he tried very hard to suppress them somewhere deep inside, to not show it to his father.

He controlled his expression, and showed his best fake model smile to Father, "I understand."

Adrien walked towards his room. Suddenly he stopped, as if he had remembered something, and he turned around to face Gabriel, tears streaming down his cheeks and said in a voice too soft to be intimidating,"Mr. Agreste, now I understand why mom left us, she couldn't stand you and your materialistic behaviour. I... hate you too, Sir," he dryly chuckled to himself. "It doesn't mean anything to you anyway. However, good night Mr. Agreste."

Gabriel's fists clenched behind his back, out of Adrien's sight, looking at the emotionless face of his son. Adrien stumbled to his room, walking like a lifeless doll.

Gabriel Agreste murmured, "Sorry son. But I have to do this. I will do whatever it takes to bring Emilie back. You'll understand me one day too. "

Adrien threw himself in the bed and started crying.

Plagg, for once, was at the loss of words. He didn't knew what to do except murmuring, "It's going to be okay, kid " for a few times. He wished Tikki was here. She knew exactly what to say everytime...

Adrien whimpered, "Why does it happens to only me Plagg? Why? I have tried so hard to move on from Ladybug and finally, I had someone I cared about. Then, just because of sales drop in his stupid company,I have to give up everything. Why Plagg?! Why can't I live a normal life? And...and I don't even know how I'll tell her tomorrow. She'll be heartbroken." He broke out in tears once again.

Plagg hurriedly said to him,"Kid, I'm really sorry about this. But you have to control yourself. Or else, you'll be akumatized and we don't want that."

Adrien breathed in and out deeply for a few times. He stared out of the window, "Yeah. Thanks Plagg. I think I'll visit Marinette. She'll probably cheer me up. "

"Plagg, claws out!" With a flash of green light he transformed into Chat Noir. He jumped out of his window, towards the Dupain Cheng Bakery.

Luka strummed a soft melody on his guitar as he watched Marinette, who was doing her homework with a frown etched on her face. Marinette furiously scribbled on her notebook for a few more minutes before exclaiming," All done. "

Luka smiled at the ecstatic girl.

Marinette kept her books away and sat down beside Luka. He leaned over the guitar and planted a kiss on her red lips. She blushed furiously and looked away. Luka moved the guitar away from his lap and inched closer to Marinette. He tilted her chin towards him with his hand and captured her lips in a passionate kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tugged him even closer. She ran her hand through his teal coloured hair when—
Tap-tap-tap!!!

Someone knocked at her window. She adjusted her clothes and opened it, revealing Chat Noir, his eyes filled with tears, even though he had that famous cheshire grin plastered on his face.

Marinette was surprised but invited him in. Luka greeted Chat with concern in his face. Chat's face fell seeing Luka there. What was he doing in HIS princess's room this late?

He could clearly see Marinette and Luka's faces identically flushed, their clothes disheveled and their hair messier than usual. He wondered what had happened in this room before he arrived and the feelings he had from those thoughts were not happy at all. His entire being exuded hostility towards Luka.

Marinette didn't notice this and she asked softly,"Chat, what happened?"

Chat Noir looked at Luka squarely who got the signal and turned around to leave, "Marinette, you talk. It's getting late anyway. I have to go. You have school tomorrow. Bonne Nuit, sweetheart."

Marinette kissed him and bid him goodnight. He picked his guitar up and waved at Chat before leaving. The superhero didn't respond.

Marinette sat down on the bed and looked at him questioningly. Chat Noir tried to form his feelings into words. When he failed, he looked up at her soft baby blue eyes, and all his defenses came down crashing. Tears spilled from his emerald eyes and dropped on the bedsheet. Marinette didn't say anything, just simply wrapped him in a hug.

Chat hugged her tighter, his body shaking with pain. He didn't want to let her go and she made no effort to free herself. She whispered over and over again,"I'm sorry, Chat. I'm sorry for what happened to you."

Her kind words only made him cry more and he couldn't do anything else than just nodding his head. When he calmed down quite a bit, she smiled at him,"Hey, let's go to the balcony for some air, okay? "

He nodded weakly. They stood side by side, the Eiffel Tower visible at a distance.

After a few moments of silence, Chat Noir said, looking at the landscape ahead of them," Thanks princess. You really helped me today."

She smiled, "Anything for my paw-some and purrr-fect fur-iend."

He laughed, "Really princess? Three puns in a row? "

She laughed along,"I kind of like them now. You grew on me. "

Silence.

Chat said, "I kind of envy you."

Marinette was surprised,"Envy? Me?"

He replied, "Yeah... You have a beautiful family. My mom left us when I was young. And my father...well, my father doesn't care about me at all. He treats me like his employee. And today, because of financial reasons, he wants me to break up with my girlfriend -"

Marinette gasped, "Wai-wait. You have a girlfriend? Didn't you have a crush on Ladybug? "

The black cat answered, "Yeah, I had...But she didn't love me. So, I moved on. And I realized that I loved another girl too. So.. Yeah.. "

He trailed off.

Marinette comforted him, "It's going to be alright, Chat. I'm sure she'll understand. Now do me a favor and don't get akumatized, hmm? "

He smiled, "Worried about me, huh purrincess?"

Marinette slapped his shoulder playfully," You're making puns. You're totally fine now. "

Chat Noir suddenly turned serious and took her hand. He lightly brushed his lips on her fingers and gently licked her ring finger with his tongue.

She shivered and pulled her hand back. He laughed out at the sight of the blushing girl and said sorry though he didn't regret it a bit.

Marinette punched him and he kept laughing. He leaned in to whisper in her ear," Purrincess, did you like it?"

Marinette blushed as red as a tomato and furiously shook her head. He laughed again.

Chat Noir kissed her forehead and bid her goodbye. He jumped away. She stared at the direction he went.

Tikki came up and asked her, "Marinette, why are you blushing like that? Did Luka text you something romantic?"

Marinette remembered her boyfriend and pushed those strange feelings down. Chat Noir was... flirty with literally EVERYONE! 'He was just doing the same with me,' she convinced herself. Luka is the perfect man for her and she won't let a flirty pun-loving masked superhero destroy their beautiful relationship.
