Jimin looks to Taehyung. They had always been together. Their families were close & immensely worried for their sons. Taehyung smiled weakly, "What ? Is there something on my face ?" Jimin chuckled shaking his head. "아니에요. 태형아, 얼굴에 아무것도 없어요." (No. There is nothing on your face, Taehyung ah.) Tae was confused. The expression Jimin held was not one he was used to seeing. It held so much worry & pent up aggression. "What is it then ?" Jimin never lied when it came to Taehyung. They were close like brothers. "I heard the rumors today..."

Taehyung finally understood what was bothering his friend. The soul gate. "그게 어쨌단 말이에요? 당신은 서울에 가고 싶습니까? 직접 보시려면요?" (What about it ? Do you want to go to Seoul ? To see it for yourself ?) Their dynamic was nothing short of the definition of equals. Jimin never suggested anything that Taehyung couldn't follow him in doing, & Taehyung never went out of his way to leave Jimin behind. It just wasn't who they were. "Would you follow along if that is what I want, Taehyung ah ?"

It was extremely hard to separate the inseparable pair that was Taehyung & Jimin. Currently they were sat in Taehyung' room. "Of course, Jimin. I wouldn't leave you to face this alone." Jimin smiled as he held back tears. He knew Tae would agree, but worried he was enabling the behavior that Taehyung must always be by his side. Taehyung' family was more lenient on him running off & following his heart. He feared Jimin was hesitating because he didn't want to upset his parents.

"This is about your parents, isn't it ? You have nothing to worry about, Jimin. I will always support you..." Jimin wiped his stray tears away, letting out a deep sigh. "You know how they are, Taehyung. They'd never allow me to head to Seoul based a simple rumor." This was very true. Jimin' parents were strict & didn't take lightly to Jimin being super impulsive with his decision making.

"제가 대신 그들에게 물어 볼까요? 나도 간다고 하면 당신을 보내줄 거예요." (Want me to ask them on your behalf ? They'll let you go if I say I am going as well.) Jimin was grateful for Taehyung, He was like his other half. A true friend. Taehyung rested a comforting hand Jimin' shoulder. There was nothing that they wouldn't sacrifice for the other wholeheartedly. Soul or no soul. "I can't ask you to do that. You do enough already for me."

Taehyung abruptly left for Jimin' house. He didn't bother knocking, letting himself in. "Oh ? What brings you by, Taehyung ah ?" Jimin' mother was seemingly the only one home at the moment. Jimin & Taehyung' parents were so close that they called each other' parents mom & dad. "엄마, 지민이랑 같이 서울에 가도 돼요?" (Can Jimin come with me to Seoul, Mom ?) Jimin' mother was shocked by the sudden request, "Seoul ? May I ask why ?" Taehyung caught his breath. He did just run all the way here. "I am going to investigate the rumors. I want to see if there really is a gate holding souls in Seoul."

Jimin' mother sighed. It wasn't like she didn't trust that was the real reason, but rather she was more concerned for their safety. There weren't many places that catered to the soulless. "밖에선 최소한 극도로 조심할래요? 절대 집으로 돌아가지 않았으면 좋겠어요." (Will you at least be extremely careful out there ? The last thing I want is for you to never return home...) Taehyung knew this was a big ask. They had never ventured so far from home ever. "I promise you...We'll return..."

Soon enough Taehyung told Jimin the news that his mother agreed. A true state of shock. They began packing as soon as possible. They shared in last look at each other, saying this simultaneously, "당신에게 평화가 깃들기를." (Peace be with you.) A comment they've said as a endearing form of encouragement for years.
