Maka and I were the only ones awake now, all the others having fallen asleep. We were just talking quietly about different things, like soul resonance groups and other random stuff like what we'd like our weddings to look like. She said that she didn't want a big ceremony, but her dad would probably insist on throwing something huge.

I leaned back on the couch, not tired what so ever. I closed my eyes and tried to shut my mind off, failing to. "Can't sleep?" Maka asked a moment later.

"Yeah." I said, opening my eyes.

"Same." Maka sighed, and leaned her head back a little, smushing into her pillow.

I looked down at Angelica when she made an odd noise, and I saw as her face twitched strangely. "Angelica I asked, shaking her shoulder a bit. She didn't wake up. Maka moved over to me as Angelica started mumbling something. Tsubaki had woken up and she was next to Maka.

"What's wrong?" Mari's voice asked and she and Asuka moved over to us, awake. Patti and Liz had woken up too, but angelica hadn't even opened her eyes.

"Stop." Angelica whispered, and I shook her shoulder a little, trying to wake her up.

"Angelica!" I said.

Her eyebrows scrunched together, and she made a whimpering noise. "Stop..." She said again, and I looked at Maka helplessly.

"I'll call Stein." Mari said.

"He won't pick up this late though!" I said, beginning to panic.

Mari was digging through her bag, muttering something under her breath. "I have a separate number, to his and Marie's house line." She said.

I looked back to Angelica brushing some of the hair out of her eyes as she made another whimper. "Stop digging around in my head!" she screamed, and I swore that I could feel ice going down my spine at the sound in her voice.

"Stein?" Mari asked, her voice completely calm somehow. "Yeah. Were at Angelica's house... (Y/n) meister." She said. I looked at Angelica as her hands started twitching madly. Mari was saying angelica's address and I whished that she would hurry up. "Yeah... I don't know...I can try... Wait, Stein—" the line seemed to have been cut off as she pulled her phone away from her ear and tapped the screen, shutting it off and throwing it back into her bag.

She came back over and fell next to Angelica's head, moving her hand softly over the girls face and angelica stopped moving. I looked at Mari, horror growing in me as Angelica went limp. "Did you kill her?!" I said, freaking out.

Mari raised her eyebrows at me. "(Y/n). Chill. I just, let's say, if she woke up right now, she wouldn't be able to function quite right." She said.

I looked at her with absolute terror. "You shut her brain off?! She can die if her brain isn't functioning right! It could stop the flow of blood to her heart!" I practically screamed.

She gave me a look. "No. I shut off the parts on her that were more for thinking. If I wasn't to let go of my hold on her brain, she'd simply be like a child; she wouldn't know how to recognize you, she wouldn't remember anything. It's simply so whatever's inside of her mind doesn't have access to her memories for the time being." She said.

I thought about her words. "Whatever's in her mind?" I asked, and then I knew what had happened earlier that night hadn't been nothing. Something had attacked Angelica and now it was inside of her mind. "What's inside of her?!" I said, holding onto Angelica's hand.

Mari looked at Asuka, and I tried to get their attention, but the doorbell rang. Maka stood and ran to it, opening the door and showing Stein and two other people how looked tired, but ready for anything.

"Well that was quick." Mari said as Stein walked quickly to Angelica and bent next to her, pushing Liz and Patti aside. "You always made me wait at least ten minutes." Mari said.

"Did you do what I told you to, Mari?" Stein asked and the girl nodded, coming over and beginning to talk quietly to the professor. "Okay. That'll do for now." He said, and gestured to the two people and one came over, lifting Angelica from the ground and walking to the door.

"What's happening?" I asked, feeling a bit helpless.

"We're taking her to the school and then we'll tell you. Please stay here." Stein said, motioning to Mari to come.

"Why is Mari coming with you?" I asked, wanting to stay with my meister.

Stein looked back at me, his face looking a bit as if he was annoyed. "(Y/n) (last/n)." He said, and I flinched a bit. That was very unlike Stein, but then I realized it was almost three in the morning and he must have been tired. "If Mari doesn't come with us, then your meister could die from her brain being damaged. And if Mari were to withdraw her magic from Angelica's mind, she would be unmovable and if we tried to restrain her that state, she would have a good chance of having a seizure." He clicked his screw, his glasses flashing in the light.

"I'm also taking Mari with us because will most likely take far too much off of her and she'll need to be watched in case, say, her heart were to fail from straining herself too much with her magic." He said, his words drawing out. "Wait here, please." He said, and walked into the elevator, leaving the front door open.

I caught a glimpse of Mari in the elevator, and saw that she was swaying and she almost toppled over. She said something to Stein, and the tall mad placed a hand on her shoulder to keep her upright.

I looked back at Maka as the elevator shut, seeing her worry. Would Angelica be okay?
