"Tyler, why do you want to go trick or treating at the age of 28?"

"Why don't you want to go trick or treating at the age of 20?"

Living with this big dumbo had been eventful for the time that we had been living with each other. 

Our friendship grew very fast once we met.

I did end up asking Tyler about video games and we actually have very similar taste in the glorious hobby and even play together and sometimes throw Mark into the mix. 

Just for fun. 

"C'mon, Ethan." Tyler pulled his signature puppy dog eyes, god damn were they hard to say no to. "Please?"

"I'm not going trick or treating." My heart broke at the frown on Tyler's face. "But I will go buy candy with you."

Tyler was still just as happy as he would have been if we went trick or treating. 

Walking down the aisles of Walmart trying to find a bag of candy that would suit both of our preferences was a task.

We managed on just getting a bag for each of us. 

"Wanna go walk on the beach?"

I turn to Tyler as I pay the worker lady, shrugging my shoulders.

"Sure."

"No."

"Why not?"

"No."

Tyler and I stood side by side, looking out at the ocean, waves crashing into each other.

I shivered at the sight.

"C'mon. It will be fun I promise."

"It will also be cold." I turned to Tyler smiling. "You said we would be walking."

Tyler rolled his eyes and took off his sweat pants to reveal baggy gym shorts under them, taking off his socks and shoes and running to the edge of the tide, kicking up the freshly doused sand.

"I'm just gonna start throwing this stuff at you if you don't come down here." I rolled my eyes. "Ethan Mark Nestor-Darling, stop being a pussy."

I raised my eyebrows annoyed at him.

"What did you just call me?"

"A pussy who doesn't like getting cold."

I pulled my shirt off, revealing the tank top I had on under it, cringing at the fact that I'd be swimming in jeans.

I took off the second I felt wet sand hit my back while I took off my shoes and socks.

"Tyler I swear to god!"

The second I got into Tyler's reach, he pushed me into the water.

"Why?"

"Because."

I reached for a hand to help get up, Tyler smiling and grabbing my hand in his, promptly pulling him into the water with me. 

"You should have seen that one coming, idiot."

Tyler got up and splashed water in my face, making me get up and do the exact thing back to him.

He just rolled his eyes and started walking towards the big waves to jump them, making me follow him.

"Get up on my shoulders."

"Excuse me?"

I jumped a wave as Tyler flipped his hair out of his face with his hand.

"Just do it."

Tyler helped me up into his broad shoulders, making me worry at the lack of balance that he had.

"What am I doing up here exactly?"

Tyler just smiled at me and looked at a huge wave that was coming our way.

Just as I looked at it too, Tyler threw me into it, submerging me into the annoyingly salty water.

After I recovered from literally flying in the humid LA air and processing what just happened, I looked at a very smiley Tyler.

"Why?"

"You can't say that wasn't fun."

I just rolled my eyes and smiled, tackling him into the water.

Tyler managed to get me back onto his shoulders, despite my fighting, throwing me off a lot harder than the first time and into a bigger wave than what I probably should have been thrown into.

I came up to the water just fine, Tyler was still apologizing and asking if I was okay.

"I'm fine-" I looked at my soulmark wrist in horror. "Where's my bracelet?"

Tyler looked at my arm, unable to see my soulmark, moving to look at the surface of the water to see if it was floating. 

"We'll find it, Ethan, don't worry."

He didn't get why I was worried.

I ran out of concealer and was using a thick rubber bracelet until a new bottle came in.

Tyler will find out.

You're going to have to tell him.

You're going to have to accept it.

You're going to have to accept that you turned out this way.

Andrew is going to be disappointed.

You can't bring a boy to your dad.

Your soulmark is wrong.

You're a mistake.

"Ethan! I found it!"

I don't remember seeing Tyler before or after he said that. 

I just remember seeing my soulmark and then falling.

I didn't even get to see the sun complete it's set behind the ocean.
