Souled
Long, long ago, there was only the Chaos that spun everything in the Omniverse, and the One which came into existence, born from the Abyssal Chaos.
From there, various beings were born from the Abyssal Chaos with the help of the first, and became known as the Greater Incarnations.
Then, they created the Original Universe of the first Multiverse, but then, they realized the beings there were just dolls, empty and lifeless.
Seeing this, the One and the others decided that this should not be, and from the Abyssal Chaos, the One spun two final Greater Incarnations.
They were known as Soul and Souless, and their job was to decide which brings were to be born with souls, and which were to go without.
The two final Greater Incarnations stood at the One's side, and they were the One's most trusted companions.
Then, tragedy struck.
A lesser incarnation, born from love between two of the greater beings, became jealous.
It wanted to be by the One. In its jealous insanity, it struck down Soul and Soulless.
The One struck the lesser god down, but it had already brought the first corruption into the Omniverse, and that could not be undone.
A Plague, dark and horrifying, was born. The One gathered the dying fragments of their long-time companions, for if they truly faded, there would be no more souls.
He fused the two into one being, but they could not remember who or what they were.
Gently, the One sealed away the other's memories and greater powers, renamed them, and allowed them to wander the Omniverse.
But, the One was forced to remove all memories of Soul and Soulless from all others to protect them. Not a single memory of the two remained beyond the One, nor shall they ever.
Eons later, the being made of the last vestiges of Soul and Soulless came across a spark of light, a barely flickering ember drifting in the Omniversal Void.
Thinking they were only a mere lesser god, they took that spark, and created their own Multiverse.
Their story began to unfold, and they became known as Ink, for they did indeed appear similar... but perhaps, it was Ink who looked similar to those original beings.
And, in some multiverses... they were known as Shell.
And so, their story began to unfold, with many twists and turns along the way.
For a time, the god was split into two lesser beings, which bore a marked resemblance to their original forms, before finally recombining.
