The End: Black Star
Black Star Ending
Mari pulled Black Star in for a kiss, but before she could, I yelped, "No!" in a high-pitched voice.
Mari turned to her, an evil glint in her eye. "So it is Black Star." She said, and an 'ooohhhh' came from the other girls, Soul and Kid looking defeated.
Black Star came forward, and pulled me in for a kiss when the girls started chanting. I met his lips and warmth spread through my body, filling me with a feeling of happiness.
Everyone migrated to the kitchen after that, but Black Star pulled me to a small door leading off of the living room. I followed him, and when he opened the small glass door, I wasn't met by the sight of a rose garden, which is what I thought it would be. Instead I was met by a ton of sunflowers, ranging from small ones, to ones bigger than my head. I saw that all of them had been placed there, and I looked to Black Star, seeing the look in his eyes.
"Did you put all of these here?" I asked him, and he nodded.
I smiled and walked to one, feeling it's soft pedals. I smelled them, and instantly knew that he had bought them from Nora's flower cart. "They're beautiful." I said, and he smiled, coming over to me.
"I knew you would choose me." He said, and I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Oh really?" I asked. "And how did you guess that?"
He smiled, putting his arms around my waist and pulling me closer to him. "Because I know that we're perfect for each other." He said. "Well, you're perfect," He said, and I laughed. "But I'm just the one that you needed."
I felt a blush move onto my cheeks, and I put my arms around his neck. "Stop." I said, and he just kissed me, soft and sweet, just like his sunflowers.

"Mommy!" The little girl said, and I looked over to her standing next to the table.
"What?" I asked, setting my wine glass down and lifting her seven-year-old body onto my lap. "You're getting too big to sit on my lap.
"When are we going to go and see Auntie Mari?" she asked, and the other people at the table grew silent. I felt a pang of guilt in my heart when I saw the look in Kid and his fifteen-year-old son's eyes.
We were at Christmas dinner with all of our friends, everyone coming Kid's house. Liz and Patti had brought their boyfriends, and Tsubaki had brought her husband, her belly round with pregnancy. Maka had come with Soul and their twin daughters from their house in Death City, and Black Star and I had as well, brining our daughters, Angel, who was fifteen, and Amme, who was seven.
Kid lived in Death City, of course, since he was now Lord Death, his father having retired, with his son Samson. As for Mari... Her and Kid had gotten married, and everything had been fine, until after Samson had turned ten. It seemed that something snapped in Mari when her and Kid's second child, a girl named Kori who had been three, died of a terrible illness.
Mari had gone completely insane, her mind snapping. She had been in the dungeons under the school for the past few years. Kid went down there everyday in the morning, and at night, and talk to her and kept her company. Lord Death, even though he was retired, had said that she would remain there until Stein said that she was safe enough to come back. Kid had told me she had her good days, and that she had her bad day. It had torn him apart.
"We can go after dinner, Amme." Kid said, smiling at the little girl, and Samson stood from the table, walking to the living room. My other daughter, Angel, stood and followed him, talking softly to the black haired boy.
The rest of dinner was quiet, and then we all went to our cars and got in them, driving the short distance to the school. Black Star drove, and we were silent. Except for Amme, who seemed happy at the thought of getting to see her aunt. Angel was silent, looking out the window at the passing lights.
We reached the school, and took a black entrance to where Mari was. Kid had made a special place, that was almost like a house, but just in the school, and Mari couldn't get out.
We went into the entrance, and followed Kid to a door that read "Mari" in pretty script. He pressed a doorbell, and there was the sound of a voice from the inside. "Come in!" Mari's voice said, and Kid typed a code into a keypad on the door, all of us waiting as he pushed the door open.
The house inside looked almost exactly like the interior of his house, and I felt a pang in my heart when I saw Mari on the couch. She had a huge smile on her face, her black eyes looking like they were happy. She had a blanket around her shoulders, and there was a movie playing on the TV, which she switched off.
"Kid!" She said, standing and moving t him, hugging him. She looked at Samson standing next to Kid, and she pulled him into a hug, her son much taller than her.
We all moved into the living room, finding a seat here or there, pulling a chair or two from the kitchen. Mari patted the couch where she and Kid sat. "Sorry about the mess." She said, but the room was perfect, nothing out of place. "Kari was playing in here." She said.
A pang ran through my heart, and I bit my lip, I had spoken to Amme to be careful about saying certain things to her aunt, and it seemed that the little girl had understood, and stayed quiet.
"How is she?" Kid asked.
Mari smiled. "She wants to see her dad." She said. "But she's sleeping right now, so we shouldn't wake her." She said. She looked around at all of us, her black eyes scanning everyone. "Where is Liz? And Patti? And Tsubaki?" Mari asked.
"They were tired." Kid said. "They had to go home." He said, and Mari nodded.
"Asuka and Angelica came to spend Christmas with me, and they got tired, so there resting." She said. "But they have to leave in the morning." She said. "And they said that they're taking Kori, too." She said.
I felt tears spring in my eyes at the mention of my two dead friends, but I refused to cry in front of Mari.
I could see tears streaming down Mari's face, but she was smiling like nothing was wrong. "It gets so lonely without any of you." She said. "And the only people I can talk to are dead." She said, and Kid wiped the tears from her eyes.
We reached home, and I carried Amme inside the house, Black Star carrying a sleeping Angel on his back. It was late, and the two of them had quietly dozed off on the car ride home. We brought the girls to their rooms, and then went to ours.
We changed and got into bed, Black Star holding me closely. "I love you." He said to me, and I held onto his arms tightly, his warm body giving me comfort. The tears began in my eyes, and I closed them.
"Don't cry." Black Star said, kissing the black of my head.
"Don't ever let me go." I said, my shoulders shaking, and he held me closer.
"I won't." he said. I nodded, believing him.
I turned and buried my face into his chest. "I love you so much." I said. Everything was okay. It was all okay because he was there.
