Something
Alright so I made this really cute one-shot between two cats. It's a gay one
But the catch
It's between Spiderleg and Thornclaw, and they're technically related.
So.
I made this an alternate universe where Spiderleg isn't dead and they aren't related.
Enjoy.
Spiderleg sat in the clearing, his amber eyes trailing after the golden-brown tabby. He smiled, as Thornclaw sat down, finally, and closed his beautiful blue eyes, seeming to be at rest.
The brown and black tom padded over, curiosity in his gaze.
"T-thornclaw?" He stuttered, feeling his cheeks heat up. "Do you want to go hunting, or something?"
Thornclaw opened his eyes, his hard gaze softening when he met the amber eyes of Spiderleg.
"Sure, Spiderleg." He purred, standing up, stretching. "Let's head out."
The tabby tom sped ahead of Spiderleg, brushing his tail against the tom's nose. He heard him sneeze, and smiled, running out into the dense forest.
"So, where to?" He purred, standing next to Spiderleg. "The great sycamore?"
"Sure, why not?" The brown-chested tom chuckled. "Race you!"
Thornclaw let a deep growl escape from his throat as he ran after the long-legged warrior, his shorter, more gruff body slower than the thinner, wiry tom. "Slow down!"
"Why? Can't keep up?" Spiderleg stopped, panting. "Maybe you need to hold off the fresh-kill."
"Oh, I'll get you for that!" Thornclaw growled, leaping at the smaller warrior. "Now it's my turn to win."
The two toms scuffled in the leaves, the orange and brown foliage crinkling under their movements. Thornclaw pinned Spiderleg down, smiling.
"Got you." He panted, his eyes bright, smiling.
"So you did. I guess you won."
Thornclaw relaxed, only to have Spiderleg fling himself up, pinning the golden-brown tabby to the forest floor. "Got you."
His amber eyes twinkled mischievously, and he stepped off, allowing the tabby tom to stand up. Thornclaw stood up, smiling happily.
"That was fun." He purred, touching noses with the black and brown tom.
"It was." He responded.
Thornclaw felt a feeling inside him, something he had never felt before. He felt as if his heart was melting, and a fierce determination strengthened him. It was almost alien, the way he felt.
It was as if two twigs suddenly snapped together, and Thornclaw realized what he was feeling.
It was love.
He glanced toward Spiderleg, who had lay down on the ground, panting heavily. His heart melted at the sight of his beautiful pelt.
"Umm... Spiderleg?" He needed, hoping to capture the tired warrior's attention. "Can we talk?"
Spiderleg stood up, his gaze happy. "Sure. What's up, Thornclaw?"
"I, er... I was wondering, if perhaps, maybe, just maybe-" he was interrupted by Spiderleg.
"Spit it out, Mouse-brain!" The tom purred.
"Will you be, maybe, more than friends with me?" He purred, hoping Spiderleg felt the same way.
Spiderleg gasped, and his amber eyes softened with an unreadable expression. Deep down, he knew it to be love.
"Oh, Thornclaw..." He purred.
"You don't feel the same way... I understand..." Thornclaw mewed sadly, his gaze dropping to the floor sadly.
"No... Quite the opposite actually. I think I love you."
"Y-you love me?"
"I do! I really love you!"
"I love you, too!"
The two toms nuzzled, their necks craning, loud purrs erupting from the new mates.
"I love you, and I forever will."
"I will, too, Thornclaw."
"Thanks, Spiderleg."
And this is Daisy being supportive omg
Spiderleg ran into camp, his new mate behind him. He stopped at the entrance, taking a deep breath. "You ready?"
"Ready, love." Thornclaw responded, taking a deep breath as well.
The two lovebirds entered the hollow, their tails entwined. They watched as Daisy approached. Spiderleg flinched, not sure how his former mate would react.
The cream she-cat ran over, happiness in her eyes.
"Spiderleg, Thornclaw, are you two in love?" She mewed, sounding slightly surprised.
"Umm... Yes..." Spiderleg mewed, quite awkward.
"Congratulations! Just wait until Rosepetal hears about this!" The former horseplace cat replied. "I'll go fetch her!"
The mates watched as Daisy ran into the warriors den, her cream tail tip sticking out. They heard the muffled mew of "Rosepetal," and the groan of the brown tabby she-cat.
The mother and daughter rushed out, and Rosepetal ran over to her father, looking at him.
"Spiderleg? Are you and Thornclaw really mates?" She mewed, looking confused.
"Y-yes." The black and brown tom responded. "We are..."
"Oh, congratulations!" His daughter purred. "That's wonderful!"
"T-thanks, I guess..."
Daisy smiled sadly. "Congratulations, again." She purred, turning away.
"Wait, Daisy!" Spiderleg mewed. "Let me talk to you."
"Oh... Alright. Come to the nursery." The cream she-cat responded.
"Okay."
The two former mates padded into the nursery, touching noses briefly.
"I-I'm sorry, Daisy. I'm sorry that I couldn't give you the love I feel for Thornclaw. I'm so, so sorry!" The black and brown tom felt himself spilling his long held emotions. "I'm sorry!"
"No, darling. No, no... It's alright. You never truly loved me. You never did. You truly love him." She swiped her tail under his eyes, wiping a tear. "It's alright. Don't worry."
Spiderleg nodded. "I'm so sorry.."
"No. You love him. Don't apologize that you couldn't love me. I understand." She purred. "I understand..."
Spiderleg sniffled, and touched noses one last time with the former kittypet, before exiting the den, running to his new mate.
"Thornclaw. I love you. Thank you, for loving me."
"And I love you. I hope you know that." The muscled tom replied. "And just think, in a few moons, you'll be suckling our kits in the nursery."
Spiderleg laughed, his amber eyes shining.
"I guess that's it, then." He purred, leaning against Thornclaw's side. "We're mates. We truly are."
"We are, Spiderleg. We are..."
There's my smol oneshot
Don't hate on it, alright? I love this ship. I don't care if in the cannon universe they're related. It's an AU. Alright?
