Chapter 1
"Sakura! Wake up, you're going to be late!" Pink haired girl shot up, her emerald orbs widened in alarm.
"Mom.... What's the time?" She slurs, looking at the blond woman through her pink lashes.
Mebuki signed, "It's almost 7:30," her eyes caught the sight of marks on her daughter's sides as she stretched, causing the shirt to rise up.
Sakura rubbed her eyes and saw her mother looking at her with sympathetic eyes, "Mom?" Her voice was didn't hid the confusion.
"Did you experienced something...." She trailed off.
"Did I experienced what?" Her eyes widened in excitement, "Are you going to tell me about my birthmarks? You always tell me that you will when I'm older." She didn't noticed that her mother's eyes saddened.
"Let's talk about it when you come back from the academy, alright?" She kissed her daughter's forehead, "Be strong, sweetheart." And left.
Sakura rubbed her eyes, "I can't believe that I'm finally graduating," her eyes shined in wonder, "I wish that I'm on Sasuke-kun's team." She squealed quietly.
She quickly got ready. As she walked downstairs, she heard her parents talking in hushed tone.
Giving into the curiosity, she stood behind the door, listening.
"You can't hide her away forever, mebuki." She heard heard her father say.
"Yes, I can." Was her mother's stubborn reply
She heard her father sigh. She could imagine the tired expression on his face, "They would find her. You know they would."
' Who would find who?' Inner asked.
'Don't know. Now shhhh.' She thought.
Her mother scoffed, "So what do you want me to do? Huh? Abandon her? She's our daughter, Kizashi! How can just say that. My poor girl doesn't even know what those marks symbolize." She peeped in the kitchen and saw her mother panting. Her face was scrunched up and she look like she's about to cry.
'What the hell is going on, outer? What does those marks mean anyways?'
'No idea. But mom did say that she'll tell us after we come from academy.' Sakura replied. She could mentally feel inner nodding.
She watched as her father got up and embraced her mother, "Never." Her father reassured, "We'll never abandon her. But she deserves to know. She needs to be ready for what is about to happen in her life." Kizashi rubbed his wife's back.
'Please tell me that it's not 'the talk'?' Inner shivered in fright.
'No. They already given that. Plus, why would they abandon me over it?' Sakura rolled her eyes.
'Thank god.' Inner sagged in relief.
"I'll tell her." She breathed in defeat, "I'll tell her when she returns."
Sakura decided to make herself known. She thumped on the hardwood floor, imitating her footsteps. And opened the door.
As expected, her parents smiled at her like they weren't talking about her a minute ago.
"Morning, peanut." Her dad said in a cheerful tone.
She plastered a convincing smile, Morning, papa. What were you guys talking about?" She feigned innocence.
Sakura pretended, she didn't noticed the panicked look her parents shot each other.
"Nothing really. I just made a hilarious pun but of course my awesome sense of humor was lost on her." Kizashi laughed nervously.
Her mother also started chuckle, "Yes, you know how bad his puns are."
'Suree...' Inner drawled sarcastically.
Sakura decided to let go of the subject, "I do. Anyways, I'm so excited for team selection. Speaking of which, it's almost time." She got up.
"What about your breakfast?" Mebuki questioned.
Sakura shot her a quick smile, "I'm on a diet. Ja na!" With that she ran out.
She was walking to the academy, when she saw Ino leaving her house. Sakura narrowed her eyes at Ino as she spot her.
"Good morning, Sakura." Ino sneered.
"Good morning, Ino." Sakura sneered back.
Without an other word, Sakura walk past her. Ino walked faster.
"What a surprise. They let you graduate..."
Sakura bristled, "Those classes are history. We're both ninjas now and we're both equal. I won't loose to you."
"Hah! Say that when Sasuke-kun would confess to me." She flipped her ponytail and gave a haughty look.
Sakura felt a snarl ripped through her. She clenched her fist, her freshly painted nails digging in her palms.
"Like hell he'll do it." With that she walk past her.
As she walked in the classroom, she felt her heart flutter. Suddenly, she felt an immense burning on either sides. She felt nauseous. Her hand covering her mouth, she ran out of the classroom and past Ino, straight to the bathroom.
Flipping the toilet seat, she threw up. After finishing up, She flushed the toilet and rinse her mouth.
"What the hell?" She said weakly. She walked out, going to sick bay.
The medic-nin gasped as she saw paled Sakura. She quickly helped her sit down.
"What happened?"
Sakura shook her head, "I felt nauseous and my stomach is hurting."
The medic gave a small smile, "I see. Can you please go to the bathroom and check something usual?" The girl nodded and limped inside.
After a minute or so, the door opened and came out Sakura who was now ghostly pale.
"I'm bleeding." The medic nodded and helped her.
"Sit down, Sweetie. Now listen carefully. It's normal."
The medic-nin explained Sakura about the monthly cycle and supplied her the needed equipment.
Sakura rubbed her aching legs and limped to the classroom. But as soon as she opened the door, Her eyes widened at the sight. Before her was Her beloved Sasuke-kun and Class clown Naruto was in lip lock.
Silence.
Then shrieking everywhere.
Both of her marks tingled. Her blood boiled as she saw Ino sitting with Sasuke. Ignoring the tingling, she stomped the seat. She grabbed the still gapping Yamanaka and forcefully pulled her out the seat before sitting down.
Ino shrieked, "What the hell, forehead?!"
Now all the attention was on her. Including all the jounin who were watching this from Hokage tower.
Ino glared, "Get off from my seat. Now!"
Sakura growled, "You're seat?" She got up grab Ino's collar, "They're mine." She hissed.
Ino gasp at her rival. Her eyes were darkened. Possessiveness were gleaming, "S-Sakura?" She asked hesitantly. Her Rival wasn't being herself, it's like she's possessed or something.
"Sakura, you're hurting me." She whimpered as her grip tightened.
As if a whiplash, Sakura let go of Ino, Staring at her with wide eyes, "Oh my god! Ino, I'm so sorry." She covered her mouth with both of her hands.
"I-I don't know what came over me. I swear I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm so sorry." She breathed out. She looked like a lost child, who has no idea what's happening.
Without a second word, She sat down. The Uchiha was looking as surprise as the rest of the class.
Meanwhile, in the Hokage's office Asuma whistled, "Damn... That was some possessiveness she got for Uchiha...."
Kurenai elbowed him in the stomach, "Shhh.." She whispered, secretly glancing at Hiruzen Sarutobi who looked pretty deep in thought.
"That's pretty unusual for Young Sakura to react that way." He mumbled, narrowing his eyes.
Kakashi gave a nervous laugh, "Doubt it, Hokage-sama. She's a fangirl and let me tell you that Fangirls know no boundaries." Behind him Genma and Asuma shivered. Being ANBU captain and Hokage's son is not that easy.
Back to the class, everyone stared at Sakura. Poor girl just hid her face in her arms to avoid the unwanted attention she was receiving.
'I can't believe I did that to Ino-pig...' She thought miserably.
The door opened and Iruka barged in, holding a piece of paper. He stopped at his desk and cleared his throat, "From today, you all are ninjas. All of you will be assign a three man squad. Now. I'll tell you your placement so listen carefully.." He began listing.
"Team 7, Haruno Sakura.." Sakura perked up, listening eagerly, "...Uzumaki Naruto.." She turned to her left, Naruto grinning at her. Something unusual happened, instead of feeling annoyed she felt happy. The mark on her right side tingled in pleasure. Nonetheless, She scowled at the blond causing him to stopped smiling.
"...And lastly, Uchiha Sasuke...." Iruka finished. A large smile bloomed on Sakura's face and she tuned out the rest.
'True love always wins, Cha!' Inner fist pumped. Sakura sneaked a glance from the stoic ninja. He merely acknowledged her and keep staring ahead with a blank expression.
Finally Iruka announced the lunch break and left the room with the children. Sakura waited by the door for the the dark haired boy. Naruto grinned as he spotted his pink headed crush and ran to her.
"Hey, Sakura-chan...um...I was thinking...If you want to have lunch with me..." He blushed, "Since we're on the same team and all." He added quickly.
Sakura was about to berate him but stopped. She thought for a second than said, '"Kay," His azure eyes lit up, "But. we'll invite Sasuke-kun too. Plus it's only fair because he's also our teammate." His smile fell.
"But why, Sakura-chan? He's always a stuck up bas-" His whine stopped halfway as he saw the murderous glare Sakura sent to his way.
He gave a nervous laugh, "Sure, Sakura-chan. Let's invite him too."
Sakura went to look for the Uchiha as Naruto trailed after her with a puppy. Luckily, they found him sitting on the stairs. Sakura skipped towards him,
"Hey, Sasuke-kun. Mind if we sit down with you?" She asked politely.
Sasuke analysed her for a short moment fore went back to his eating, "Hn."
Sakura gave Naruto a hard look and motioned him to sit down. The blonde pouted but obliged anyway. She too propped down to the other side of Uchiha and opened her bentou, which contains purely salad.
Suddenly, Naruto stiffened. He closed his eyes and sniffed in air. His blonde hair whipped as he snapped her head towards Sakura.
"Sakura-chan, you're hurt." He stated, looking at the pinkette with serious look.
Sakura stopped chewing on the carrot and gave Naruto a weird look, "No, I'm not."
Naruto shook his, his blonde hair whipped as he did, "I smell blood."
Realization drawn to Sakura. She felt heat rising to her cheeks. Even Sasuke had stopped eating and was looking at her expectedly.
Swallowing thickly she answered, "I cut my finger." Naruto blinked.
"Oh, Is your finger okay?" He asked giving her a innocent smile.
Sasuke 'tched' and started eating again. Sakura gave Naruto a hesitant nod
Sakura wiggled slightly to get comfortable. She briefly bumped her knee to Sasuke's. She yelped as her left side tingled.
Her yelped caught the boys' attention.
"Damn these marks..." She grumbled under her breath, then snapped her mouth shut, hoping no one heard her. Unfortunately, Both did.
"What mark?" Asked Naruto.
Sakura cursed inwardly. She quickly glared at him, "What are talking about?" She snapped.
Naruto's face fell and she felt the tingle again, but this time, the right side. Sakura hissed.
"Stopped that!" She growled at the blonde.
He gave her look resembling a kicked puppy, "What do you mean, sakura-chan? You're behaving really strange, 'ttebayo!".
Sasuke was looking at Sakura with alarm, "Sakura?" His voice calm.
The pinkette jumped, clearly not expecting her crush to speak to her. She blushed, "Y-yes Sasuke-kun?" She asked shyly.
"What marks?" He asked. Sakura's eyes widened.
"W-what marks? I don't know what are you talking about..." She laughed nervously.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed, "Don't lie." His cold voice made her flinch.
Naruto watched her flinch and decided to intervene, "That's enough, Teme!"
Sasuke turned his glare on him, "Stay out of it." Then turned to Sakura, "Talk."
Sakura gulped, "I-I-I.... I h-had some b-birth marks...Since I was born." She quickly blurted.
Naruto grinned, "Really? I have one too! It look like a flower. It's a bit girly though." He exclaimed.
The onigiri slipped from Sasuke's hand as he paled. His eyes were wide as he stared between his two teammates.
"Naruto!" Sasuke hissed.
"Wha....?"
Sasuke stood up and grasped his collar, "A word..." He dragged the blond before stopping and turn to the gapping female.
"Don't move." He warned. Then proceeded to drag the blond away.
Sakura blinked.
