The Chipped Mask...
Ink had walked into a version of the FlowerFell AU, which in turn was a very depressing and bleak version of UnderFell. In truth, there were many different versions of every AU, due to the Timelines and their many contingencies...
This version, however, was a version where Fell, or Edge to some people, had never attacked Frisk, to begin with, thus not increasing the flowers. By the end, she'd still be blind, but she'd still be alive... Though that didn't matter now seeing as the AU was being destroyed around him...
Ink felt the sharp stabbing pains in his head as the Royal Blue Strings wrapped around Grillby's dinner/bar, ripping it down and deleting it. "ERROR!!!", Ink called out as the Glitchy laughing Skeleton came into view. But before he had the time to look, Ink had pounced on him, teleporting them to a less populated part of the AU, the Ruins...
Error pushed the smaller Skeleton off, sending him flying across the room they now found themselves in. Ink landed on his left hand and then bounced off it onto his feet before taking out his brush, ready for the fight.
(Tem Skip brought to you by the author that can't write fight scenes for shit! XD)
Error could tell Ink was running out of stamina, the Ruins around them were completely destroyed. Error laughed to himself thinking of how the Creator would have to fix everything after.
Suddenly he watched as Ink grabbed the Red paint vial on his Satchel, and down more than half of it, before placing it back where it belonged. Ink's eye turned into Red 'X's as he readied for another attack... Now, this really interesting Error as he continued to dodge and attack the very angry short Skeleton.
After 25 minutes the vials' effects began to run out as Ink once again lost his stamina, and as he stumbled, Error took this as an opportunity. He sent his strings at Ink who tried to dodge but only partially succeeded, as the strings wrapped around his Satchel, thus ripping it off as Error took his chance to run into an Anti-Void portal with it.
Ink ran after him, he needed that Satchel! It was everything to him! He came to a halt as he stood before the room full of Royal Blue strings, the Glitch standing above on top of them.
"ERROR! PLEASE!!! STOP! GIVE ME BACK MY SATCHEL!!!", the smaller Skeleton yelled in a fearfully worried voice, he could already feel the effects of being without it and the Red paint leaving him... He felt like he was going to puke...
"Ha! And why would I do that? So you can use these to attack me or something? No, oh no my little Squid, I won't be returning this just yet! For ya see I've already figured out that your precious 'Broomie' is not your source of powers, but this!", Error held up one of the vials in his hand, it was the Yellow one. "This is! Now... I wonder? What would happen if I did this?!?!", Ink could do nothing as he watches the Skeleton above him throw the vial to the ground. Although Ink tried his best to catch it before it landed, but it was too late... It smashed in front of him... All he could do was watch, as the Yellow ink-like paint evaporated around him...
...
And then...
The Pain hit him...
Ink hunched over as the remaining Paint in his system was flush out, the Black ink that was once held inside him flowed out of him, from his eyes like tears, from his nose like a bleed, and gushing from his mouth.
Error watched in horror at what was happening to the small Skeleton, he hadn't planned for this... He had hoped to simply tease Ink and then run off with him yelling and cursing at him... NOT THIS!!! He Never Wished To Kill Him!!!
Error snapped back to his senses as Ink began to cease the Black liquid... But... Something was... Wrong...
Ink just sat there... Staring into space... Error made his way over to the paint and ink-soaked Skeleton, "I-Ink... Are y-you ok?", Error crouched in front of Ink, his eye lights were out and he seemed to be staring through him as he closed his eye sockets...
Error immediately knew that something was wrong... Error had grown up with Ink, sure they weren't always the best of friends and had had falling-outs which led to them fighting... But he never wished for something like this...
"Ink?", finally he turned his head to him, but as his eye's opened, Error saw something he'd never seen in anyone... Well... Other than his younger brother...
Ink's eyes were blank... Where there once was the shifting of colours, was now replaced with dull thin colourless specs that held no emotions whatsoever...
Ink got up and walked over to the Black Skeleton, his memory was fuzzy but he could tell that this person was close to him...'Was that a good thing? Or a bad thing?', Ink really couldn't tell... Or care... But when he saw his Satchel he instantly knew what it was, he walked toward the now estranged Skeleton.
Startled Error took a step back, but when he saw what Ink was looking at, quickly walked back over to him, something was wrong and it was all because of this!
They stopped in front of each other as Error quickly wrapped Ink's Satchel around him once more, 'I hope this works...'... But nothing happened... He was missing something...
Ink looked down at the vials, he couldn't remember what they were but he could tell they were important... He picked up the Blue one and popped the lid, something told him to drink it.
Error watched as Ink downed a gulp of the Blue liquid, he looked back at it and Error watched as Ink's eye's turned the same colour as more of the Black ink began to leak from his eyes...
'Was he crying!?!'
But it didn't last long as Ink turned and threw up the Blue paint along with more of the Black liquid... Error began to panic and crash, the man that he'd fought and cared for seemed to be breaking in front of him... And it was all his fault...
Ink, on the other hand, didn't seem to care, he could tell that he was broken... But he couldn't tell why... He also knew that Satchel wasn't doing what it was supposed to do... It was then he realized what was missing...
'Shouldn't I be upset at this?'...
'Why don't I care about this!?!'...
Ink looked down at his hands...
'I'm broken...'...
"Incomplete..."...
Error stared at Ink, confused at what he meant by, Incomplete... But he didn't have much time to think on this as Ink opened a portal to another AU.
"H-hey wait up!", he yelled before following him in.
As Error finished crossing over he looked around to see that this was an AU he'd never been to before. He tried to make a portal but then realized that he couldn't, this was a one-person AU, a 'One-way', only one person could enter and leave this place freely unless they gave another person the ability to come and go as well.
Error took in his surroundings, it was rather empty, excluding a two-story house with a porch, a large Red maple out front, along with Blue picket fence, it was kinda similar to the Anti-Void... The only difference was instead of the empty white space, there were clouds and sky, the floor was all grass, there were hills and Red maples everywhere.
Error made his way to the house and entered without knocking... The interior was fairly simple, Robin's Blue walls, Cherry wood floors, a Dark Green plush couch on the right wall with a birch coffee table in front of it and a flat-screen on the left. Further, in he could see the open kitchen with a back door next to the fridge, there was a small breakfast table as well as anything else you'd find in a kitchen. The left wall also had a staircase leading up to the second floor, he decided to see where they lead.
It wasn't until he got to the second to last step that he heard the loud noises of the thing he'd called his best friend since he'd entered the Anti-Void...
Destruction...
