"Oi Blair! What happened to all the milk?" Souls eyes peaked from behind the fridge door. The purple bakeneko grinned at the demon,
"Sorry shark-boy, Blair had her kitties over last night." She curled back up on the top of the couch as Soul sighed.
"Maka! We're out of milk!" He shut the fridge.
The Phoenix called back from her (lava hot) shower, "We can go shopping later if you want!" Soul groaned. Normally he would let Maka go by herself, but the EMA had been awfully quiet.
"Sure that's fine!"

Maka would never admit it out loud, but she loves when Soul goes out on errands with her. She doesn't know why, but it makes her really happy seeing him push the cart behind her or carry her shopping bags as he sits on the bench (with-ahem- all the other boyfriends).
She scanned the isles, looking for curry powder that will be used for tonight's dinner. As her hand was enclosed around her preferred choice, her back pocket vibrated.
"That's not my phone..."
She reached to grab her compact mirror.

"I'd better get to Soul" she pushed her cart to where her partner was taking an awfully long time....now she knows why.

Normally, it would upset Maka, but now she could play girlfriend with him (not that she wants to or anything...hehe God forbid).
"Soul!" She grabbed his arm "I got a message, we need to leave."
Souls eyes brightened at the sight of her. This is going exactly as he imagined it would if Maka was really his.
"Uh excuse me..." They ignored her.
"Alright Maka, where you go I follow. Bye Sasha!"
"It's Sarah!!!"

The two walked in giggling about the girl's (Sasha) failed attempt.
"Well I'm glad you two had fun on your date, but we are in serious danger."
Kid stepped out in full form.
Soul bloomed in red, Maka had pink cheeks, but ignored it
"What's the situation?"
He nodded to the theater doors,
"Go find a seat."
As they sat down, Lord Death walked out on stage, human(?) form.
"Everyone please settle down this is an important announcement." He sighed before straightening up, "It appears that monster-hunting organizations have decided to go against our agreement." Everyone gasped and started whispering.
"As you know," Kid stepped out, "the monster-hunters agreed to leave our students out of their list, as long as we never do harm."
Lord Death spoke again, "For some reason they have informed us that this agreement no longer stands."
There was an outburst of yells and snarls. His voice carried over the crowd.
"Please remember to stay with your partner! You are dismissed!"
The two walked out quietly behind the rest. Soul had a shadow covering his eyes, making Maka feel uneasy.
"Maka, Soul, I need to speak with you."
Kid faced them in his human form.
"I feel I know the reason to the contracts termination."
"Why? How do you know?"
"This is just a theory, but the contract was based on the promise that our students won't cause any trouble. However the past two years of the tournament had gotten out of hand." Maka had a blank expression, but Soul was furious,
"But that wasn't our fault it was that bastards!"
Kids eyes narrowed at him,
"Soul I would appreciate if you kept your voice to a minimum."
Soul shrunk back, but whipped his tail back and forth.
"We were the only ones that made a contract with them, and since we were involved the contract was broken. But I'm still confused on why they chose to target us; since the EMA students are just as much as a threat."
This peaked their interest.
"I feel as though the EMA is behind this." Kid closed his eyes and sighed.
Soul just grind his iron teeth.
The voice in his head cackled,
"Those guys sure are sneaky huh? Maybe you, the lick of fire, and the horse will come up with a counter attack hhmmm? Things are getting interesting."
