The rumors of the great gate had spread far & wide. Seoul was home to those who dared to achieve more than what they were given. Life. Let me take you back to my beginning...

I still had my dignity after all. It was hard enough living, but not feeling whole. I looked to the person next to me. My younger brother, Seokjun. "Are you really leaving, hyung ?" I hated the fact I was leaving him. However, he alongside my parents had souls. They were truly alive. "석준아 아쉽게도 가야겠네요. 저는 이것을 더 이상 미룰 수 없어요." (I must leave unfortunately, Seokjun ah. I can't put this off anymore.)

My brother was crushed, no doubt. I had always been there for him. This would be the first time I'd be leaving to do something selfishly for myself. "Is this about that gate rumored to be in Seoul, Seokjin hyung ?" I nodded. I was worried he'd start soon bashing me with insults because he was hurt by my decisions, "It is about the gate. I have to try, Seokjun ah." 

Seokjun was no surprised. Seokjin had always been selfless & took great care of him. Would it be fair to stop his older brother from potentially getting a soul of his own ? "형님, 가시는 걸 보니 슬픕니다. 저도 데려가 주셨으면 좋겠어요." (I am sad to see you go, hyung. I wish you'd take me with you.) I looked at Seokjun, seeing his brother' eye weld up with fresh tears. It wasn't a beautiful site at all. My brother was supporting me, but he was also begging me to change my mind in a way. To bring him along. "I will be back before you know it. Don't worry, Seokjun ah."

Seokjun sniffled & wiped the falling tears off his face. He adored Seokjin & would love to see his brother happy. Most of all, he was worried his brother was willingly leaving to his death. I pulled Seokjun into a warm comforting hug. To calm the nerves of my brother before I left. "You need not worry about me. I am stronger than you think." 

Seokjun began helping Jin pack for his journey to Seoul. This was no easy decision. I had never left home before. Seokjun sighed, "I trust that you can take care of yourself, hyung. I worry that people will think you're naive & take advantage of your pain." I smiled slightly as I looked towards the front door. "I am confident in my journey, Seokjun. I will make it to Seoul at all costs..."

My brother handed me my bags as he opened the door for me. It honestly scared me a bit. Leaving home...Leaving Seokjun...It was finally hitting me. This was it. I barely made it 10 paces from the door when Seokjun yelled out to me. "죽지마요! 난 형제가 하나뿐이고 외동딸이 되고 싶지 않아요! 행운을 빌어요, 형씨!" (Don't die ! I only have one brother and I don't want to be an only child ! Good luck, hyung !) I flashed a smile as I waved to my little brother. I shouted back, "See you soon, Seokjun ah ! I love you !"

I began my journey. No stopping now...
