This is a bad idea...

~Kid’s p.o.v~

I looked down at Mari in the center of the room. She looked terrifying. It was probably my fault. She was out friend, but I guess she had wanted something more from me. She had told me that she loved me, and I had told her that I didn’t feel the same way. Then she had disappeared. When she had come back, she was a mess, and she told us that she had killed Medusa after the which had turned her blood black, just like Crona’s.

She looked around at the students, meeting my eyes for the slightest moment longer than the other students. She looked down, her eyes telling me that she knew that she was a monster.

It was my fault, I knew that. But I loved… I looked over at ____, biting my lip. This wasn’t good. She really could hurt people bad if she was angry or… insane.

I stood up, looking at Stein. “Are you sure that this is a good idea Professor?” I asked.

He shrugged. “Probably not.” He looked over at Mari, seeing her magic crackling over her fingers. “But if any of you die, I can always use you for a dissection. That could be fun.” He said, clicking his screw while chuckling.

“That’s so reassuring…” I said. I knew Mari wouldn’t kill me… at least that’s what I was hoping for.

~Your p.o.v~

Wow. Mari really is sort of scary…

I looked down at her, moving a little closer to Maka. “Are you sure that this is a good idea, Maka?” I asked.

Maka looked over at me, her face blank. “This is a very, very bad idea. Especially if Mari goes insane in the middle.” She looked down at Stein, putting a hand to her face. “I don’t think the Professor thought this through. She could destroy the school…” she said.

I looked back to Mari. Suddenly, I saw her looking at Kid, and I wondered for a second. I looked at Kid and saw that his eyes were guilty. Did he do something to her…?

“Who’s first?” Stein asked and all the students and I turned form looking at Mari to Stein.

“Professor-“ one of the students tried.

He cut them off by a loud click of his screw. “Don’t worry, don’t worry. If Mari goes crazy in the middle, I have Atsuki here.” He said.

We all turned and I saw Atsuki, grading some papers on a desk in the corner of the room, while Rin leaned over the desk, trying to fix his tie, whispering things to him.

“That makes me feel so much better.” The student said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Stein looked over a list of names. “It will be just as if you are fighting a witch, or a keshin, or a student… or all three at once. It should be easy enough. But I’m not giving her any restraints on her magic. So be careful. If I feel you are being hurt to much, I will stop Mari.”

“What happens if we beat her? Will you call us off if we’re hurting her too bad?” Another student asked, their hand in the air.

Stein laughed a little, Atsuki joining him as if they were sharing a joke. “That’s a good one.” Atsuki said.

“What’s so funny?” the student asked, her face getting red.

Stein looked at her. “Kim. Mari had killed four witches, not to mention keshins. The only person that I’ve seen actually beat Mari up, was Lord Death. She beat me, Spirit, Sid. The only time I saw anyone else touch her was when she had hypothermia. And the person who kidnapped her was the Witch Arachne.” Stein looked at the girl over his glasses. “Do you still think that you’ll be able to give her one scar?” he asked.

I shivered as I looked down at Mari, seeing the girl in a different light.

“I would like your soul resonance group to come up first, Kim.” Stein said to the girl who had asked what would happened it they beat Mari.

She nodded and stood, her group coming to the front.

Stein turned around in his spinney chair. “Oh. I almost forgot.” He said, clicking his screw as Mari walked to the middle of the room with bare feet, loosing her shoes somewhere. She stood with her hands at her side, looking off into the sky outside the window, maybe remembering something.

Kim looked at her group. “I think all of the talking was for show, to scare us!” she said. She ran at Mari with her weapon, a fire one. She blew fire across Mari and lit her shirt of fire.

Mari just stood there as someone called out to Stein as Mari’s skin started burning. Kim stood back, ready to attack.

Mari’s face was blank as she looked at Kim, the fire going out and showing her charred chest. My eyes widened. “Mari!” I called out, horrified at the sight of her skin. Then, the burns began to heal, closing and something black seeping out of her skin, covering the burns, then going back into her.

Kim looked at her with wide eyes. “What…?” she asked.

Stein clicked his screw, smiling as Mari held her hand over her chest, covering her new skin, free of scars. Magic flashed over her and a leather shirt formed over he body.

“Did I forget to mention?” Stein said, laughing a little. “You will never make a scar on her. She has black blood.”
