Y/N's secret

Y/N's P.O.V

I walked into the cafeteria and joined the lunch queue behind Allison and a guy. Allison spotted me and smiled.

"Y/N, hey." She spoke.

"Hey." I spoke. She smiled before grabbing the guy in front of her.

"This is Scott, my boyfriend, and hopefully your new friend." She chuckled.

"It's nice to meet you. Y/N, right?" he asked.

"That's the one. Nice to meet you too." I smiled. He returned it as we got our food and went to sit down. Scott sat next to the boy who had been looking at me in the library.

"Um, Scott." Allison chuckled awkwardly.

"Yeah?" he asked, looking up at us.

"Do you want to maybe sit next to me?" she asked, looking between me and the boy. His eyes widened slightly and he nodded.

"Oh, yeah, my bad." He chuckled, sliding his tray so that it was opposite the other boy's. Allison smiled at me as she put her tray next to his, leaving the seat next to the boy for me. I put the tray down, making the boy look at me. His eyes widened, his mouth stuffed with curly fries. I smiled at him as I sat down. He tried to smile but it was difficult with the fries. I chuckled at him as he quickly chewed, washing it down with water.

"Hey, I'm Y/N." I spoke.

"Stiles, nice to meet you." He smiled.

"Stiles? That's your name?" I asked. He paused.

"Well, no, but no one can pronounce my real name." he chuckled.

"What is it?" I asked. He opened his mouth to speak before squinting his eyes and shaking his head.

"It's odd...and very long, confusing, unpronounceable, and Polish." He nodded. I laughed, making him smile. I looked at him, only just noticing how beautiful his eyes were. They were a gorgeous whiskey colour and seemed to shine brighter than anything that I'd ever seen before.

"So, Y/N." my trance was broken by Allison starting to speak. I looked at her, though sensing that Stiles still looking at me.

"Yeah." I smiled.

"Where you from?" she asked.

"Well, originally I'm from England but then my parents moved us to New York when I was two, so I hardly remember." I shrugged.

"You're British? That's so cool." Stiles chuckled.

"Thanks." I smiled.

~One month later~

The bell rang as I walked into the class and looked around for a spare seat. I'd been here for a month now but I was only just starting proper classes. I smiled as I saw Allison and Scott sitting next to each other, with Lydia behind Allison, Isaac behind Scott and Stiles in front of Scott with a spare seat next to him. His eyes widened as he saw me.

"Is this seat taken?" I asked, pointing to the empty desk.

"No, no, not at all, as long as you don't mind sitting next to one-hundred and forty-seven pounds of pale skin, bones and sarcasm." He nodded. I laughed at what he'd said, making him smile as I sat next to him. I opened my book, a blush forming on my cheeks as I could see Stiles looking at me out of the corner of my eye.

"Crap, I forgot my pencil." I sighed.

"I've got a spare." Scott nodded before digging it out. I reached behind me as Scott leant forward, the pencil in his hand. Our fingers brushed each other, making my eyes widen as I saw a sea of red eyes and claws, some ripping people apart, others defeating other werewolves. I gasped as I dropped the pencil, making them all look at me with wide eyes.

"You okay?" Stiles mumbled, looking at me with a concerned look in his eyes. I gulped, trying to think of an excuse as I bent down and picked up the pencil.

"I got an electric shock." I lied, my cheeks burning before I glued my eyes to the page and refused to look up as I ran a hand through my hair. I took a deep breath as I heard Scott whisper something to Stiles. Stiles looked at him before slowly turning to face me again. I kept my eyes glued to my page, not wanting to explain what had just happened.

Stiles's P.O.V

The bell rang as Stiles got his stuff out for economics. He looked up and his eyes widened as Y/N had walked in, her gorgeous curls bouncing slightly. His throat dried as he skimmed his eyes up and down her body. The dress that she was wearing looked perfect against her skin and her thigh-high boots made her look incredible. She looked at him before glancing at the spare desk next to him.

"Is this seat taken?" she asked, pointing to the empty desk.

"No, no, not at all, as long as you don't mind sitting next to one-hundred and forty-seven pounds of pale skin, bones and sarcasm." He nodded. Y/N laughed at what he'd said, making him smile as she sat next to him. Her laugh was like music to his ears, and was sweet like honey, matching her smile. Stiles watched as she opened her book, hoping to god that she couldn't see him staring.

"Crap, I forgot my pencil." She sighed.

"I've got a spare." Scott nodded before digging it out. Stiles looked at his notes as Scott leant forward, the pencil in his hand. Suddenly, Y/N gasped as she dropped the pencil, making Stiles jolt his head to look at her.

"You okay?" he mumbled, looking into his stunning hazel orbs. Y/N gulped as she bent down and picked up the pencil.

"I got an electric shock." She nodded, her cheeks burning before she glued her eyes to her book. He studied her carefully, not convinced.

"Stiles." Scott whispered, tapping him on the shoulder. Stiles turned around to face him and raised his eyebrows, hinting for him to continue.

"There was no electric shock. That was her." He whispered. Stiles's eyebrows furrowed as he looked back at Y/N. He nodded at Scott before turning back around in his seat and gulping as he looked at her.

Y/N's P.O.V

The bell rang, signalling the end of class as I gathered up my stuff and shoved it into my bag.

"Y/N." Stiles spoke. I looked up at him.

"Yeah?" I prompted.

"Can I speak to you for a sec?" he asked.

"Sure." I nodded. He gave me a small smile as he followed me out of the classroom and led me to the side. My eyebrows furrowed as Allison, Lydia, Scott and Isaac assembled a little further down the corridor, as if they were listening in to what we were saying. I brushed it off as Stiles started to talk.

"Are you sure that you're okay? You got pretty jumped when Scott handed you his pencil." He spoke, looking at me with those damned eyes.

"I'm fine. I told you, it was just an electric shock." I shrugged, sticking to the lie. He sighed.

"You see, the thing is that usually both people experience an electric shock, but Scott was fine." He spoke, looking at me as if he knew what I was hiding. I gulped, trying to think of something.

"I don't...maybe he's just less jumpy than I am." I nodded. Stiles looked at me, still knowing that something was wrong before sighing again and running a hand through his hair.

"That must be it." He nodded. I returned it.

"I've got to go, I don't have a free period. See you at lunch?" I asked hopefully. He gave me a small smile.

"Course you will." He reassured. I smiled before walking off, taking a deep breath as I felt Stiles still watching me.

Stiles's P.O.V

Stiles sighed as Y/N walked away from him.

"Goddammit." He mumbled, running his hand through his hair again before walking to the others.

"So?" Scott asked. Stiles squinted his eyes.

"You're seriously telling me that that was the one time you didn't use your wolf hearing?" Stiles scoffed.

"I wouldn't want anyone listening to mine and Allison's conversations." He shrugged.

"Y/N and I aren't together." He spoke.

"Yet." Lydia mumbled. Stiles rolled his eyes.

"Anyway, what did she say?" Isaac asked.

"Oh my god, you didn't use it either? What is the point of having werewolves for best friends if you can't listen in to conversations-."

"Stiles." They all cut him off, making him groan.

"Fine. She insisted that what she felt was an electric shock and justified Scott not feeling it as just her being more jumpy." He spoke.

"And you don't believe her." Scott stated. Stiles sighed and looked down.

"No. I don't. After her and Scott touched, her eyes were filled with what I can only describe as, I don' know, pure fear." He mumbled, looking at them.

"Maybe she knows what Scott is then." Isaac replied.

"So, what? She's another supernatural creature?" Allison asked.

"If she is, what is she?" Isaac seconded.

"A banshee maybe? Lydia?" Stiles questioned, looking at her. She shook her head.

"I would know if she was a banshee. I can sense that she's something but...I can't sense what." She admitted. Stiles's eyebrows furrowed.

"I thought that you could sense every supernatural creature and what they were." He stated.

"So did I." she nodded.

"So, maybe she's something, like, super rare? Something so rare that even a banshee can't recognise it." Scott nodded.

"Is there even such a thing?" Isaac scoffed.

"Whatever it is, we need to find out. Because that's what Y/N is." Stiles spoke. Lydia's eyes widened.

"I think that I've got an idea." She spoke, making everyone look at her.

"Which is? Because I'd really like to know if I've got a crush on yet another supernatural being." Stiles groaned. Everyone looked at him.

"Did I just admit that out loud?" he gulped.

"Yeah. You did." Scott chuckled, making Stiles sigh and drop his head.

"Anyway, my suggestion is that we somehow get her to touch me. If she reacts, we'll know what sets her off and maybe that'll help us figure out what she is." Lydia spoke.

"Or we could just ask her." Isaac shrugged. They all looked at him.

"Dude, what have we told you about putting forward your ideas? Don't." Stiles scoffed.

"What's wrong with asking her?" he retaliated.

"We could freak her out if she doesn't know what she is, she could never talk to us again, not to mention that if she isn't what we think she is, we've just exposed her to a world which is pretty freaking crap to be in." Stiles snapped.

"Look, she's going to find out anyway, especially if you like her. You're just scared that she'll be freaked out by what you're asking." Isaac spat.

"Well I thought that that went without saying, but clearly not." Stiles shrugged, squinting his eyes.

"Can you two stop for a moment so that we can decide what to do?" Allison asked.

"Okay. Hands up for Lydia's plan of getting Y/N to touch her and see if she reacts." Stiles spoke, raising his hand along with Lydia, Allison and Scott.

"Okay. Hands up for Isaac's monumentally stupid idea of just asking her." He shrugged. Isaac looked around as his hand slowly went up.

"That's settled, Lydia's plan it is." Stiles nodded.
