"What are you?"
Y/N's P.O.V
I walked into the cafeteria and headed towards our table.
"Hey, guys." I smiled, earning greetings and nods of acknowledgement as I sat down next to Stiles and opposite Lydia.
"Y/N, that's a really pretty bracelet, can I see it?" Lydia asked.
"Sure." I nodded, setting my wrist out so that she could see it. She took my wrist in her hand and yanked it towards her.
"Lydia, ow." I hissed slightly.
"Sorry, I'm just trying to see all of the small details." She smiled, letting go of my wrist before looking at Stiles. My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at him. He looked at me and smiled.
"You okay there, Stiles?" I asked slowly.
"Yeah, yeah, course. Didn't happen to feel anything there, did you?" he asked.
"Like what?" I chuckled. He shrugged and wet his lips with his tongue.
"I don't know, a rush of energy, a heartbeat, an electric shock?" he asked. My smile faltered.
"You don't believe me, do you? You don't believe that what I felt was an electric shock." I realised. His eyes widened.
"No, I do, I just...um...well..." he stuttered, gulping as he looked at me. I scoffed and shook my head before grabbing my bag and standing up.
"Thanks for having so much faith and trust in me." I mumbled before starting to walk away.
"Y/N!" he called after me but I ignored him as I walked out.
Stiles's P.O.V
Stiles groaned and rested his head on the table as Y/N walked out.
"Well played." Lydia sighed.
"What was I meant to say? "Yes, I think that you're lying but I have no freaking clue what you're trying to hide"?" he scoffed.
"Well maybe she's not hiding anything. Absolutely nothing happened when I touched her. If she was some sort of creature that could sense others, she would have known that I'm a banshee. Maybe she's just normal. You could use someone normal in your life. We all could." Lydia mumbled before going back to her phone. Stiles sighed.
"She may not be in my life at all after that." He muttered to himself before stabbing his fork into a piece of chicken.
Y/N's P.O.V
I lay on my bed, surrounded by notes and endless sheets of paper. I groaned as I heard the doorbell go.
"Y/N, you get it, I'm working!" my mom yelled. I groaned again as I sat up and climbed off of my bed before heading down the stairs. My eyebrows furrowed as all I could see through the window in the door was a mob of quaffed brown hair. I opened the door and my eyes widened.
"Hey there." Stiles smiled sheepishly.
"Um, hey Stiles, as lovely as it is to see you, how did you know where I lived?" I asked. His eyes squinted and he pointed to the house next to mine.
"Y/N, Scott's your neighbour." He scoffed. My eyes widened.
"Oh. My god. How did I not know that?" I chuckled.
"I don't know." He smiled before looking down.
"What's wrong, Stiles?" I asked. He sighed and scratched the back of his head.
"I wanted to apologise for being a massive ass today. I wasn't trying to suggest that you were lying, I believe you. I do." He promised, looking at me with sad eyes.
"I know that you do. I overreacted, a lot of stuff went down at my old school and so I was called a liar a lot." I admitted. Stiles looked at me.
"What do you mean, "stuff went down"? What happened?" he asked.
"You wouldn't believe me-."
"Y/N?" my eyes widened as Stiles's eyes drifted behind me and up. I sighed and turned around to see mom on the stairs.
"Who's this?" she smiled.
"This is Stiles, a friend from school." I nodded.
"Hey." He smiled, raising his hand.
"Stiles? As in the boy that you-."
"Okay, we're going outside now." I spoke, putting my hand on Stiles's chest and pushing him backwards.
"I want to hear the end of that sentence." He smiled as I shut the door.
"No, you don't." I chuckled. He returned it before looking at me.
"So, am I forgiven?" he asked sheepishly.
"There's nothing to forgive." I reassured, making him smile.
"I guess that I'll see you at school, then." He spoke, hands in his jean pockets.
"Yeah you will." I spoke. He gave me a small smile before walking down the steps of the porch and along the path. I leant against the pillar as he climbed into his jeep. He smiled at me and waved before driving off.
Stiles's P.O.V
"So, the test failed." Scott sighed as him and Stiles climbed out of the jeep and joined the flow of people heading into school.
"Yeah, it did. Lydia touched Y/N, nothing happened." Stiles nodded.
"Great, back to square one." He spoke.
"Actually, maybe not." Stiles replied, making Scott look at him.
"What?" he asked. Stiles sighed and ran his tongue over his lips.
"I went over yesterday to apologise for being such an ass. She said that it was okay and that a lot of stuff happened in her old school, but she was never believed." He nodded. Scott's eyes widened.
"A lot of supernatural stuff happened and she was never believed because no one else was supernatural?" he asked.
"That's what I thought. So, she's definitely something, we just need to figure out what." He sighed. Scott nodded before looking at him.
"So, how much do you like Y/N?" he asked as they walked through the school doors. Stiles shrugged.
"Well I don't know, do you want me to rate on a scale of one to ten how much I like her?" he scoffed.
"I'm just saying, you may want to be careful." He spoke. Stiles looked at him.
"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked.
"She's only been here a couple months and I can tell that you're falling hard for her. We don't know what she is yet, so I'm just saying. Don't fall too hard for her." He gulped. Stiles returned it.
"It's too late for that." He admitted before looking around.
"Speaking of which, where is she?" he asked.
"I don't know, were you going to meet her or something?" Scott asked. Stiles looked around as he shook his head.
"No, it's just that she said that she'd be here...it doesn't matter." He mumbled, shaking his head before walking into class.
Y/N's P.O.V
Stiles, Scott and I walked into a warehouse and looked around.
"Can you get its scent?" Stiles asked, looking at Scott.
"What's "it"?" I asked. I was ignored as Stiles and Scott walked through the warehouse. I sighed as I remembered I wasn't actually there, so no wonder they hadn't heard me. I watched on as they wandered around, looking at the disused machinery. Stiles walked into a room and out of sight. Suddenly, Scott's head snapped towards the doorway that Stiles had just gone through. I winced as I heard Stiles screaming.
"Stiles!" Scott yelled before running into the room.
I gasped as my eyes shot open. I panted heavily, tears running down my face at the vision.
"I have to tell them." I whispered to myself before looking at my watch.
"Oh, crap!" I hissed as I realised that I was late for school. I shot up and grabbed my stuff before racing out of my room.
I opened the door and slipped into the class.
"Miss Y/L/N, you're late." The teacher scolded.
"Yeah, I woke up late." I mumbled before taking my seat next to Stiles. He looked at me.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, I just, um, had a nightmare which made me wake up late." I lied, looking at him.
"Okay." He nodded before leaning back again in his chair. I hated lying to Stiles but he was the closest to me out of all my friends and I couldn't lose that connection. Hopefully he would be more soon and I couldn't risk that.
"Miss Y/L/N, would you care to answer the question?" I looked up and gulped as the teacher stood over me, holding the chalk in between two fingertips.
"Um-."
"Maybe I could do it, I know the answer." Stiles spoke as he started to stand up.
"Sit down, Mr Stilinski. Y/N can answer the question." She nodded. Stiles sighed and sat down as I stood up. I looked over my shoulder, silently thanking him for trying, earning a small smile in return. The heels of my shoes clicked against the floor as I walked up to the blackboard before taking the chalk. I took a deep breath as I started to write.
"Keep calm, Y/N. Keep it at bay for two minutes." I whispered as I continued to write. My eyes widened as suddenly, all I could see were bandages, spread across the width of the board. I took a step back as my hands started to shake, meaning that I dropped the chalk.
"Miss Y/L/N?" I looked down as I felt a vision coming. No, not here, not now, I thought to myself. Suddenly, two hands grabbed my arms and pulled me out of the classroom. I was turned to face the owner.
"Y/N, are you okay, can you hear me?" Stiles gulped, looking into my eyes as Allison and Scott appeared behind him. I looked into his perfect whiskey eyes, wanting to drown in them.
"Stiles." I choked, collapsing into his arms before my mind clouded over.
Stiles's P.O.V
Stiles stared out of the window absentmindedly as the teacher rambled on. The door opened, making him look that way and his eyes widened as Y/N slipped in.
"Miss Y/L/N, you're late." The teacher scolded.
"Yeah, I woke up late." She mumbled before taking her seat next to Stiles. He looked at her.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, I just, um, had a nightmare which made me wake up late." She replied, looking at him.
"Okay." He nodded before leaning back again in his chair but still keeping an eye on her.
"Miss Y/L/N, would you care to answer the question?" Y/N looked up and gulped as the teacher stood over her, holding the chalk between two fingertips. Stiles gulped as he knew that he had to do something.
"Um-."
"Maybe I could do it, I know the answer." Stiles spoke as he started to stand up.
"Sit down, Mr Stilinski. Y/N can answer the question." She nodded. Stiles sighed and sat down as she stood up. Y/N looked over her shoulder, silently thanking him for trying, which he smiled at before turning to Scott.
"Scott." He whispered, making him look at him.
"Something is wrong with Y/N." he mumbled, making Scott's eyebrows furrow.
"How do you know?" he asked. Stiles looked at Y/N and sighed before looking back at Scott.
"I can't explain it. Something about her just feels wrong." He mumbled. Scott looked at Y/N.
"Okay. We'll keep an eye on her." He mumbled. Stiles nodded before turning back to Y/N. His eyebrows furrowed and he leant forward as she dropped the chalk.
"Scott." He mumbled.
"I see her." He nodded. Stiles ran his tongue over his lips as he looked back at Y/N. His eyes widened as her hands started shaking.
"Miss Y/L/N?" Stiles shot up and towards Y/N.
"Mr Stilinski-." He ignored the teacher as he grabbed Y/N and pulled her out of the classroom, Scott and Allison following him. He turned her to look at him.
"Y/N, are you okay, can you hear me?" he gulped, staring into her beautiful hazel eyes. His eyes widened as the hazel disappeared into a cloud of red.
"Stiles." She choked before collapsing into his arms.
"Guys, guys, I need help, Y/N!" he called out, sinking to the ground with her in his arms. He gulped as he cupped her face, trying to wake her. She continued to choke slightly, her eyes still open.
"Are her eyes-."
"Yes, they're red, what the hell is happening to her?" Stiles choked. Allison's eyes widened.
"What is it?" Scott asked. Stiles looked at her.
"Okay, so you're a werewolf, Lydia is a banshee, Stiles is a...Stiles. I think that I know what she is." Allison thought out loud. Stiles's eyes widened.
"What do you think that she is?" he asked. Allison sighed.
"I mean, it's a long shot but there's a creature called the korrigan. It can see into the future, as well as peoples' pasts when it touches them. It can even sense other creatures, which would be why she looked so freaked out when she touched Scott for the first time." She nodded.
"Okay but she didn't react the same when she touched Lydia. Nothing at all happened when she touched Lydia." Stiles spoke.
"If she hasn't yet learned to control it, she can't turn it off and on. She can't decide when she gets a vision and when she doesn't." Allison explained.
"But what about her eyes? They're bright red and she looks like she's in a coma." Scott scoffed.
"That's what happens when a korrigan gets a vision. Its eyes go red, it collapses and it won't regain consciousness until the vision is over." Allison explained.
"Okay so how long will she be like this, because it's really starting to worry me." Stiles choked.
"They can last anyway from ten seconds to three hours, there's no way of knowing." She sighed. Stiles's eyes pricked with tears as he looked down at Y/N. She was still choking slightly and her eyes were still bright red but she still looked perfect. Stiles's lips spread into a small smile as he cupped her cheek and pulled her closer to him.
"We need to get her out of here before someone sees her, because I don't particularly feel like exposing the world of the supernatural today." Scott nodded. Stiles and Allison returned it.
"We can take my car, there's more room." Allison spoke as they stood up. Stiles carefully picked Y/N up bridal style before carrying her out of the school and towards Allison's car.
"Stiles, you go in the back with Y/N." Scott spoke. Stiles nodded before carefully putting Y/N in the back before climbing in after her. He positioned her so that she was lying across the seats with her head on his lap. He gently stroked her hair as she continued to stare up at him, but it wasn't her.
"You're going to be okay." He whispered.
Y/N's P.O.V
I looked around, not recognising where I was. Of course I didn't, this was a vision, meaning that I was in a place that I had yet to go. I gulped as all I could see were clean white walls, with a white floor and ceiling. I'd seen this place before. I looked to my side and saw Scott by me. I looked around for Stiles and the others but it was just us.
"Where's Stiles?" I asked. Scott ignored me.
"I forget that you haven't done this before." He spoke, talking to the future me.
"You're going to be okay." My eyes widened as I heard Stiles's voice. This shouldn't be happening, I thought, this had never happened. I had never heard someone in one of my visions. I smiled to myself as I realised Stiles's voice was pulling me back.
I gasped as I woke up, my torso jolting up as I came to. I lay back down and my eyes widened as I realised where I was.
"Scott, Allison, she's awake." I looked up and sighed in relief as Stiles looked back down at me, his arms around me.
"Stiles." I whispered, raising my shaking hand to cup his cheek.
"Stiles." Allison spoke, making Stiles move his face to look at her.
"Don't let her touch you, if she is a korrigan and can't control her powers, she could accidentally kill you." Allison gulped. Stiles looked down at me.
"She's right. I don't want to hurt you." I whispered. He choked and nodded, cupping my cheek instead as we continued to drive.
Stiles carried me into Scott's house and laid me down on his sofa.
"You okay?" he asked, looking at me with worried eyes.
"I'm fine, just weak." I nodded.
"So, it's true." I looked up and sighed as Scott stood there, arms folded over his chest. I looked down and nodded.
"You're a korrigan." Allison stated. I sighed and looked at Stiles. His eyes wavered and he looked down, breaking my heart.
"How long have you been a korrigan for?" Allison asked.
"Well, I first realised what I was when I was thirteen. My parents thought that I had some form of rare Schizophrenia, but no. I'm a supernatural creature." I chuckled nervously.
"You know what Lydia and I are, then?" Scott asked. I nodded.
"Werewolf and banshee. She's actually the first banshee that I've ever met." I nodded. Scott and Allison returned it. I looked at Stiles to see his eyes glued to the floor as he stood up.
"Stiles, you okay?" I mumbled.
"I'm fine." He mumbled, briefly looking at Scott and Allison before heading up the stairs. I looked at them.
"What did I do?" I choked.
"Nothing, I'm sure that he's just worried about you." Allison reassured. I sighed and nodded, looking down at my intertwined fingers as I waited for Stiles to come back in. As if on cue, he walked back into the room.
"Y/N, can I talk to you, good." He spoke, walking to me and grabbing my arm before pulling me up. I hissed slightly, looking at Allison and Scott.
"Lovers quarrel." Scott mouthed at me, chuckling before I was pulled out. Stiles pulled me into Scott's room and shut the door before turning to me. He looked at me.
"Why didn't you tell me?" he choked, looking at me with broken eyes. I bit my lip.
"I mean, you've been here for nearly two months, we're pretty freaking close, but then I find out your big secret and I think that maybe, we're not that close." He spoke. I choked.
"I didn't know how to tell you-."
"I'm best friends with a werewolf and banshee, but you didn't know how to tell me that you too were a supernatural creature." He scoffed, squinting his eyes.
"I didn't know that, Stiles. I only found out that Scott was a werewolf three days ago, it isn't exactly a normal thing to drop into a conversation, not to mention the crippling fear that I could freaking kill you every time that I touch you." I choked, a tear spilling from my eye. Stiles's face lost its expression as he sighed.
"Come here." He mumbled, walking towards me.
"Stiles, no." I shook my head.
"Please." He spoke.
"I don't want to hurt you." I choked.
"You won't." he reassured, standing so close that he had to look down at me. I held my breath as he slowly took my hands in his. I looked up at him and he smiled.
"What?" I asked.
"Your eyes have gone red." He chuckled. I returned it.
"That's because I'm trying not to kill you." I admitted, making him laugh.
"Well thank you for making that effort." He smiled. I returned it and looked down.
