Chapter 1: Just a Child
I hear voices in my sleep. It's probably my mom and Betty.
"We need to wake him up Aunt Lilac."
"Let him sleep. He may be your age but he is just a child. He needs sleep."
"Fine."
Footsteps softly hit the ground as my mom leaves. Betty just sits on the bed next to me. She starts humming a nice, familiar tune. I open my eyes. Betty sees and smiles.
"Hey Betty, glad to know you are up."
"I'm always up cousin."
"Right, I forgot, you are the early bird of the family. Even though you are only 5."
"That is right Noah."
I sit up, staring Betty in the eye. "Wanna go outside a practice?"
Betty laughs. "Maybe later Noah."
Betty and I walk out the room to get breakfast, so later we could practice our talents.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember those summer morning with Betty before she moved to the city, back when we were kids. Back then out powers were undeveloped, and I always wonder how Betty is doing now since she moved. Me? I have done well I guess, it is better than it was, since I am alone most of the time. No one really wants to be friends with me, which is fine. My mom and dad are out working, so I can just sit at home, alone with my thoughts. Which is nice every once and a while, but sometimes, it doesn't really work out well. I sit on the couch for a bit, then see a white streak go by on the ceiling, which is weird because the ceiling is black. I look around to find the streak and see it heading into the kitchen. This isn't the first time this has happened, and it probably won't be the last. I get up sand slowly walk to the kitchen. When I get there I see five different chip bags completely eaten, and something moving inside the sixth. I walk over to the counter that it is at. The movement stops as I get closer. I smile, I know exactly what, or who I should say, it is now. "Come out Angel," I say, "I know you are in there." And just as soon as I said it a little white blob came out. It looked like a white blob, but had tiny little wings and a halo. Angel, whose real name is Kenshi, jumps onto my shoulder. The small thing eats a lot for her size. She makes a noise, which I guess it is a type of speaking for her species. My cousin has something like Angel, but also a bit different. "How about we do some training?" I ask Angel, who turns into a staff. I nod and I walk outside with Angel, in staff mode, in my hands.
________________________________________________________________________________"H-hello?" a voice asks. He was sitting in the dark, waiting for his sister to come home from whatever adventure she was having. But sadly, he will never see his sister again. He has been waiting most of the day. He was thinking about going home to sleep, but really wanted to see his sister. A very interesting concept sibling loyalty is, and so is the bond that forms from it. Siblings, though, with such different SOULS have never been able to get along well, but these two do. It is very interesting, very interesting indeed. So interesting, in fact, that people might kill if they knew why these two had the bond that they did. The child eventually goes home, and it isn't until a few days later that he understands what happens t his sister, and with that, his soul breaks apart. He has only enough of his soul in him to live. No one knows much else about this story. I do hope, though, that this child has a lineage in the present time. Now, no one in his family will ever have the full soul ability that he has, not for a very long time. His sister, on the other hand, will never be able to exist again... unless something strange happens. Very interesting.
A/N: Hey guys, so for those of you reading this book, you see something very interesting going on. I am setting up chapters in a way to tell three stories at once. Or so it seems. Anyways, the story order for this chapter goes:
(Child)
(Present)
(Far Past)
This book won't be updated much until I finish Warriors Guild book 1. I hope you guys have enjoyed the stories, as always, I am Colin and I am out.
