Kari was the first awaken out of the five. She sat up then looked around. Kari noticed that Boom and Beats had claimed the inflatable bed and Kitearo had been kicked to the floor. The twins were sprawled out and drooling a little bit but not much, Beats had his right foot in Boom's left cheek while Boom had his left foot in Beats's right cheek. Flo was sleeping on the couch and was pressed up against the back of it so that Kari had enough room to lay down. Kitearo was curled at the foot of the inflatable bed on the floor. Kari then sniffed the air and sighed as the smell of spaghetti filled her nose. Kari got off of the couch while holding Chase close to her with her left arm and walked over towards the kitchen to see Papyrus cooking happily.

"Let's see... Now there are a lot more mouths to feed so that means a lot more spaghetti... Also Un--" Kari went up and tugged Papyrus's scarf lightly. She tugged his scarf with her right hand the same way she did when she was five. The taller skeleton turned around to see the child and he smiled. "Oh, good morning human." Papyrus said happily. Kari nodded her greeting and let go of his scarf.

"... help...?" Kari asked then pointed to herself with her right hand. Papyrus went wide eyed for a moment then smiled and began to speak but the door was kicked open then a loud voice called out.

"PAPYRUS WE'RE HERE!!!"

"U-U-Undyne, don't ju-just kick down the front door l-like that."

"Papyrus, darling, we're here on time. What was it you wanted us so badly to see?" Three voices called and the owners of those voices walked in. Undyne was first, then Alphys, and finally a robot with black hair that was in a fringe that covered his right eye, pale "skin," and visible metal segments below and above his left eye. The robot also had a pink chest piece with a dial on one side and a speaker on the other, a narrow metallic waist which held what looked like a heart shape, and black shoulder guards above his segmented arms which ended in gloves. The robot's long black-clad legs ended in pink heeled boots. Once the three saw the four sleeping humans scattered around the place a little bit they froze and stared. After a moment or two Kari and Papyrus came out of the kitchen, the child hidden slightly behind the skeleton.

"What are these humans doing here, Papyrus?" Undyne asked then pointed to Kari, not knowing it was her right away, then gesturing to the other four.

"Well, uh... You remember Kari, I'm sure." Papyrus began.

"Yeah... None of these punks even look like her. None of them have her scarf." Papyrus then took a step to the left and the three went wide eyed. "K-kari, is that you?" Undyne asked and Kari nodded in reply.

"Kari, gorgeous! It's me, Mettaton. How are you dearie?" Kari just stared. "Oh, you might be a little confused on why I look like this." Kari nodded. "Well, you see darling, Alphys finished up my body for me. So now I look absolutely fabulous!" Kari blinked as Mettaton kept talking about how amazing he looked, then she looked at Alphys. Kari went wide eyed and began to feel weird.

"... Al...phys..." She muttered emotionlessly and went to her knapsack. The child rummaged through her things then pulled the old journal. Kari then walked over to Alphys and handed it to her. "...Find...ings.... Lab..." Kari stated in the same tone as before. Alphys took the journal and blinked.

"F-findings? Lab? Wh-what are you t-talking about?" Alphys asked while opening the journal then went wide eyed. Starting in the middle the pages were covered in notes and pictures that Kari had written and drawn and at the beginning were notes that were too smudged to read. "Th-the strange room... Was it a part of this lab Kari mentioned. Oh man, wh-what is going on." Alphys thought as she kept skimming through the notes.

"What's the matter Alphys?" Undyne asked while heading towards Kari. "Before I forget to tell you kid, I'll talk with you later. You got some explainin' to do about your sudden disappearance five years ago."

"That's gonna be hard. She doesn't talk much." Kitearo yawned as he sat up.

"You're loud, ya know that." Boom said with a yawn while scratching the back of his head and smacking his lips tiredly.

"Shut up Boom." Beats grumbled while he sat up and punched his twin in the shoulder lightly. Flo sighed and sat up.

"Both of you just shut up." She grumbled and rubbed her eyes.

"Uh..." Papyrus blinked and pointed to Kitearo.

"Oh, sorry. I'm Kitearo Argentum. Those two are Boom and Beats Musica, and She is Flo Photonic. You all apparently know Kari." Kari nodded her head in reply. The introductions continued when Sans walked out of his room. Now everyone who was in the house knew each other by name.

"So, Kitearo, you said Kari doesn't talk much. Why is that?" Papyrus asked and Kitearo sighed.

"... Well, I'm sure she'd want me to keep my mouth shut." Kitearo looked over to Kari, who noded at his statement. "I had a feeling you'd want me to. Alright, you can tell them when you're ready." Kari nodded again at Kitearo's words. All of the monsters that were in the living room, plus one robot, looked to Kari.

"So, tell us kid." Sans pried. Kari shook her head.

"You're killing us slowly." Mettaton whined. Kari sighed.

"... Keep this... up... And I'll... Never tell..." Everyone was silent. Kari just shrugged and stood up and walked to the door.

"Oh Kari. You wanted to help me cook, right?" Papyrus asked and Kari looked over her shoulder at the taller skeleton and shook her head.

"... Wanna... Walk..." Kari said and left the house. Flo went to follow her but Kitearo held her back. The fourteen year old looked at the older boy in confusion. He just shook his head.

"She needs a moment... I know you can sense it too. She's conflicted. Let her come to us. She'll get mad if we try and push help on her." Kitearo whispered so only they could hear. Flo nodded.

Kari walked towards the edge of Snowdin with her hands in her hoodie's pockets. Her head was down and her posture gave off a closed off look. Once at the edge of the town Kari looked to her left and noticed a few trees. "These look tall and easy to climb." Kari thought then started to climb one of the trees as high as she was able to and sat on a branch overlooking Snowdin. "It has been a long time... I forgot how cold it was here." Kari sighed at her thoughts.

Back on the surface, things began to get even more hectic than before. The scientists at the H.M.O.T.G lab have been scrambling for weeks now to find the five escaped kids.

"Where are they?!"

"How the hell should I know?! Check the surveillance footage again."

"We've checked the footage twenty times already, we can't find anything."

"Argh, where is that crazy old coot Dr. Dez? I need to see if he's done with that project I assigned him over a two months ago."

"That old guy testing on the kids? He's in the lunchroom. I'll go get him."

"No need. I'll go get him." The scientist then walked off quickly towards the lunchroom. Once he was in the lunchroom the scientist noticed the old scientist sitting on his own eating his pastrami sandwich. "Dr. Dez, how is that project going?"

"Ah, Dr. Truly. The project you assigned me has been finished as of this morning." The old scientist said while looking up at the younger one. "I successfully recreated that lost chemical from that war between monsters and humans. We can now control other people's minds." Dr. Dez chuckled as he swallowed the last bite of his sandwich. "I even have some of the... Guests under my control right now. Come with me and I'll show you." The two walked off down a bleach white hall way and then they turned right into a room where three teens stood with expressionless faces.

One, an eighteen year old boy, had messy dark grass green hair with two brown highlights slightly aligned with his eyes, which were dark purple and shaped similarly to a gazelle's eyes. His left arm had a black ring shape around his bicep. His code was the roman numeral for "22" and was on the left part of his collarbone in a dirt brown color. His symbol was a green oval shaped leaf on the right part of his chest.

Another, a sixteen year old girl, had long smooth icy blue hair with gold highlights all over and light gray, almost silver, eyes that were similarly shaped to a seal's eyes. She had the same black ring on her left bicep and her code, the roman numeral for "17," was on her right outer thigh in aquamarine. Her symbol was a snowflake with some rain drops around it in their natural colors on her left cheek bone.

The last was a nineteen year old boy. His hair was wild and a dark purple color while his eyes were navy blue in color, shaped similarly to snake eyes. He also had the black ring around his left bicep, exactly like the other two, and his code was the roman numeral for "36," on his stomach above his navel in maroon. His symbol was a dark purple serpent about to eat a black spider. All of them wore pure white clothing, like everyone else in the H.M.O.T.G lab. Dr. Truly smirked.

"So, you injected 22, 17, and 36 huh? Well, good job. They look nice and controlled. So how does this whole thing work?" Dr. Dez chuckled and stepped forward.

"What's the command?" He asked, glancing over his shoulder to the taller scientist.

"Find the five escapees, both twelves, ten, nine, and that stupid disgusting thirteen." Dr. Truly growled then Dr. Dez nodded.

"Alright." He turned to the three teens and huffed. "You heard him, move!" He snapped and the three went towards the exit, then were given some supplies as well as some clothes that were not white.

The girl, Mesi Everest, wore a baby blue short-sleeved shirt, a slightly dirty army green vest with one pocket on each side, dark blue form-fitting jeans, short black boots, and had her hair up into long pigtails.

The younger of the two boys, Chun Ginkgo, was wearing an army green t-shirt with loose-fitting blue jeans, an autumn orange bandana tied loosely around his neck, and dark brown hiking shoes.

The oldest of the group, Ren Toxicon, wore a black tank top with venom purple straps and hems, worn-out blue jeans, dark gray tennis shoes, and a steel piercing in his right ear lobe that was shaped similarly to a ring. The three were then each given tracking collars with communications that went to the other collars and to the communications center in H.M.O.T.G. They were then sent out, each with a white backpack filled with supplies. Ren took point as they searched for the escapees.

"We'll find them and bring them back... If we don't kill them first..." Ren hissed lightly and the other two nodded in agreement.
