Chapter III
Jean and Emilio stared at each other in shock. "How... How did you know our names...?" Jean asked in a shaky voice. The girl simply grinned, turning around and adjusting the scarf around her neck.
"I'm Kennady Noelle. I know everything about everything. Even about things that haven't even happened yet..." Her voice sounded so confident and cocky it made Emilio want to puke. Meanwhile, while Emilio was disgusted, Jean's face beamed with joy.
"Oh my god, its actually you!!!" She practically squealed, walking closer. "I heard you could teach me about magic! I'm the special one that opened your-" Jean was cut off in the middle of her excited rant my a silencing spell Kennady had cast. "I thought I told you I know everything about everything!" She snapped in irritation, causing Jean to frown and look at the ground.
"Anyways... Yes, it appears you have been chosen by the book. You weren't, by any means, chosen by me. The book chooses its reader." Kennady explained with a sigh. Jean eventually looked up, tapping at her throat to signal that she wanted the silencing spell to be lifted. Kennady swished her hand slightly as a light blue hue trailed the path of her hand, Jean eventually trying to speak. "T-t-testing...?" Her voice sounded cracked and lost, yet she could speak nonetheless.
Kennady continued to explain stuff about magic that Jean already knew and Emilio got bored of hearing. They didn't want to upset her any more than they already did, so they stayed silent and listened. At the end of it all, she swished her hand once more with a lighter blue trail this time, bringing Jean's voice back fully as Kennady reached out for her hand. "Ready to begin your training?"
Jean nodded with a "Hell yeah!" and a wide smile as she grabbed the mage's hand.
"KENNA!!!" A high pitched voice called out, making the three of them jump. A swift trail of yellow dust zooms in from a different room, it eventually stopping next to Kennady's head. It seemed to be a fairy of some sorts, about the size of a pinkie finger. The fairy wore a rather elvish outfit made of red and brown leaves as their purplish hair was cut short and curved upwards.
Kennady merely sighed, letting go of Jean's hand and turning her head to look at the pixie next to her. "What is it, Harley?" She spoke, causing said fairy to growl in irritation and stiffen. "YOU FORGOT TO TELL ME YOU WERE AWAKE! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO WAKE UP SO I COULD GO OUTSIDE! I STILL NEED YOUR PERMISSION FOR THAT, YOU KNOW!!!" Kennady didn't seem phased by the fairy's obvious boiling rage.
"Help me train this fellow magic fanatic first."
Harley groaned, slouching over and letting themselves fall onto her shoulder. "Fine....." Kennady smiled at this, picking the fairy up by their wings and setting them down on one of the shelves. "Now, we can start! What would you like to learn first, young one?"
