--But nobody came-- (That was for all my fellow Undertale fans since the part took so long)

It had been about a month since James and I had tried to resonate our souls. We hadn't really tried anything for the past weeks, and I was too afraid to. I still practiced with him in weapon form, but sometimes, after practice, he'd get a bad nose bleed, or a headache. I knew that it was my fault, and I knew that he knew too, but he just continued smiling.

I had also been going on dates with the three guys. In secret, of course. I found it just getting more difficult. I started loving each guy, and I didn't know how—if I would be able to choose between the three of them.

Stein had also spoken to me many times about what had happened when James and I had tried soul resonance. He knew something even though he wouldn't tell me, and I thought that it was one of the most frustrating things. And, I still couldn't speak.

I walked through the park with Skye, looking around. There was no one there, and I sighed with relief, happy that I wouldn't have to deal with people. I sat down on the one of the swings for little kids, and let go of Skye's leash, watching him run around.

I heard footsteps behind me a few minutes later, and I spun around, seeing Black Star. He smiled at me and sat on the swing next to mine. "Hey (Y/n)." he said. He pulled something out from behind his back, and I looked at a big bouquet of flowers.

I smiled and took them, smelling their yellow pedals. Sun flowers. Why did that seem so familiar...

I heard another pair of footsteps and turned, seeing Soul. He was standing there with his hands in his pockets, glancing at me weirdly. "(Y/n)?" he said, confusion in his eyes. Black Star had figured out that I was dating Soul, too, but not Kidd. I didn't know how he had, because I had been really careful, but he had said he didn't care because, since I was only dating them, it wasn't really cheating.

Soul crossed his arms, seeming to figure things out. "So you're dating him too?" he asked, seeming a little hurt.

Black Star laughed a little. "Het over yourself, Soul." He said. There was a little flash of anger in his eyes. I turned as I heard a voice, and saw Kidd. Could this physically get any worse?

"Hey you guys. So you figured out the whole thing with (Y/n)?" he said.

The two of them looked at Kidd. "You too?" they said at the same time. Black Star and Soul glared at each other. They all looked at one another, silently, and then looked at me.

"It was okay until now," Kidd said, being the only one that had known the whole time. Soul made a little noise, the only one that hadn't known anything, and Black Star stood with a deadpan expression. "But now, I think that you should choose only one of us." He said.

Skye ran up to me, and I looked at the three boys. Had this happened so fast? I opened my mouth, but I couldn't say anything like always. "Fine." Black Star said. "We'll fight it out." He said.

My eyes widened as Black Star threw a fist at Kidd. The other guy caught it, and twisted his hand, pushing and sending him into Soul. Soul shoved him off and went after Kidd, punching him in the face.

I stood, my eyes wide. I wanted to yell for them to stop as the fight went on. It got more serious, Soul using his scythe blade, Kidd using some terrifying reaper thing, and Black Star shocking all of them with his wavelength.

'Stop!' I said, my lips moving to form the word. 'Stop... stop... stop...'

"Stop!" my rasping voice said.

The three stopped and looked at me. Their eyes were wide, and they were paused right in the middle of their punches and blows.

"(Y/n)?" Black Star said, looking at me as he lowered his fist. "Did you just..."

I took in another breath. "Stop... damnit..." I said. My voice was rough, and it hurt to talk.

"Did you?" Soul asked.

"Did you talk, (Y/n)?" Kidd asked.

I nodded slowly, not really believing it myself. Where had that come from? The three boys spoke for a moment, seemingly forgetting their fight. I heard them say words like "truce", "delayed", and "let her decide later", and then they whispered about taking me to Stein.

They turned, and looked at me. "We're going to take you to Stein." Kidd said. I nodded, a little scared, to be honest. I had been slightly okay with my situation of not being able to talk because it meant that I could disappear if I wanted to. Now...

Black Star grabbed Skye's leash, and we started walking to the Academy. I was worried, but I could also see the joy in their faces.

Were they happy I could talk?

We made it to the stairs of the DWMA, and we started walking up them. I had been silent the whole way up when we reached the top, and I looked up at the school. It was dusk now, the winter air making it dark early. I followed them into the Academy, all of them walking in front of me, and I fought the urge to turn and run down the stairs, but, then again, where would I run to?

We walked through the hallways, the three boys in front of me whispering things that I couldn't quite catch. Before I knew it, we were to the infirmary, and we stepped inside. "Stein!" Kid said, and I stood in the doorway as they entered the Infirmary.

I bit my lip, seeing the three guys talk to Stein, his eyes flicking around their faces. "She spoke." One of the boys said, and I heard a loud chorus of 'What?'. I flinched a little as the curtain around the bed that Stein had been standing was pulled away, and I saw the rest of my friends, Mari, Liz, Patti, Maka, Tsubaki, and James all sitting or standing there, their mouths open and their eyes wide.

Why were all of them here? All the girls scrambled up and came in front of me, James talking with the three guys to see what had happened. Stein just watched everyone, his eyes meeting mine briefly and giving me a slight nod.

"Say something!" Mari said, shaking my shoulders a little.

"Please don't shake me." I said, my voice coming out quiet. The girls all laughed with happiness and crushed me with hugs, and then when they had all finished I looked at them. "I don't sound weird, do I?" I asked, and they all shook their heads. It seemed that my voice had gone to a more 'normal' tone, all of the scratch gone from my throat and the roughness gone.

"No." Maka said. "You sound like you look." She said, and I was a little confused, but decided not to ask.

"What were you guys talking about with Stein?" I asked as we left the infirmary after Stein had checked my throat to see if there was anything wrong with it or something.

The girls looked at each other and James, and then the three guys. "It's a secret." Patti said, and I scrunched my eyebrows up, and then rolled my eyes. They all laughed.

I was a little giddy from the new establishment that, in fact, I could speak. We walked to the edge where the hallway split off into the student apartments, and then James and I waved goodbye, Skye yipping a little bit, and then we walked to our apartments. James walked me to my door, smiling a little but as I opened it.

"What're you having for dinner?" he asked, and I shrugged.

"I'm not really hungry." I said, and he looked at me with concern.

"You don't really eat much, (Y/n)." he said. "Just be careful with your body." He said, and then a smile came over his face and he hugged me. "It's good to finally hear your voice." He said, and then pulled away from me. "And we can get some more practice in." he said.

I flinched a little. "Okay." I said, nodding.

He ruffled my hair a bit, and I looked up to see his smile. "Don't worry about what happened a month ago. We don't have to use soul resonance either." He said.

I nodded, and then we said goodbye and I went into my apartment. I was really tired, and I was a little hungry, but I ignored my growling stomach and went to my room, changing and flopping on top of the covers, smushing the pillow into my face. Skye jumped on the bed next to me and curled up, his nose squishing into my arms. I started cuddling him and I fell asleep a few minutes later.

It finally happened. Thank you for waiting so long for this part. Sorry about how long it took. At first I was just putting it off because I'm a lazy bean, and then I got a really bad injury and I was bed ridden for three days. It was pretty bad, and I will have to get a MINOR surgery for it, but please don't freak out. I'm not dying. There will be more fan fiction. Anyways, I also got distracted while writing this cause I had to roast some scrubs a few times.
