"Alexia come on. We must hurry. We don't have much time." Alexia nodded as she was being pulled along behind the Rider named Aldrich as they head through the dark woods buried deep with in the Spine. Normally they would never tread this deep into the spine, but circumstances forced their hands.
With the threat of Galbatorix and the treacherous 13 dragon rider traitors, they knew that it wasn't safe. And under direct orders of the Leader of the Dragon Riders, they were sent to the deepest parts of the Spine. Such that none would ever venture.
As Alexia and Aldrich continued their path, she continuously looks down from time to time at the small bundle she was carrying. The one thing that is more secretive than the eldünarí themselves. The one thing that is one the biggest and the most guarded secrets of the Order: a child. A very special child, one that Galbatorix has planned to launch an attack to obtained.
That's why Alexia and Aldrich have been trekking through the darken woods of the Spine. To find a place to keep the child hidden from Galbatorix. Alexia looked concerned about what she had to do. Concerned enough to voice her concerns to Aldrich.
"Are you sure about this Aldrich?"
Aldrich and Alexia came to a slow stop and stood next to a large tree they were passing. He turned to her, a solemn and grim expression on his face.
"I'm afraid so, Alexia. It's not safe for the child."
"I know but still, to keep the child hidden? Locked away? Tis a horrible fate."
He nodded. "I know it is, but we don't have a choice. Galbatorix will stop at nothing to get the child. And we are under orders."
Alexia started to shake. "I know Aldrich. I really do. But....but I..."
Aldrich came up to her and hugged her gently. "I know Ally. I don't want to do this to our child, but we have no choice. We must keep her safe."
She nodded, tears were welling up in her eyes. She felt him as he put his hand under her chin, pushing her head up to look at him. He spoke in a soothing tone.
"Hopefully when she awakens, the world will be a better place, but for now, it's not safe for her. And we must do what it takes to keep her safe."
Alexia nods her head. With one hand holding the bundle in her arm, she reaches up with her other hand to wipe her eyes.
"You're right Aldrich. We must do this for her."
He nods. Then he steps away and held out his hand, to which Alexia took. Together, then began walking further into the depths of the trees in the heart of the Spine.

After some time walking through the forest of trees, they stumbled upon a lake. They were astonished to find a lake this deep in the depths of the Spine. Aldrich nodded before turning to Alexia.
"This'll be the place to hide her. Don't you agree?"
She nodded. Before looking down at the bundle. She closed her eyes. She was saddened that she will never be able to her child grow. To watch as her child lives her life. But to know that she'll be safe, that turned her sadness to slight determination. She opened her eyes and nodded to Aldrich.
He nodded back, then turned to the water. "Let's begin."
He then began chanting singsong-like in the Ancient Language. While he was chanting, Alexia unwrapped the bundle. As the covering came off, she look at the sleeping face of her child. Palish skin like her own, soft black hair. She was beautiful. Even with certain peculiarities. She placed the child down on the ground. She stood and went towards the trees to see which one would be suitable.
Finally, she found one which was the right size. Then she began chanting in the ancient language. Slowly but surely, the wood started to separate itself from the tree. At the same time, it started to grow a soft-like green moss. After a few minutes, she stopped chanting and looked at what she created.
In front of her laid a large cradle made of wood. The inclining was made of moss, to make it comfortable. Alexia was sure to make it large enough to hold the child as she grew through time. Nature will provide the energy for her to grow until she awakens. She picked up the cradle and headed back to the shore of the lake where Aldrich was still chanting.
She placed the cradle down and stepped towards the child who was still asleep. She knelt down and picked the child up and placed her in the cradle. She gently rubbed the side of the child's face before looking away. She turned her towards what was happening in the lake.
As Aldrich's chanting almost reached it's peak, the water began to twist and turn. Then the whole lake began to glow. He stopped chanting and looked at Alexia.
"It's ready."
She nodded. She looked down and placed her hand on right side of the child's face.
"Sweet Neira. I'm so saddened to say this, but we must say good bye, my dearest child. I wish there was another way, but we don't have a choice." She stopped, tears pouring down her face. Then she continued. "My sweet Neira. I want you to know that though we may not be there to see you grow up to see you grow, we love you with all our hearts. And we continue to love you until the end of time. Rest well my sweet little Neira. May your life be ever great and peaceful. I love you my child."
She plants a kiss on the child's brow. Then she looks up and nods. Aldrich nods back. She slowly began approaching him. Then they began to chant. As they were chanting, the glowing water began to come ashore until some of it was fully under the cradle. Then the water began to drag the cradle until it was floating in the water, away from shore. As the cradle floated to the center of the lake, the water around the cradle began surging up onto the cradle until it went over the cradle and met I the center over the cradle, making it look like a watery dome. Then the water began to freeze until the water surrounding the cradle look like a large piece of ice. Then slowly the large piece of ice began to sink into the water, slowly sinking to the bottom of the lake. Once the last bit of ice went under, the glowing water began fading away.
As the glow went away entirely, Alexia and Aldrich stopped chanting. Alexia looked down as Aldrich spoke.
"Rest well my sweet daughter. When you awake, hopefully the world will be better. For now. Just rest. Your time will come. And when it has, you'll awaken."
He looked at Alexia. "Come Alexia. We must go now. We must help the order."
He began walking away. She looked on still at the lake that now held her daughter. "Rest well Neira."
She turned around and began following Aldrich. They entered the woods, leaving the child at the bottom of the lake.
