"Yeah?'' his partner looked at him with concern, she looked at him with concern. Her! The one in the infermery!

"Your ok..." he sighed, looking at her with a soft realived expression.

"Yeah I woke up a few seconds ago, but you sleeping next to me, and drolling all over my blanket. He looked down, and sure enough, there was a puddle of his drool staining the white sheet. His cheeks tainted pink as he rubbed his lips dry.

"Mmmff sorry."

"Maka what was that?" Tsubaki leaned in closer to the pale girl.

"I dont know...Ive never done that before." Her dull emerald eyes were filled with confusion.

"Ill speak to father about it after hes done having a word with Eibon." Kid had a finger on his chin, yellow eyes just as calculating.LIz and Patty standing next to him eyeing him with worry.

"But that was so cool Maka!" Black*Star gave her a thumbs up and grinned wide.

"Your purple balls of fire saught him out like heat-seeking mistels!"

Everyone around her nooded in agreement. Maka just smiled,

"Actually I dont remeber all that much..." they stared at her in shock, this caught Souls attention.

"Seriously?!" They shouted.

Maka just sweat dropped, "yeah...I just sort of blacked out..." she laughed nervously.

"Well we will leave to rest." Liz started to push her team out.

"Yeah see you later Maka!" Black*Star marched out, Tsubaki bowed and followed her partner. As soon as the door closed, Soul lanched himself at his love. She was ataken back, but smiled and wrapped her arms around his back, rubbing it in circles. His tears fload down his tan cheeks, one by one dripped on Maka's hospital grown. He kept on spuddering out apologies, having felt helpless for the second time. He promised to get stronger, but that didnt prevent her from fighting him, from her having to drain her power and hang on to her life by a thread.
Maka murmured sweet nothings in his ear, reassuring him that she was fine. She squeezed him tight, feeling his tight muscles tighten and shudder as he has one of his rare crying fits. Some may sputter and roll their eyes at the mention of 'the Soul Eater' crying. But that's the thing, she knew him better than that. She knew Soul Evans, the little boy who would run to her in tears after he was struck for doing a less than satisfactory performance. The teen who shed a tear after she first hurt herself in battle. She felt an odd sense of pride that she would come to her after his 'cool guy' walls were torn down. He was secretly sensitive and fragile, only around her. She loved him and his delicate heart, with all of hers.
"Are...are you alright?" He chocked out after his tears slowed.
"Yes Soul I'm just fine, a little tired is all."
He let out a sigh, squeezing her close to him once more before sitting back and entwining his hand in hers.
"Hey, Maka." A shadow covered his puffy eyes, "promise me something."
Her large green eyes blinked at him before squeezing his hand
"What is it Soul?"
"Promise that you'll always stay by my side, and never leave."
"I can't to that Soul," he head snapped up in shock "unless you promise the same. "
She smiled so warm, he couldnt look away. She wouldn't even have to ask, he would follow her to the end of earth and back.
"Of course, Maka. "
Their hands squeezed again, as their mind sung in unison
