It was really cool of Lord Death to let _____ off the hook. I'm glad, because, I just worked up the courage to ask her out. I just hope that Black Star and Kid didn't have the idea before me. And Kid... it seemed like she was into him more than me, or Black Star for that matter.

I better keep an eye on that Symmetry Boy.

~Black Star's p.o.v~

Damn. _____ is hot. Especially when she looks scared. Ah yes. I'm going to ask her out after she talks with Mari and Asuka. Shit! I think Tsubaki is looking at me!

~Kid's p.o.v~

I need to make sure that _____ doesn't get hurt by Mari. She's not stable. This could be bad. But, I also need to make sure that the others don't get to her before me!

~Your p.o.v~

I felt so terrible for what I had done to Mari and Asuka as I walked down the DWMA hallways. They were going to hate me forever.

I saw the infirmary door and held my breath. I stepped closer and stopped for a moment, my heart racing faster. I put my hand on the door and opened it slowly, biting one of my lips when I saw a form in a bed.

Mari was sleeping quietly, her eyes closed her and charred fingers were bound in linens. I looked up a little and saw Asuka with her fingers laced into Mari's. Her eyes looked as if she was on the brink of tears, her lip quivering.

I stepped in, the door squeaking slightly. Asuka's eyes flicked to me, all the emotions leaving her face. She stood slowly, her movements jerky from the closed wound in her side.

"_____..." she said.

I stood there, my hands gripping the edge of my shirt while I caught a glimpse of one of Mari's raw fingers. "I... I came to thank you." I said. I looked up into her eyes, the gold flecks standing out in the warm light. "And to apologize." I finished.

She nodded. "I'm sorry." She said.

I looked at the ground, feeling guilt crush my heart. "For what? I'm the one that should be begging for your forgiveness." I whispered.

She tilted her head to the side, and I glanced up at her. "Because I blamed you." She said. "For what Arachne did. You may have gone with her, but you were only confused." She sighed as she looked at Mari's sleeping form. "I know what you were feeling. That's why I went to Arachne in the first place. So, I forgive you. And I'm not sure about Mari," she said, looking at the other girl. "But I think she'll be able to forgive you, eventually at least." She said, folding her arms.

I nodded, a great ball of feelings in my chest dissipating.

Her red hair drifted as she turned away from me. Her hand moved quickly, swiping a tear from her face and I wanted to comfort her, but I know it would've been only harder for her. "And, in case those three boys were wondering," she turned, the tears being held back in her eyes, and she smiled. "I've realized you're not my type, girl." She looked back at Mari. "I like people who need me, and who aren't indecisive."

It was an insult in its own, and it hurt (even though I had never liked her), but it was good. "Thank you, Asuka." I could feel tears coming on, and I held them back. "I hope we can still be friends."

She looked at me. "Yeah. That sounds good."

We looked down as Mari began to stir. She sat up, not even wincing as she looked at Asuka, a smile breaking her face. "Hey beautiful." She said, rubbing an eye with a bandaged hand.

Asuka smiled with joy, then glanced back at me. "You better choose one of those boys." She said.

I turned and left, feeling sad, but as if it was right. I looked up as I heard footsteps, three pair to be exact...

Time to choose...

I don't want to though... not yet.
