She has her own fanfiction if anyone wants to read further into her story. I hope you like her, because I've spent a lot of time developping her.

And also... THANK YOU FOR ALOST 10k ALREADY!!!

~Your p.o.v~

++The next day++

It was Monday now, and Asuka had called this morning and had told me that she was sick. I wasn’t really looking forward to school, because I wasn’t sure how to deal with Soul, Kid, and Black Star. I really did like them, I just didn’t know how to pick one of them.

I sighed, pausing on the steps to catch my breath. It was six-twenty in the morning and I was almost to the top of the stairs. I didn’t get why Atsuki made me get up so early. He and Rin didn’t have to go to school, well, to teach, until seven, and they made me get up at such an ungodly hour. They were probably sitting in bed right now, drinking coffee, or---

My face started burning as I thought about it for a second, then started running up the steps. “No no no no no!” I said and was at the top. My blush started to cool down as I caught my breath. The courtyard at the top of the stairs was, as usual.  I just sighed, thinking about my bed and walked into the DWMA, seeing no one. They had it open this early for the teachers, or the people who did extra class.

I walked to Stein’s classroom and went in, sitting down in the front. I set my bag down next to me and aid my head down, closing my eyes, falling asleep a second later.

When I woke up maybe twenty minutes later, there were a few boys standing around me. For a second, I thought that they were Black Star, Kid and Soul, and then I realized that they weren’t. I sat up and they all smiled at me, sending shivers down my spine.

“Hey girly.” One said. They were clearly students, but some of the bad ones. They were probably in a gang or something.

One grabbed my wrist after looking around the classroom for a moment to make sure no one was there. “Why don’t you come with us? We’ll show you a good time.”

My stomach dropped and I pulled away from the boy. “N-no thanks.” I said.

The one that had grabbed me laughed a little. “Well, we’ll just take you then.” He said, reaching forward and clutching both of my arms this time. I tried to cry out, but one of the other held his hand over my mouth.

They dragged me out, no one noticing somehow. They pulled me onto one of the balconies and pushed me so I stumbled. I hit a tree and slid to the ground. My lungs were screaming as they all walked to me, four of them.

One squatted next in front of me, pulling a strand of my hair to his nose and smelling it. I pushed his hands away and all of them began to laugh. “We lucked out and got a pretty one, this time.” The tallest said. He reached out and grabbed the hem of my shirt. My eyes got wide and I tried to pull away from them but he just grabbed my shoulder, the fabric of my shirt tearing down the front. My cheeks became hot and I tried to cover myself.

“Hey.” A girl’s voice said behind the boys and I looked up, one of the others boys holding my wrist. “Get away from her. Now.” The girl said and all the boys turned letting go of me.

I saw a girl, maybe a little taller than me, dressed all in black with her long blue hair pulled into pigtails, leaning against the wall of the balcony, the trees bright leaves and the grass causing her to stand out. Her eyes were shadowed, but I could see all the scars running down her chest, and then disappearing under her low-cut shirt.

“Are you…?” one of the boys asked, taking a step back. “Is that Mari Ikiru?” he asked.

I jumped. ‘Mari Ikiru? Had I heard of her?’ I thought.

One of the other boys pointed at her. “Just look at her soul! That has to be her!” he said.

The girl, Mari, stood and took a step towards us, maybe ten feet away. All of the boys but the tallest took a step or two back. I couldn’t see her eyes, but I had this odd feeling, just as if…

She looked up at us, her black, glittering eyes raking over us. She smiled, her teeth growing and becoming sharp, looking like needles. Her fingers elongated into razor claws and I felt a wash of magic roll over me.

…Just as if… she was just like me.

She took a step forward and in a movement that I couldn’t track, she was right in front of one of the boys, her claws pressed into his throat. “Leave her alone, or I swear to god…” she said, her menacing dark eyes finishing the sentence. The boy stumbled back and they readied to fight.

“Leave us, or we’ll make you wish that you weren’t ever born.” The tallest said, gesturing to one of the other boys, who glowed and turned into a weapon, a three-foot blade.

Mari looked up at him, sadness filling her eyes. “It’s very hard to make someone wish they were never born, when they were already wishing for that.” She said, and the boy took a step back. Mari walked to him, her eyes unforgiving. “Would you like to feel half the pain I have? Or maybe a quarter? Because I don’t think you’d be able to survive any of it.”

The four boys turned and ran back to the classroom. I looked up at Mari, her back to me. Her shoulders were shaking and I stood. “A-are you okay?” I asked, trying to pull my shirt together to cover myself.

She turned, smiling at me with her teeth looking normal again. “I’m okay.” She looked into my eyes, her black ones a little hard to meet. “They didn’t do anything to you, did they?” she asked.

I shook my head. “They just tore my shirt a little.” I said, my heart still racing with adrenalin.

Her eyes widened. “Here! Let me give you my shirt…” she said, pulling off her jacket and beginning to unbutton her shirt.

“Uh-uhm that’s-“ I began, then turned as she pulled her shirt off. My face was hot and I held my hands over my eyes.

“Here.” She said, and a soft piece of fabric landed on my head.

“B-but then you won’t have a shirt!” I said.

She laughed a little. “I’ll be okay. I can just form myself another.”

I turned to her, a little confused. “What do you mean-“ then I stopped as I saw that she hadn’t put her jacket back on, and her back was exposed. My lips parted as I saw the two, long black scars down her back. It looked as if something had been ripped away from her flesh, leaving the ugly marks.

She looked at me over her shoulder. Her eyes were surprised for a moment, then they became sad. “Oh. Hah. You saw them.” She ran her hand down her back, her fingers bumping over the scars. “Yeah.” She turned around, causing me to blush.

I quickly closed my eyes. She was wearing a bra, but I was still embarrassed.

“These are almost as bad.” She said, and I opened my eyes. There were three, long red keshin eyes on her stomach, stretching from her collar bones, over her thin ribs, and down to her hips. They were probably what I thought were scars earlier.

I couldn’t help but stare at them. For some reason, I found them beautiful, not ugly. “I’m sorry…” I said.

She shook her head. “That’s okay. It’s not like it was your fault or anything. Now put the shirt on and I’ll show you my secret.” She said and I nodded, keeping my eyes down and moved behind a tree. I pulled my torn shirt off and dropped it on the ground and pulled Mari’s black button up over my shoulders, making a little noise of happiness at the soft feeling of the fabric.

I walked back to Mari, seeing her looking out over Death City, her hair fluttering. I walked to her and tried not to look at her scars. “Thanks for the shirt, Mari.” I said.

She turned, smiling. “No problem.” She grinned. “Now to show you my… other secret.” She closed her eyes, and once again, I felt magic roll over me. Dark light passed over her body and a shirt that had a long neck and showed her midriff. The red eyes were bright against her skin.

“Are you… are you a which?” I asked, a little confused.

She shook her head. “It is one long story, but basically, my father was a human, descended from a weapon family, but not one himself. And my mother…” Mari stopped. Her hands were trembling and her eyes were full of terrible memories. She ducked her head. “Well. She was a keshin, but a which too. So I have her magic.” She said.

There was silence for a minute between us and I bit my lip, feeling bad for asking her such a personal question. I looked at her. “My name is _____, by the way.”

She looked up at me and smiled. “Nice to meet you, ____.” She looked around. “And… we’re late to class. It’s seven fifteen.” She said.

I blanched and looked around. “Ah! I can’t be late!”

Mari laughed a little. “Well, let’s go get to class then!” We walked together to the classroom, not bothering to hurry since we were already late. Mari had her jacket on, but it wasn’t zipped, so it showed the eyes.

When we reached the classroom, Mari opened the door for me. We stepped in the middle of Stein lecturing everyone and I blushed as I saw Soul, Black Star, and Kid, then blushed harder when I realized that everyone in the classroom was staring at us.

Stein sighed. “Why are the two of you late?” he asked as I walked quickly and took my seat next to Maka, who had my things.

Mari walked to Stein and pulled something out of her jacket pocket. I strained to see it like the rest of the class, until I saw that Stein had pushed it into a drawer after seeing what it was.

“Today, I have asked Mari to come to school and help me in class.” Stein said, erasing what was on the board.

I stopped for a second. “Mari isn’t a student?” I asked Maka.

Maka nodded, looking fondly at Mari. “Mari is friends with us. She was a student, but, after a lot of things happened to her, she stopped.” Maka looked sideways at me. “Were you out on the roof with her?”

I nodded. “She saved me from some bullies.” I said.

Maka nodded. “Okay.”

Stein was talking again and we turned back to look at him. “You will be fighting Mari in your soul resonance groups.”

One student at the front who clearly didn’t know what Mari was started laughing. “Three meisters and their weapons against one girl? That seems a little mean to Mari.” The girl laughed.

Mari pulled her jacket off, setting it on Stein’s desk, and the girl shut up as soon as she saw Mari’s back, half of the scars showing below the hem of her shirt. Mari took in a breath, turning with her eyes closed, and as I watched, her teeth began to grow into the needle teeth from before, and her hands turned to the sharp claws. She opened her eyes, the darkness in them clear. She flipped the hair from her eyes and looked over the students.

“Now.” Stein said, enjoying the fear that came from the students. “Who wants to fight first?”
