Mother

Hey my little weebs~ sorry this part is a little short, but I was trying to update before I left for a school trip.

Enjoy~!

~Your p.o.v~

I couldn't remember where I was, but it was a soft place, like I was blanketed in sheets. I sat up, looking around, only to be met by darkness. I slid my legs out of the bed, or I think it was a bed, and stood, a little shakily.

"Where am I?" I asked to no one in particular, trying to find a light.

"You're in Arachne's castle." A voice said, and I spun around to see a small man standing next to a lamp next to the bed I had been on.

I stumbled backwards, falling to the ground. "Wh-who...?" I asked.

He took off his black hat and bowed to me. "Mosquito, my Lady." He said.

My eyebrows knit together. "I'm not..." I said.

He shook his head. "You are the daughter of the witch Arachne." He said. "Thus, my lady." He said, bowing again.

My mother... Arachne. That was right. I must be in her house. I stood. "Can... can I see her?" I asked.

He nodded. "She had asked to see you as well." He turned, opening a door. He bean walking out into a faintly lit hallway. "Come with me." he said.

I got to my feet and followed him, seeing my clothing had been changed. The hallway had lights every few feet, so there was a slight moment where I was in darkness. After a minute of walking and turning down different hallways, we reached a big brass door, its front shining.

"The lady will see you inside." Mosquito said, bowing.

A bowed to him. "Th-thank you." I said.

He nodded. "It is so good to see the young mistress after such a long time." He said, right as I was walking into the room.

I tried to turn to ask him what he meant, but the door had shut already.

"Hello, daughter." A voice said, and I turned to see the witch Arachne, her body suspended on a giant spider web. "How did you sleep?" she asked.

I bowed a little. "O-okay." I said.

She smiled, folding a fan out in front of her face. "I'm glad." She said. Her body slowly lowered to the floor, and she stood in front of me. "We have much to catch up on, so please," she gestured and a few robbed people in white masks came forward and set a table down, two chair being set next to it. "Sit." My mother said.

I sat down, and someone moved my chair in. "Thank you..." I said, turning to smile at the masked figure, only to see they had already left.

"So. I need to talk to you about what I need you to do." Arachne said, and I turned back to her.  She sipped at some dark tea, a cup being set in my hands. "My sister is dead, and I need your help to bring her back to life." She said.

"Why would you need me?" I asked.

"Your power, my love." She said, sipping her tea as her purple eyes looked at me. "It can bring my sister back, I believe." She said.

I shook my head. "I can bring anyone back to life completely. I've tried." I said.

She smiled. "But I think you can, if you have the person's soul."

My eyes looked up at the beautiful woman, that was supposedly my mother. "But... when a person dies, their soul dissipates." I said.

Arachne laughed a little. "But I do believe, I can get my sister's soul back, if someone ate it." She said.

My eyes grew wide. "You... you can do that?" I asked.

She smiled. "I can use my magic to pull memories, or feelings from someone. I have, many times." She sighed. "But I would need you to call the person who has my sister's soul." She said.

"Anything, mother!" I said, my need for motherly love pushing me forward. "I can." I said.

She smiled. "Then, I need you to call your friends." She said.

I sobered. "But... they're not my friends. I doubt they're even looking for me." I said.

"Well." She said, her eyes glittering. "Call them."

A servant walked forward, holding a phone. "But..." I said. "Who do you need?" I asked.

She smiled. "Mari Ikiru."

Mixed feeling ran through me; fear, rage, jealousy. "Why her?" I said, bitterly.

"She was the one to ear my sister's soul."

I looked at my tea cup, the liquid in it swirling around. "But... what if she won't come?" I asked, looking up at Arachne.

Arachne grinned with an evil light. "Oh, my love. I have something very important to her." She said. My blood went cold as I saw the look in her eyes.

'It's okay...' I thought. 'She's my mother... all she wants to do is bring her sister back to life... and I have to help her.'

"What do you have that's hers?" I asked.

Arachne sipped at her tea. "I took something from her, and she wants it back." She said, and I looked into her eyes as she spoke.

"I took her ability to love."
