Y/N comes back
Stiles slumped into school and looked around. He sighed as he couldn't see Scott, only Lydia. She gave him a small smile as he walked towards her before opening his locker.
"You okay, hun?" she asked.
"No. I can't get that dream out of my head." He sighed.
"Did she say anything in it?" Lydia asked.
"Yeah. She said that everything would become clear soon, whatever the hell that means." He scoffed.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out." She nodded.
"I don't know, Lydia. I have no clue what to do." Stiles sighed.
"Oh my god." Lydia whispered.
"What?" he asked, looking at her. She nodded towards the entrance of the school, making Stiles look that way. His eyes widened as he saw her. The doors shut behind Y/N as she slowly walked in. His throat dried as he let out a breath. She looked incredible, even better than she'd looked the night she had left. She'd cut her hair so that it hovered above her shoulders but it still curled in a way that perfectly framed her face. It was now red, telling him that she had dyed it. He snapped out of it and suddenly felt rage growing in his stomach.
"No." he mumbled before storming towards her. He saw her gulp as he approached her.
"Hey-."
"Don't." he scoffed as he grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the doors.
Y/N's P.O.V
I walked into school and looked around. I gulped as everyone stopped their conversations and just stared at me, several eyes widening. I looked over the sea of people for Stiles. I felt my heart drop to my feet as I saw him. His eyes were also wide as he skimmed his eyes up and down me, checking out what had changed. My stomach dropped as I saw his eyes go dark. He said something to Lydia before storming towards me, making me gulp.
"Hey-."
"Don't." he scoffed before grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the building. He pulled me to his jeep and stood in front of me.
"What the hell are you doing here?" he asked.
"It's my home-."
"Your home? You've been gone for nine months, this is not your home." He scoffed, squinting his eyes at me. I sighed.
"I came back for you." I admitted, looking at him. He looked at me.
"Don't lie to me." He shook his head.
"I'm not, we both know you'd be able to feel it if I was lying." I scoffed. He returned it and shook his head.
"Come on." He mumbled, opening the passenger door to his jeep. I looked at him.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To the police station. You've been missing for nine months, presumed dead for eight. I need to tell my dad that you're alive." He mumbled. I sighed and nodded before climbing in. Stiles slammed the door behind me, making me jump. He climbed in next to me and put the key in the ignition before trying to start the jeep. His jaw clenched as it wouldn't start.
"Come on." He mumbled, turning the key again.
"Start, you piece of crap." He spat, turning the key yet again.
"Goddammit!" He yelled, hammering his palm against the steering wheel.
"Hey." I spoke, placing my hand over his. He flinched away immediately, moving his hand as he looked at me.
"Stiles." I choked. He sighed and looked down.
"I'm sorry. It's just...never mind." He shook his head before turning the key again, this time making the jeep start.
Stiles and I walked into the police station and looked around. He took my arm before walking to his dad's office and opening the door. He led us in before shutting it.
"I know but-." Stilinski turned around and his eyes widened as he saw me. He looked at Stiles, who nodded.
"I'm sorry, I'm going to have to call you back, something big has just come up. Okay, bye." He nodded before hanging up the phone. He looked between me and Stiles. His gaze settled on Stiles.
"So, you can resurrect the dead now? Zombies are a thing?" he scoffed.
"Dad." Stiles groaned.
"I was never dead." I stated, making Stiles and his dad look at me.
"Where the hell were you then?" Stilinski scoffed.
"Yeah, that's what I wanted to know too." Stiles nodded, looking at me as he crossed his arms over his chest. I sighed.
"You both know that I've been struggling to control my...abilities...since I found out that I had them. I heard about this, I don't know, elder korrigan, something like that. Anyway, she's been teaching korrigans to control their powers for centuries, so I thought I'd give it a shot." I smiled sheepishly. Stiles narrowed his eyes at me as Stilinski looked at him.
"You believe her?" Stilinski asked. Stiles sighed, looking at me for a moment longer before looking at his dad.
"I don't see why it wouldn't be true. We've dealt with things scarier and weirder than an elder korrigan." He scoffed before looking back at me.
"Also, I'd like to think that after all this time, she still wouldn't lie to me." He spoke, staring into my eyes with his beautiful whiskey ones.
"You'd be able to feel it if I was and you know it." I stated. He sighed.
"But, why did you just leave? Why didn't you tell someone where you were going, why didn't you at least tell me?" he asked, his voice wavering slightly. I sighed.
"This korrigan technically doesn't exist. She's been living off the grid for hundreds of years, and she wants it to stay that way. So, the one rule she has is that if you're going to her, you can't tell anyone, you can't say anything, you can't do anything that will lead someone to her." I explained.
"This is starting to sound hard to believe." Stilinski sighed. I looked at Stiles to see him still staring at me.
"Well, dad, you better believe it, because it's true. I can feel it." He nodded, making me give him a small smile. Stilinski sighed and ran his hands over his face.
"Okay, well, your parents are out of town, so you can't go home yet. I guess you're staying with us." He nodded, making Stiles look at him.
"What?" he scoffed.
"Stiles, I can't just let her sleep on the street, I doubt she has any money. You guys used to date, it'll be fine." He shrugged. Stiles narrowed his eyes at his dad before looking at me.
"Y/N, could you please wait outside for a sec?" he asked.
"Um, sure." I nodded slowly before opening the door and walking out.
Stiles's P.O.V
"This is starting to sound hard to believe." Stilinski sighed. Stiles continued to stare into Y/N's gorgeous eyes, searching for any hint that she wasn't telling the truth. He couldn't find it.
"Well, dad, you better believe it, because it's true. I can feel it." He nodded, making her give him a small smile. Stilinski sighed and ran his hands over his face.
"Okay, well, your parents are out of town so you can't go home yet. I guess you're staying with us." He nodded, making Stiles look at him as his heart started to race.
"What?" he scoffed.
"Stiles, I can't just let her sleep on the streets, I doubt she has any money. You guys used to date, it'll be fine." He shrugged. Stiles narrowed his eyes at his dad as he felt his heart drop to his feet before he looked at Y/N.
"Y/N, could you please wait outside for a sec?" he asked.
"Um, sure." She nodded slowly before opening the door and walking out.
"Dad, "used to" is the key part in that sentence." He spat.
"I don't see the issue here." Stilinski sighed.
"The issue is that she left me, dad. She left me to think she was dead and that I'd never see her again. Now she's back, and she's only shown the tiniest shred of remorse." He scoffed.
"Isn't all that matters the fact that you still love her?" he asked. Stiles gulped and his eyes wavered.
"How do you know that?" he mumbled.
"It's obvious in the way that you look at her. It's obvious, because everyone can tell that you're beyond angry at her, yet you can't hate her for what she did, you can't look at her with hate or anger, because you still look at her like she's the best thing to have ever happened to you. That's love, son." He nodded. Stiles sighed.
"I wish it wasn't. Love is what ripped my heart out nine months ago." He mumbled before leaving the office.
Y/N's P.O.V
Stiles let us into his house and tossed his keys into the bowl on the table by the door before rushing up the stairs. I gulped as I slowly followed him. He was beyond angry at me, I could feel it. I headed up the stairs and into his room to see him tossing his bag onto the floor and pulling off his jeans before replacing them with jogging bottoms.
"Um, Stiles, I don't have anything to wear." I spoke, fiddling with my hands. He looked at me and sighed as he walked to his drawer and opened it. He grabbed a random T-shirt before handing it to me.
"Thanks." I gave him a small smile. He returned it half-heartedly before opening his wardrobe as I pulled my jeans and top off and replaced them with Stiles's T-shirt. I took a deep breath, inhaling his smell as I pulled it on.
"This smells like you." I chuckled slightly.
"That's because it's my shirt." He mumbled, rolling a blanket out onto the floor. My smile dropped.
"What's that for?" I asked. He looked at me.
"Well, we're not sharing the bed, so I'll sleep on the floor-."
"Don't be silly, I don't mind sharing the bed." I chuckled slightly. His eyes narrowed as he stood up.
"I wasn't doing it for the sake of your comfort. Funnily enough, I don't really feel like sleeping with you." He spoke bluntly, making tears prick my eyes.
"Stiles, let's be mature about this. I know you're angry at me, you have every right to be, and I'm not going to read us sleeping together as us being a couple again. I'm going to read it as you wanted to sleep in your own bed." I sighed. He returned it and nodded as he peeled back the duvet.
"Fine." He mumbled, climbing into bed and laying back. I gave him a small smile as I climbed in next to him but my smile immediately dropped as he turned over so that his back was facing me. I lay on my side so my back was facing his as I lay there.
"Goodnight Stiles." I whispered, only getting a small sigh in response. I let my eyelids flutter shut as a tear fell from my eye.
Stiles's P.O.V
"Goodnight Stiles." Y/N whispered, making Stiles sigh as a tear rolled down his face. He couldn't bear to be angry at Y/N, but he couldn't bear to look at her either. She had put him through so much in the last nine months, he couldn't just forgive her like that. He rolled onto his back and rested his hands against his stomach as he stared up at the ceiling. Out of all the times he'd dreamed about Y/N in the last couple of months, this was the first time that he'd woken up to her actually being there. But it was all wrong. It wasn't supposed to end like this. It was supposed to end with her head on his chest, his heartbeat lulling her to sleep every night and gentle kisses waking her up each morning. Not with him so mad at her that he didn't want to be in the same room as her. He sighed one final time, another tear rolling down his cheek as he slowly closed his eyes.
