It had been a whole week since the group of five arrived in the underground. They had gotten along with all of the monsters Kari befriended when she was five. Mettaton had become one of those friends, even though he "tried to kill her" five years ago. Kari was still closed off, but she was talking a little more and the walls that she put up were slowly being torn down. The day started out like any other, Papyrus making spaghetti with Flo helping, Sans napping, the twins messing around outside, Kitearo watching the twins so no one got hurt, and Kari walking around at the edge of Snowdin.

"... It's close... Too close. This feeling... I don't like it." Kari thought as she stared at the entrance to Snowdin.

On the surface, Ren, Chun, and Mesi were nearing the giant hole in Mt. Ebbot that led to the underground. Ren was first, and he used his stretching ability to easily reach the bottom. Ren's abilities made it so he could change the properties of his body, for example making himself into metal and still able to move. Chun then jumped down, using his nature related abilities to manipulate some roots into a staircase structure. Chun could also heal and poison others if he chose to. Mesi rolled her eyes and used her water abilities to get to the bottom of the hole quickly. Mesi also had ice abilities that she could use. The three walked a little bit and then heard a voice call out.

"Howdy! I'm Flowey, Flowey the--"

"Shut up." Ren hissed with a glare. The talking flower jolted in shock. The teen's tone was sharp like daggers and cold like ice. "Five kids came down here, did you see them?" Ren asked with a low growl in his throat.

"What do they look like?" Flowey asked with a small smirk. Ren blinked and explained what each escapee looked like to the talking flower. "Oh. Those brats. Yeah, I saw 'em. They went that way." Flowey gestured towards Toriel's old home. "They're probably in the underground at this point, just go into the basement of the house when you get there. If you keep going then you might catch them pretty quick. A day or two at most maybe." Flowey smirked. "You might wanna hurry, they could be leaving Snowdin at this point."

"Snow-what?" Mesi called with a small smile. "Snow?!" She called and Ren sighed.

"Well shit. You just got her all excited." Ren grumbled, not amused with what had just happened. "Whatever. Let's get going." He sighed and walked onwards.

"Mesi, come on." Chun called with a small smile. Mesi nodded and trailed behind the two boys. The three were in Toriel's old home in no time and were looking around. Ren grumbled then stuck out his tongue, which looked like a snake tongue mixed with a human one, and closed his eyes.

"They were here a few weeks ago." Ren said while putting his tongue back into his mouth. "I smell 'em. It's faint but it's their scent." Mesi blinked.

"I still think it's weird that you can smell with your tongue." She said and Ren chuckled.

"I could say the same about you as well, I mean you can survive in ungodly cold temperatures with only a two piece swimsuit, no, scratch that I mean nude. Bleh!" Ren shivered. "I hate the cold." Chun rolled his eyes. "Don't get me started on you!" Ren glanced at Chun.

"Whatever. Tell me again why we listen to dislocating-jaw-boy." The younger of the two boys looked unamused and glanced back at Ren with his arms crossed.

"Cuz I'm older than both of you. Now let's go you two." Ren hissed and then went towards the basement. Mesi looked happy as she kept talking about snow while Ren's mood dropped. The three soon came across a door and went through it. "Have I mentioned I hate, HATE the cold?"

"We heard!" Chun and Mesi called then the three went through the door, Ren with a blanket wrapped around him now.

Kari was staring towards the entrance of Snowdin, her nose twitching every so often. She was in a tall tree and on all fours, crouching like a feline with her hood no longer on her head. Her eyes were dulled with a distant gaze, which she had all the time even though no one saw it. Kari let out a low growl, showing her teeth while her pupils turned to slits. She hopped to the ground and rushed back to the skeleton brother's house as quickly as she could. The twins were the first to notice the cloud of snow that was heading towards them. They let out a surprised yelp and rushed inside with Kitearo not too far behind. Kari skid to a stop after passing the house by about two feet, then ran inside.

"What's wrong Kari?" Papyrus asked while walking into the living room with a few plates of spaghetti and Flo behind him with the rest of the spaghetti plates.

"... Bad, uh... Bad people... I smell 'em. Very close." Kari stammered, looking for the correct words to say.

"Who?" Kitearo asked with his left eyebrow raised and his arms crossed. Papyrus went upstairs to get Sans while listening to the conversation.

"... H.M.O.T.G people... Like us... Uh, not... Not bleach whites... Smells like... 17, 22, and 36... "

"Why do you say they are bad? Didn't they help us out a little bit back at H.M.O.T.G?" Beats asked in confusion.

"... Feeling... Bad feeling..." Kari frowned. That was when the brothers walked down stairs.

"Hey kids." Sans waved with a yawn.

"Yo! How'd ya sleep Sans?" Boom smiled.

"I slept well." Sans replied while stretching. He was waking up slowly.

"Sup Sans." Beats waved.

"Morning Sans." Flo greeted with a giggle.

"Hey Sans." Kitearo smiled. Kari just nodded her head towards Sans in a greeting way. Sans sighed and sat down on the couch.

"... Need to leave..." Kari said after a moment of silence. Sans turned around to face her and the others. "Dangerous... Need to leave now... Very close..." Kari said in her usual neutral tone.

"So, where do we go?" Boom asked while closing his eyes and tilting his head, thinking of what to do.

"... Hotland... Alphys's lab." Kari shivered lightly. "Closer... Two days... Maybe less... Hurry..." She informed and looked at her group. "This way... Short cut..." Kari then went to leave. When she was in front of the door she looked at the skeleton brothers. "... Should run... Please..." She said and Papyrus frowned.

"... Alright... If it is really bothering you, then we will evacuate to a safe location. Be careful..." The taller skeleton sighed. Kari nodded.

"... Don't... Don't go gettin' yourself hurt. Kay, kid?" Sans asked with a low, slightly sad tone of voice. Kari blinked then went to her things. She pulled out her plush dragon, then walked towards Sans and handed it to him.

"Here... Take Chase..." Kari said. Sans just stared with wide eyes. "Chase helped, uh.... Me... He calmed me... Take him..." Kari said and Sans slowly took the plush toy with his left hand.

"Thanks kid... I'll take good care of him. I'll give him back next time I see you." Sans's smile widened. Kari nodded then grabbed her bag and left with the other four and went towards the river to meet up with the river guy. "... Hotland... Please..." Kari stated once they saw the river guy. The cloaked person nodded then all five got on the boat then sped away. Kari took off her hoodie since she knew it was not needed.

Once the boat stopped the five got off of it. Kari led the way towards Alphys's lab. It was as hot, if not hotter, as Kari remembered. Flo smiled happily while spinning around.

"It's so WARM!! I love it here!" She called out with a giggle. The other four looked at her as if she was crazy.

"Flo why even?!" Boom wheezed and collapsed. Kitearo huffed and helped him stand up.

"Let's just keep going. The sooner we get to Alphys's lab the sooner we can cool down." Kitearo quenched his breath and Kari nodded in agreement. Flo looked back at the other four members of the group.

"Come on guys, it's not that hot!" She said and the three boys let out a groan. Kari shrugged and led everyone towards the lab, using the quickest way possible so they could get there sooner. The five were soon at the door to Alphys's lab. Kitearo was gasping for air and sweating like crazy. The twins were barely awake, but Kari and Flo were fine. The two girls stared at the boys and shrugged. The youngest of the group then went to the front door and knocked with her right hand. There was a shuffling sound followed by a loud clank.

"O-oops! M-m-m-my b-b-bad!" Alphys called.

"Alphys, darling, you must be more careful." Mettaton sighed. Soon the robot opened the door and gasped happily. "Oh my, my! Hello there you five... Uh what happened to them?" Mettaton asked, pointing at the three boys.

"... They... Hot..." Kari answered matter of factly. Flo just smiled.

"I don't know why though, I feel great." She laughed. Mettaton chuckled then let the five into the lab happily. "Hey, Mettaton don't you have a show or something?" Flo asked while looking up at Mettaton.

"Huh? Oh. No, I don't. It was canceled for today so I'm just helping Alphys and nagging her to finish working on my body. You want anything to drink?"

"Water!" The three boys gasped tiredly and Kari shrugged.

"... No..."

"I'm good, thanks M-ton." Mettaton looked at Flo. "Oh, just a nickname. I-I could just call you Mettaton if you don't like it."

"... Metta..." Kari called out and Mettaton gasped.

"Oh... I love both nicknames!" Mettaton smiled happily then got the three boys some water. The boys gulped it down then thanked Mettaton in unison. After a moment or two Alphys walked up.

"O-o-oh. H-h-hey guys. What b-b-brings you here?" The royal scientist asked kindly. Kari stepped up.

"... Evacuate... Everyone... In danger..." The child said. Alphys just stared at Kari in shock.

"Wh-why do you say th-that?"

"Kari says that she's getting a bad feeling about three people we know that just arrived. They will arrive in Snowdin in about two days. We need to make sure everyone is safe." Kitearo said, clearing his throat. Kari nodded in agreement.

"... A-Alright. I'll contact Toriel about it and let her know." Alphys said then looked at Kari. "Uh... I... Need to talk to you alone after I talk with Toriel. P-please." Kari nodded in reply.

About ten minutes later Alphys came back and led Kari to the elevator that went down to the true lab when no one was looking. She then let out a sigh while still in the elevator.

"Kari... I need to ask you something. D-do you know anyone named W.D Gaster?" She asked then glanced down at the child. Kari nodded.

"Yeh... He helped me... Five years ago... Chara took body... Was lost... Gaster put my soul in Chase... All I know..." Kari informed. Alphys went wide eyed and the elevator stopped. The royal scientist led Kari towards the strange door and just stared at it from a few feet away.

"Wh-when, uh, Chara took over your body this door showed up out of nowhere then vanished after I left it. I-I think you sh-should have a look. I'll be here if you need me." Kari walked up to the steel door and opened it. She covered her nose and mouth with her scarf and gagged slightly.

Kari heard voices then looked around. After a while Kari saw multiple souls with differing colors and odd patterns and in differing sizes. One was chocolate brown with a light gray square going off the left side and aligned with the middle. She saw a pink soul with a dark gray flower shape on the right that looked like a lily. There was a lime colored soul with a gray lightning bolt-like shape going from top left to bottom right. The last one that caught Kari attention was a maroon soul with a light gray arrow, the tip of it towards the top right while the end of it went to the bottom left. There were tons more and Kari just stared.

Kari blinked and stepped up towards the sea of souls. "... I can help... " She called to the souls, her voice echoing a little bit. Everything went silent and the room began to glow, Kari shielded her eyes with her right arm. The door slammed shut behind Kari and Alphys gasped.

"H-h-hey! K-Kari what's going on?" Alphys sounded worried. She rushed to the door and tried to open it, but with little success.

The room stopped glowing and Kari looked around. The room was as good as new. A voice sounded and a transparent scientist walked through Kari while talking to another scientist.

"So, you sure that these kids will stop the war?" The first scientist asked.

"Yes. They are... You know, freaks like their parents."

"True. Those bastards... Whatever, we will win this war and afterwards conduct further experiments to see what these freaks of nature are capable of." A loud bang sounded and the door was seemingly kicked down.

"YOU LIED TO US!!" A male teen voice called. "YOU WANT US TO BE WEAPONS?! NEVER!!"

"You have no choice in the matter! Get back to-- wait... Wh-why're you covered in blood.... Oh god stay back!!" The scientists backed away and pulled out a pistol from his coat pocket. All personnel had some kind of weapon in case of a riot. The scientist aimed his pistol at the teen boy and began to shake. There were screams, barks, howls and battle cries in the distance.

"We are getting out! You can't keep us here! We are going home!!" The boy yelled in anger and rushed at the scientists quickly. He punched the one holding the pistol in the jaw then kicked the other in the same place. Both scientist had broken jaws and were on the ground, shivering and scared. Gunshots and screams echoed in the distance. The boy growled and went to the now disarmed scientist, rage in his eyes. The other scientist shivered and stared in fear. "We will leave this place! We will see our parents again! We... We will be free...." The teen began to grit his teeth angrily. The first scientist took some blood that dripped from his jaw and wrote on the wall.

"We're sorry"

The boy growled. "I don't care! You have hurt us all long enough!" The scientists began to write again.

"Help us"

"No one will help scum like you! You will soon be the last two scientists in this lab!"

"Don't kill us" The scientist wrote with a shaking hand. "Please" He then pointed to the other scientist who was writing something. The teen looked at the writing.

"We're begging you"

Just when he was done writing a gunshot sounded. The teen boy was shot and one of his lungs was punctured. The boy turned to the scientist that shot him. He made his left hand into the tip of a spear and killed him, the scientists shot a few more bullets as he took his last breaths. The teen then walked over and beheaded the other scientist with his right arm in the form of a blade. The teen gulped and fell to his knees while holding his wounds. He let out a weak chuckle as he felt breathless.

"W-well... Guess this is it..."He looked at the walls that the two scientists wrote on then got an idea. He took some of his blood and left some notes while the sounds of cheers echoed in the distance along with sobs. As his strength started to leave him, he wrote each fuzzy thought that came to his pounding head on its own line, a message to anyone who may see it.

"It is done"

"We are free"

"No more torture"

"No more pain"

"No more tests"

"N O M O R E" The teen then collapsed and took his last breaths. He died from one of his lungs filling with his own blood.

Kari blinked a few times and the room went back to looking as it did before.The souls surrounded Kari as she shivered slightly.

Help...

"How do I... Help you?" Kari asked in a low, quivering voice.

Help them...

Kari grew confused then the souls made three oval shapes and began to glow a little bit. The oval shapes showed images of three similar looking buildings.

Kari stared at the images then went wide eyed. She looked at the souls and nodded.

"I will save them." She said and nodded her head.

There's more...

The souls formed a fourth oval shape and showed the monsters of the underground then stopped on Flowey the flower. Kari went wide eyed when Flowey was shown then nodded again.

"... I... I will try..." Kari responded and turned to leave.

... Thank... You...

Kari nodded in reply and exited the room to see Alphys pacing the hall with a worried expression. Kari just stared for a moment then cleared her throat to get Alphys's attention

"... Alphys..." Kari called while pulling her scarf off of her nose and mouth. The royal scientist turned to look at Kari and went wide eyed.

"Kari! Wh-what happened?!" Alphys asked.

"... The room... Had souls... Lost souls..." Kari frowned. "... They showed me... Events... Death... I gained... Information... Useful information." Alphys blinked while Kari explained what she saw to the best of her abilities. The royal scientist stared in surprise.

"G-G-Good to kn-know. I have been wondering what happened in that room for a while now. Oh, while you were in there Toriel called me and said that everyone is in a safe place. I think you sh-should go there too." Kari shook her head.

"If... We do... They'll, uh... They'll find us..." Alphys frowned.

"Alphys... We'll be okay." Kari said. The two then went back up to the lab to see Flo and Mettaton posing dramatically with big smiles, the twins were messing around and Kitearo was taking a nap in front of the air conditioner. Kari sighed then walked to them and sat down in a chair to watch Mettaton and Flo pose just for the fun of it. It made her feel comfortable, seeing everyone so happy like this, yet she knew something was wrong. It was the three that arrived in the underground recently. Kari did not like the chills crawling up her back when she sensed them near. Kari sighed and decided to internally enjoy the moment for now. Everyone was safe and she could count on Toriel and her friends to keep them safe.
