The new girl
Y/N's P.O.V
My dad drove along the open road, trees on either side of the concrete stretch going on for miles. I sighed as I looked out of the window, my chin resting against my closed fist.
"You okay, hun?" I looked forward and sighed again as mum looked at me.
"Yeah, I'm great. I'm sixteen, and now friendless because my parents decided to move the entire family five-hundred miles away from home. I'm just fantastic." I smiled sarcastically.
"Hey, there's no need for that. You know that you weren't safe there anymore." Dad scolded. I sighed and looked back out of the window.
"Didn't mean that we had to move so far away." I mumbled.
"It's what Deaton recommended, and you know that we trust him with your life. It's good to be near him." Mom nodded. I gulped as we neared the "Welcome to Beacon Hills" sign on the side of the road. My eyes widened and I choked as we passed it.
"We have to go back." I gulped. My parents looked at each other.
"Why, honey?" mom asked.
"Deaton was wrong, this place isn't safe, please, dad, turn back." I choked.
"Hey, look at me." Mom spoke, gently taking my hands in hers. I gulped as I looked at her.
"What three things cannot long be hidden?" she asked.
"Mom, you know that that doesn't work for me-."
"What three things cannot long be hidden?" she asked again. I sighed and gulped.
"The sun, the moon, and the truth." I panted.
"And again." She nodded.
"The sun, the moon, and the truth." I spoke, my breathing slowing down gradually.
"One more time." She spoke.
"The sun, the moon, and the truth." I breathed.
"Feel better?" mom asked. I looked at her.
"Loads." I nodded.
"Good. Now, you're perfectly safe here. You know that Deaton is a good man and you know that we wouldn't do anything unless we were certain that it would keep you safe." She reassured. I sighed and nodded.
"I know." I spoke.
"That's my girl." She nodded, giving me a small smile before sitting back properly in her seat. I sighed and sat back in my own seat. My eyes drifted to the window again as we started driving into residential areas. Poor people. They had no idea what was coming to them.
Stiles's P.O.V
"You know how many vehicle collisions last year involved deer? Two-hundred and forty-seven thousand." Stiles scoffed.
"Oh god, please go to school." Stilinski groaned. Stiles ignored him as he continued to stare at the laptop screen.
"But that's crossing the road, that one last night came right down the middle." Stiles mumbled. Stilinski sighed, scratching the back of his neck as he wandered into the room.
"I'm not going to beg you."
"Okay, good, I'm impervious to your influence anyway." Stiles muttered.
"Would you consider a bribe?" his dad asked.
"Couldn't meet my price." Stiles cocked his head to the side, eyes still glued to the laptop screen.
"Extortion?"
"Got nothing on me." Stiles shrugged. Stilinski sighed.
"Yeah." He nodded before moving behind Stiles and starting to pull his chair out. Stiles's eyes widened as he was slowly pulled away from his desk.
"Dad." He spoke, reaching his fingers to the laptop.
"Dad." He repeated. He groaned as the chair fell over, making him fall to the ground.
"Go to school." Stilinski called out as he left the room. Stiles sighed and nodded as he got up and grabbed his bag.
"I guess that I better go to school." He mumbled.
Stiles sat in the library with Scott, Allison and Lydia. He typed away at his laptop as he researched ways to kill vampires.
"You're not tying me up again for the full moon." Scott warned.
"Considering the fact that it's me that you always try to kill, um, yeah, I am." Stiles smiled sarcastically before looking up. His eyes widened and his smile immediately dropped as he saw her. His throat dried as he couldn't look away. She sat there, at the table across the library, doing work. Her earphones were almost unnoticeable against her gorgeous brown curls that rested against her shoulder. He looked down and smiled slightly at her foot tapping against the floor in tune to whatever she was listening to.
"Stiles? Stiles? Hey!" Stiles was brought back as he felt a sharp twang on his ear.
"Ow." He hissed, holding his ear as he realised that Scott had flicked him.
"What were you looking at?" he asked. Stiles looked at the girl.
"Is she new?" he asked. Lydia and Allison looked over at her.
"Yeah. She's in our English class, her family just moved here from New York." Lydia nodded. Stiles looked at her.
"Stiles, you can't stop staring at her." Scott chuckled.
"What?" he mumbled, still not taking his eyes away from her. Allison, Lydia and Scott smirked at each other.
"What?" Stiles asked as he finally looked back at them.
"Be back in a sec." Allison smiled before shooting up and towards the girl.
"Allison, no-." Stiles shot up but Scott grabbed him and pulled him back down.
"Great best friend you are-oh, god." He groaned, hiding behind his textbook as Allison sat down next to the girl.
Y/N's P.O.V
I sat at the table, listening to my music while writing notes down. I looked up and my eyes widened slightly as a girl sat in front of me and smiled. I took out an earphone.
"Hey." She smiled.
"Hey." I returned.
"I'm Allison, what's your name?" she asked.
"Y/N. I'm new here." I spoke.
"I thought so. You're in my English class, right?" Allison asked.
"I thought that I recognised you from somewhere." I chuckled, making her smile.
"Yeah, okay, so here's the thing. You see that one-hundred and forty-seven pounds of awkward teenage boy right there?" she asked, pointing to the table that she'd just come from. I looked over and smiled as a boy sat there, hiding behind his textbook. I bit my lip as his eyes peeked over the top of the textbook and then widened before dipping back down as he saw me looking.
"I just about see him." I chuckled.
"Yeah, so he thinks that you're really cute, and I know study period only has five minutes left, so there's no point now, but do me a favour and come sit with us at lunch, okay?" she asked.
"I can sit with you guys?" I smiled.
"Yeah, course. You seem cool and you've already made an impression on Stiles." She chuckled. I returned it.
"Okay, I will. Thanks, Allison." I smiled.
"Don't thank me, you seem nice. See you at lunch." She smiled before standing up and heading back to the table.
Stiles's P.O.V
Stiles hid behind the textbook, banging his head against the table.
"Scott, I hate your girlfriend so much." He mumbled.
"I wouldn't, because whatever she's saying is making that girl smile." He chuckled. Stiles looked at him before peeking his eyes over the edge of the textbook. His eyes widened as the girl saw him and he quickly ducked down.
"Dammit, did she see me?" he asked, looking at Scott.
"Most definitely." Scott nodded. Stiles groaned and ran a hand through his gelled hair, making Scott chuckle. Suddenly, Allison sat back down opposite Scott.
"Stiles." She spoke. He peeked over the edge of the textbook again and looked at her.
"I have good news and bad news, which do you want first?" she asked. He groaned and hung his head before looking back at her.
"Bad news, I guess." He spoke.
"Well, because she saw you, she now knows that you're the most awkward that teenage boys come." She chuckled. Stiles opened his mouth to speak but stopped as he tipped his head from side to side.
"I'm good with that, she was going to found out pretty quickly anyway." he shrugged, wetting his lips with his tongue.
"The good news is that she thinks that we're friendly and so she's going to sit with us at lunch." Allison nodded. Stiles's eyes widened and he smiled.
"Oh my god, Allison, I love you-." Scott growled at him.
"As a friend, as a friend, jeez." He rolled his eyes.
"Just try not to freak her out with all your ogling but not actually saying anything." Lydia mocked.
"I'll try but I can't promise anything." He chuckled. He looked over at the girl and his eyes widened as she was looking at him. She gave him a small wave and smiled. His lips curled into a smile as he gave a small wave back, making her smile widen before she went back to her work.
