7| Nightmare
"What- how- why..." I stuttered and watched him casually leaning on the doorframe.
"I thought we already went through this at the hospital." He sighed.
"I knew you were there and I'm not crazy!" I exclaimed in excitement, then shook my head to get my senses back. Jumping on my feet from my bed, I pointed my finger at him. "Why did no one else see you there? You-you just vanished!"
"I hid and saved you from making a dafty of yourself." My brows scrunched at the Scottish word and he saw the confusion on my face. "A fool."
"But I did anyway." I scoffed, crossing my arms around my chest. I stared at him, then the memory of him in bandages clicked in my mind. "You're supposed to be in a coma!"
"I know. The doctor explained the situation pretty well." My jaw dropped as I stared at him.
"You were listening?!"
Damn, my throat!
"Yeah." He shrugged like it wasn't a big deal.
"You were in the accident and now you are in a coma..." He nodded his head. "Then how the hell are you here?!"
"I followed you." He gave me a toothy grin as I stared at him in disbelief.
What the f**k is going on here?!
I observed him from head to toe. The white sweater he wore was stainless with no sign of blood, and there wasn't a single scratch on his body. The car in the picture was wracked, and I saw him in the hospital, so how the hell...
"I got it now..." I mumbled.
"What?" He asked, tilting his head, looking cute.
"This is all an act!" I laughed, which sounded more like a maniac. "You fake that accident!" I accused.
"I didn't-"
"Of course you did!" I growled. "That's how you're even here!" I stepped forward and clenched my fists to my side. "Now tell me why you did it-" he opened his mouth, but I held my finger, "- how you did and who the hell is in that bed at the hospital?"
"That's me and I know it sounds crazy but... Trust me, I know nothing myself." He said, boring his ocean-sad eyes into mine.
"Trust?" I scoffed. "That will not happen after that stunt you pulled at the club."
"We have met before?" He asked, looking confused, and I gaped.
"First you denied you weren't hitting on me, and now you're going to act like we never met?" I snapped.
"I swear, I don't remember a thing." He said, running his hands through his hair. "The last thing I remember was waking and seeing my lifeless body on the ground with people around it taking me to the hospital."
"Listen, dude." I rubbed my hands over my face. "I don't get a single thing you just said and I'm not interested either. So I politely ask you to leave." I plastered a smile on my face.
"Naw." My jaw clenched.
"Excuse me?" I gritted through my teeth.
"You are the only one who can see me. So naw, I'm not going anywhere." I blinked my eyes and tried to process his words, but remained blank.
"I'm the only one who can see you?" He bobbed his head. I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself because this guy wasn't making any sense. "Leave my apartment or else I'll throw you myself."
"Fortunately, that's something you can't do." He grinned.
"Why?"
"Because you can't touch me."
I rolled my sleeves up to my elbows and cracked my knuckles. "This is your last warning, Finlay." I glowered and narrowed my eyes, trying to intimate him. "Leave."
His lips stretched into a full grin, showing off his swoon-worthy dimples. "You're going to hurt yourself."
"We'll see about that!" I yelled and launched myself at him.
Instead of tackling him on the ground, as I imagined in my mind, I flew through him into the living room.
"OPH!" I groaned as I landed on my face on the floor. I rolled on my back and rubbed my chest.
F**k!
"Are you ok?" Finlay came and crouch down next to me.
"What the..." I sat on the ground and frowned as I stared at him.
"I told you..." He muttered.
Ignoring him, I hesitantly held my hand in front of him and pressed it against his chest. My eyes bugged out of my sockets when I saw my hand go past him and came out of his back.
"That tickles." He chuckled, and that was the last thing I remember before I faint.

I opened my eyes and blinked them rapidly, trying to adjust to my surroundings when I saw nothing but water. I frowned, turning my head until I found myself in the middle of the water.
I whirled around, but nothing made sense. I didn't know how it had happened and had no clue whatsoever. One minute I was in my apartment, and the next I was underwater.
I looked up and saw a shimmer of sunlight rippling in the water above. I moved my hands and legs and tried to swim toward it, but it didn't help because I didn't know how to swim.
I held my breath as I continued to push my arms and legs, but nothing worked. For all I knew, I was dragging myself further down. I felt my lungs screaming for air as I thrashed my legs and arms wildly.
I struggled to keep my breath and saw the sun going further away from me. I felt my body getting numb and finally gave in as I breathe the water.
I jolted up coughing and gasped for air. Taking deep breaths, I filled my lungs with air and glanced around to see I was in my living room. I frowned and breathe heavily as I looked around. My heart furiously drummed in my ears.
What was that?!
With the back of my hand, I rubbed the sweat from my forehead and pressed my palms to my hot and wet cheeks. Cleaning the tears away, I sat on the floor and pulled my knees to my chest.
The dream felt so real... like it had happened before.
I tried to remember what happened when my eyes widened at the thought of Finlay. I looked around my room and saw it was empty.
A dry laugh let my lips as I gulped. "Maybe I was dreaming about him too," I mumbled to myself.
"Actually..." I flinched when I heard his voice from behind. "I'm not a dream." I slowly angled my neck, and a whimper left my lips when I saw him sitting on my couch. "Do you often have nightmares like that?" He asked in a concerned voice. "You were struggling-"
Ignoring him, I ran to my room and took my phone out. My eyes widened when I saw the time. It was around four in the morning. I glanced out my window and saw darkness. I saw miscalls from my uncle and dialed him, even though it wasn't the time to. The bell rang, but he didn't pick up. I tried till he finally picked it up.
"Uncle, you won't believe what happened!" I started rambling and told him about what happened in the hospital.
"Amber...take deep breaths." He whispered in a sleepy voice. I did as he said. "You need some sleep, dear."
I groaned. "I slept for almost twelve hours uncle, I don't need it anymore."
I heard movement behind him. "Paige told me what happened and how you were talking to yourself-"
"I wasn't talking to myself!" I screamed and turned around to see Finlay standing at the door.
"It's alright, you were hallucinating things-"
"I was not!" I gestured towards Finlay. "He's standing in front..." I trailed off and slammed my mouth shut at the memory of me passing through him.
It can't be possible that he's here and at the hospital and I can't touch him.
Maybe it's all hallucination.
