Chapter 36 -- "Who's Shrek?"

RE-CAP

"Will you, English of Alnmouth, do me the honour, of being the Big Bad Wolf's wife?"

My eyes widened slightly, as the realisation of what would actually happen tonight if we went through with this finally fully sunk in when he compared it to marriage. My chest tightened slightly, and my fists clenched until my knuckles turned completely white. The actual title of fiancé kind of put it in perspective for me, even though I knew it was still the rest of our lives if we got together tonight.

Sighing loudly, I slowly lifted my shirt and threw it aside, climbing off the bed and going down on my knees next to him. My throat dried up slightly at the look he was giving me, as it struck me as both predatory and anticipating. I brought up my hand and gently stroked the side of his face, taking in his ever feature; from his slightly crooked nose to his heavily stubbled jaw. Damn he was hot...

God damn pressure's coming back...

"...Well?"

Leaning forwards slowly, I wrapped my arms around his warm shoulders and brought out naked chests closer together skin to skin; burying my head into the crook of his neck and breathing in deeply through my nose. I got the scent of sweat, cologne and Chris... and I loved it. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with it.

"Yeah....Yeah, I will."

Chapter 36

Danny's POV

Groaning slightly in my sleep, I slowly stretched my arms and legs with a slight click of the joints, releasing my limbs from their stiff state. A soft yawn escaped my lips as I slumped back down on the mattress with a content sigh. I slowly felt myself falling back to sleep, but decided against it as it was probably breakfast time soon.

It took a few moments, but my eyes slowly squinted open to find the light pouring in through the window and blinding me slightly, causing me to blink rapidly before bringing up my left hand to shield away the intruding nuisance.

Once I came to adjust, my hand gradually slid from my forehead down to rub the crook between my neck and shoulder; feeling the slightly raised skin from where Chris...um, marked, last night. I couldn't help but wince slightly at the dull throb coming from the bite mark itself, wondering if I regretted what I did.

Surprisingly... no, I didn't.

Turning my head towards the emanation of heat next to me, a small smile tugged up on my lips as I saw his peaceful face laying only a few centimetres away from mine. His dark stubble was becoming more and more pronounced by the day, growing to the point where it was set to become a full grown beard soon. Not that I was complaining, it suited him perfectly.

I blinked lazily at the man next to me, bringing my hand away from my neck and going to caress the side of his face. His beard I found was surprisingly soft yet... prickly; a sensation which fared quite interesting... last night. However, his now slightly shaggy hair was even softer. As in, it felt as if he bathed in hair conditioner or something.

He moaned slightly in his sleep from my lazy stroking, his face scrunching up slightly as he shifted in his sleep. I continued to smile as I watched him, the man I love, sleep peacefully naked next to me; without a care in the world it would seem.

It was a calming moment... had it not been for the flash of black on my wrist I got from the awkward angle of my hand. Halting my caress hesitantly, I did a double take as I realised that my wrist now held a sort of symbol upon it which was not there last night...

Deciding in my confused state to attempt and wash is off, I slowly got up from the bed with shaky legs while wrapping the sheet underneath my armpits like a towel, leaving Chris on the bed with nothing but a blanket as I gradually made my way to the conjoining bathroom. My head was foggier that usual for some reason, and my legs stiff from the strenuous activities last night. Speaking of strenuous activities, my downstairs area was also rather sore;

Haven't felt that in a while...

Slipping into the little room, I turned the tap to warm water and began rubbing my skin in an attempt to get the rather large mark away; my muddled brain thinking it was nothing more than a random smudge I picked up somehow during the night.

However, after a few moments of continuous scrubbing the mark still hadn't gone, and on closer inspection I realised it was far from random... In fact, it looked like a tattoo.

Picking up on this, I began to take in the detail of the symbol like parasite; tracing the circle like tattoo made out of three rows of intricate lines which had now probably decided to grace my body for the rest of eternity.

Sighing loudly, I decided to ask Chris about it later and began inspecting the bite mark in the mirror; surprised at how healed it actually looked. It was slightly red and would definitely leave a mark but I clearly remember his teeth getting right in there... so how come it was that healed already after only one night? Once again adding it to my list of things to ask Chris, I glanced up at my face to examine the catastrophe which was my hair only to freeze in my tracks at what I saw.

"CHRIS!" I screamed, staring at my eyes in both disbelief and shock. Instead of the cool blue/grey eyes which usually greeted me in the morning, now only one stared back at me. The other... the other had decided it wanted a new lease of life.

I heard scrambling and a thump followed by a slight grunt before Chris practically threw himself into the bathroom butt naked, grabbing me immediately and practically throwing me behind him, "What is it?! What's going on?!"

Ignoring his obvious paranoia I turned and grabbed his hand to face the mirror, "Look! Look look look look look look..."

"...Holy shit!" He muttered after noticing the stark contrast in which now my eyes had taken upon themselves to obtain, "Look at that..."

Kneeling down slightly to my height in order to get a closer look, he turned me to face him completely as I stared at him in slight fear, "What's wrong with me?"

"I don't know, it has to be something to do with last night." He muttered in return, switching to look between both eyes in fascination, "Holy crap, that's amazing..."

"Yeah, no shit, Sherlock." I replied sarcastically, turning back to examine my iris' once more. My right eye was completely normal, the same blue grey colour which it had always been. But my left one was now a light brown colour which contrasted greatly. I didn't know whether it was appealing or not, but what I did know is that it freaked me the Hell out. "Plus, there's this."

Showing him my wrist, he gently took my wrist in his hands with furrowed eyebrows before his face quickly relaxed as he suddenly nodded in understanding, "Now that's normal. Everyone get's it when their mated as to prove which pack their from... it's a skin pigmentation thing its really weird and sciencey.. Yvane'll explain it to you later if you want. Sorry about that by the way... really should've explained it better to you beforehand..."

"Ya think." I muttered, thinking back to the moment after I was bitten, and how that something over took my body to return the favour; causing me to cringe slightly. Looking up at him in the mirror, I examined his shoulder only to find the same mark that I had but slightly smaller. Ew... I did that...

"But if it makes you feel better, I probably have one somewhere as well..."

"What? Where?" I asked, examining his body but not finding anything other than the fine specimen which was Christopher Childes. Motioning for him to turn around so I could see his back (And maybe his arse was a bonus), a slight gasp left my lips as I fell upon the massive mark on his back, "Holy Crap! It's huge!"

He chuckled slightly at that, "You know I really would've appreciated that more if you said it when I was facing you."

"Ha ha," I replied sarcastically, gently tracing the new tattoo like symbol; exactly like mine but much larger as it took up the majority of his upper-back, "But seriously... wow..."

"How's it look?" He asked, arching his head slightly to try and see the giant mark in the mirror, "Oh, Jesus. That is huge."

"Told you.  Is there anything else I should be looking out for?"

"Wow... I look kinda badass..." He muttered to himself, still examining himself in the mirror.

Face falling into a dead-pan look, I cocked my hips slightly as he continued to check out the mark on his back, "Chris."

"Hmm?" He asked, glancing at me before doing a double take at my stance and straightening himself out while clearing his throat, "Sorry, what?"

"Having fun?" I asked sarcastically in amusement.

He shrugged with a grin, "Can't complain."

"Is there anything else I should be looking out for? Am I gonna start sprouting a phallus or something?" I asked, genuinely hoping that no, I wouldn't.

"I hope not. You're going to be pretty weak for the next couple of days... other than that, you should be alright." He replied, as I turned back to look into my newly formed eyes in the mirror. Damn, they're freaky...

Feeling arms wrap around my waist and hug me from the behind, a shiver ran over my body as he nuzzled against the bite on my shoulder; his beard tickling against my shoulder.

He began to gently kiss the area around the mark, a slight smile on his lips, "What?"

"Just thinking how good you look right now." He muttered in reply, trailing kisses up my neck and nibbling on my ear, "... Wife."

"... Now that's something that's going to take a while of getting used to." I chuckled slightly in return, turning with a sigh and wrapping my arms around his neck, "You know... thinking about it, stuff really did escalate quickly last night."

"You think so?" He asked huskily in return, his bed head as messy as they come. Nodding with a 'mhmm', I moved my hand down slightly to stroke his chest dotted with dark hairs.

"Do you regret it?"

"I don't know..." I mumbled, biting my lip with a slight smile and leaning up to whisper in his ear, "How about you give me a reason not to?"

He didn't need a second invitation.

Lifting me suddenly, a sharp laugh escaped my lips as he sat me down on the sink counter before stepping in-between my legs. Both smiling, he leaned his forehead against mine and stared intensely into my newly reformed eyes. Our smiles slowly dropped as the electric current between us began to grow in intensity and weight, the air between us almost suffocating. My tongue slowly licked my now dry lips, causing his eyes to flicker down before returning to me, "Beautiful."

Unlike last night, he leaned forward and gently pressed his lips to mine; his tongue asking for entrance gradually which I granted immediately. Our mouths moved in sync; nibbling, sucking and licking gently as my heart began thumping in my ear. My hands began to play with the hair on the base of his neck as his tongue caressed mine.

Breaking away breathlessly after few minutes, he took my hand and placed it against his chest and leaned forward slightly to hunch over and rest his head on my shoulder, "This is what you do to me."

Underneath my palm I felt a rapid and heavy thumping, which after some moments I realised was his heartbeat within his chest. Curling my fingers against his chest slightly, a small smile graced my lips as I leaned my head slightly to support against his on my shoulder.

"I love you."

"I love you, too." He murmured in return, gently kissing my neck as my eyes closed in bliss. And I truly did. More than I'd ever done with anyone outside my family before. Heck, maybe even more than members of my family.

No... Definitely...

We stood there for God knows how long, just me sitting on the counter with him hunched over my frame with his head in the crook of my neck. I started to worry he'd fallen asleep if I'm honest...

Taking a deep-breath, my eyes slowly flickered open to see the newly installed shower in the corner next to the Victorian styled bath, a dirty thought coming to mind, "Hey Rover?"

"Hmm?"

I smiled slightly as tingles began to spread over my body at the thought of what I was about to suggest, "Care to join me in a shower?"

***

Towel drying my hair, I emerged from the bathroom in my baggy genie pants and blue t-shirt, Chris leaning against the door-frame with a tooth-brush in his mouth and nothing but a pair of camouflage cargo pants on and grey socks, "So I was thinking..."

Throwing the towel into the hamper in the corner, I grabbed my hairbrush from on top of the dresser and turned to him while brushing through the mess which was my hair. "Yeah?"

"Yeah... when I get back from this trip, I'm going to do everything properly. Ring and all." He said, removing the toothbrush from his mouth and seemingly deep in thought.

"Really?"

"I want to do this right. For once have something normal in our lives... I think it'll be good for us."

"It's up to you," I replied, turning and smiling slightly as an idea hit me, "Do you want me to act all surprised when it happens? Start crying? Recite a poem?"

He gave me a dead-pan look, "...Shut up. Support me on this."

I threw my hands up in defence, "Okay, sorry."

"Thank you."

I suddenly reached a snag in my hair, the yank causing a sharp sting in my scalp and an audible wince to escape my lips, "Goddammit."

"What?" Chris asked from the doorway, his voice muffled slightly from the toothbrush in his mouth.

"I hate my hair." I muttered, roughly getting through the tangle until it finally smoothed out and took out half of my hair in the process, "You guys have no idea how lucky you are not having to deal with this shit."

"Why don't you cut it?"

Sighing, I dropped my arm to my side and slowly shook my head, "Nah... they made us keep it short back in Russia; I guess I can't stand having short hair anymore... I think it's a freedom thing."

"Well..." He began, removing the toothbrush from his mouth and making his way across the room, grabbing my waist from the behind while facing us towards the mirror, "I think you look beautiful either way; and if you want, especially with long hair. "

"Really? You don't think I look fat?" I asked jokingly, leaning back into his embrace.

"No, it's actually really slimming." He replied in equal sarcasm, a small chuckle escaping my lips from his words. Tapping my nose with the backside of his tooth-brush, he gradually began nuzzling against me and taking deep-breaths; placing gentle kisses along my skin.

Feeling my breath hitch, my heart began to accelerate under his lips and pressure once again began building-up in my abdomen. Feeling my excitement grow inside and his on my thigh, I quickly shook my head and turned to face him.

"No, come on. We have to face the world at some point. Plus, pretty sure it's almost breakfast time..." I chuckled, pecking him on the lips before an idea hit me, "Actually what time is it?"

Stepping away, I made my way towards the bed and jumped over it in order to pick up the holographic digital clock on the other side, stretching slightly across the covers as I never made it fully across, "Holy shit... its 4PM!"

"Bit later then breakfast, then." He chucked, inserting the brush back into his mouth and retreating back to the bathroom, "Come on, let's see whose home and then grab something to eat before I finish packing."

***

"Holy Jesus on a stick! What happened to you?" Lucy cried once I entered the living-room, Chris' arm slung around my shoulders and a scowl on my face at her words.

"Thanks for the bolt of self-worth there, babe." I muttered huffing slightly. Without even looking, I could sense Finn and Cody's almost giggling like state on the sofa with Grace, causing another huff to escape my lips, "Shut up, Cody."

"I didn't say anything!" He said, obviously holding back laughter while bouncing Grace on his knee. "And Good AFTERNOON, by the way. Up late last night were we?"

That got a burst of muffled laughter from Finn and a high-five.

"Guys, leave them be." Yvane commanded, walking in while drying her hands with a tea-towel. "Holy Crap! What happened to your eyes?!"

Well this was going well....

"Again, thank you." I muttered, half hiding my face into Chris' chest in an attempt to block them from view, "And f**k knows I know."

"Shit that look so... well, I'll look it up later for you if you like? Make a few calls to some confidants..."

"Don't make it sound as if I've got some illegal disease." I muttered, beginning to think that I was being treated like the first zombie in the apocalypse.

"Sorry... you hungry, Sweetheart?" She said, changing the subject which I was kind of thankful for. Feeling the emptiness of my stomach, I ignored the guys and nodded, pulling back slightly from Chris' chest.

"Sure, what's for Dinner?"

She merely shrugged and looked towards Lucy, causing the Australian to sigh loudly, "Seriously? Pretty sure this is illegal manual labour. I've made every meal for the past three days."

"Babe, pretty please?" I pouted, giving her the best baby face I could manage. "I mean, look at me. I could be dying..."

A sudden growl sounded in my ear, kind of like thunder, "Can you not say that please?"

"No, you had sex. There's kind of a big difference."

"Some would argue different." I argued, ignoring Chris' outburst and wanting food. I was hungry...

"... I can't I'm going out with Jack tonight."

"Hey! How is the Jack-Attack?" I grinned, forgetting about my sad facade and thinking of Lucy's new 'friend' who was obviously dating her but too shy to admit it. I mean, they'd been going out together almost every week since the night they met (when we went to the bar after I was fired), and were damn too flirty to only be 'just friends'.

"He's fine, thank you." She replied pointedly.

"...Bet he'd feed me..."

"Alright fine!" She cried, throwing her arms up in the air before turning and heading to the kitchen, "How does curry sound?"

"Sounds perfect, thanks!" I called back, as Chris went to kiss my cheek and pull away.

"Good cause I ain't making anything else!"

"I just need to talk some stuff through with Cody before I leave, okay? Mind giving us a shout when food's ready?" He asked, gesturing for Cody to get up and follow him.

Nodding, I pulled away "Yeah sure, no problem."

Cody handed Grace to Yvane before getting up with a slight groan, cracking his back as he went, "Damn, I'm too old for this."

"You're 26." She pointed out in disbelief, placing Grace on the ground in front of her and allowing her to play with her toys.

"Right, old."

"I'm 28!" She cried, as he went to leave the room.

He seemed to notice his mistake, hesitating slightly before turning fully and blowing a kiss, "And the sexiest Goddamn woman I've ever met."

"We're having a talk later." She scowled, crossing her arms and huffing back on her armchair in contempt. He visibly gulped before nodding and following Chris out of the room.

Sighing loudly while collapsing next to Finn on the sofa, I slowly turned my head and slapped my hand down on his thigh, "How's it going, chicken pie?"

He didn't reply, merely continued to stare at me in silence.

"What?"

"Oh, sorry were you talking to me? Couldn't stop staring at your freak sex eyes, things are distracting."

"Ha ha," I muttered sarcastically, shoving him slightly and making myself more comfortable on the sofa, "You're a dick."

"And you're the arsehole. Who do you think dominates?"

"Ew!" I cried, not being able to hide my amusement and chuckling slightly. Turning to look at the telly, I was determined to one up him in the insults department, "By the way, Shrek called he wants his face back."

"Who's Shrek?"

Well that failed...

"A salad."

"You're a jerk." He muttered, as I referenced to the time I managed to convince him that Texas was a salad.

I smiled at that, "Yeah, but I'm your jerk."

"Don't let honey boo hear you say that, he'd go into cardiac arrest."

I looked up at him from his shoulder, "You know your obsession with my fiancé is rather worrying, should I be looking into it?"

"Pfft, you couldn't-- wait, did you say fiancé?"

"Damn... well, yeah..." I replied, realising that I slipped up slightly with the whole engagement thing. Did Chris want to keep it quiet...?

"Wait, you're engaged?!" Yvane suddenly cried, her spine straightening in her seat.

"Who's engaged?" Lucy suddenly asked, stepping into the room while wiping her hands with the same towel that Yvane had early.

"Danny and Chris!"

"WHAT?!"

I audibly gulped at the sudden turn of emotion in the room, "I--"

"Oh my... Holy... I'm going to have a sister-in-law!" Lucy cried, practically jumping over the sofa and landing on top of me with an 'oomph' and what sounded like a sob of happiness.

"L-Lucy..." I choked out, tapping her back in an attempt to get her off me.

"I'm going to have another sister! And she's so badass! Can I be maid of honour?! Can I bake your wedding cake?!" She gasped, seeming so exited she was going to explode. Heck, she seemed more excited than me.

"Umm--"

Suddenly, a loud beeping began in the kitchen which caused the Australian on top of me to cusre loudly under her breath, "Shit. Okay don't move! You're telling me everything later, okay? Everything."

Before I could reply, she sprinted out of the room and out of sight which left me with a mouth agape and a pounding heart. That was... terrifying.

"So... I think it's pretty obvious that you owe me all the details..." Finn piped up, sighing loudly and placing his hands beneath his head with a satisfied groan.

My mouth gaped open, "Since when?!"

"Since that time I saved your arse in that manmade forest. Any other man would've done something very different to you instead of actually helping..."

"You're a pig," I muttered, punching him the shoulder, "And to be honest I don't think you could handle it."

"Why not?"

I smiled mischievously, "You'd get jealous."

"Yeah, you're right," He replied, shifting slightly in his seat, "That Christopher's a catch."

"I don't know, bit of chloroform some ties; you could still get in there."

"Pfft, I ain't no sloppy seconds." He mumbled, leaning his head against mine so that we were both supporting each other. Over the past few months, much to Chris' dismay, Finn and I had become extremely close to the point where I now considered him one of my best-friends. Our friendship mostly consisted of insulting each other and me teaching him the salads of the world (The majority of course not actually being salads but just random words I was too lazy to explain). But at the end of the day, we both knew that all of the arguing and all the insults were nothing but jokes, and that none of us actually meant it.

Arching behind Finn slightly as he got distracted by the television, I faced Yvane and began miming 'I'll tell you later' with my mouth, gesturing for her not to worry and receiving a nod and a thumbs up back.

But girl code beats all.

Making my way through the house with the plate of food and a glass of milk, I came to a stop in front of Amelia's slightly open door and gently knocked. A few seconds later, a soft 'come in' came from within which I agreed and entered slowly.

"Hey." I smiled, making my way into the guest bedroom and towards the sitting angel on the window sill. After a long discussion with Chris, I managed to convince him to release the angel which was incarcerated with Finn a few months ago downstairs. Apparently, she hadn't actually done anything wrong, but was imprisoned for what she might do. Fallen angels were rare, and no one really knew what were the full extent of their powers; other than knowing that they had the ability to manipulate time somehow.

Weird, I know.

"H-hello." She whispered in return, placing down a children's book she had with her and turning to face me timidly.

"I heard you hadn't eaten, would you like some dinner?"

Her belly rumbled at that.

"Yes, p-please." She replied, once again in a very quiet and soft voice. She couldn't be more than in her early twenties, but when I first approached her for release she hardly even spoke. I felt that it wasn't by choice either.

After a few weeks of work, I finally got her to feel slightly comfortable around me; and after some conversations I learned that she couldn't actually read or write. So, with new resolve, I dedicated the good part of the past six months to teaching her the best I could, and she was coming along well if  was being honest. However, she hardly spoke to anyone else let alone approach them for anything. Especially the men. In fact, she seemed to cower even more towards Chris than the others; something I was trying hard to improve on with her.

"How's your book coming along?" I asked, going to sit opposite her on the cushioned window sill. She took a bite of her food and swallowed before nodding and gesturing towards the kids book she had faced down on the seat next to her.

"It's g-good. I'm almost done..."

"That's brilliant!" I beamed, bringing my legs up to cross together underneath me and face her.

She smiled back softly, nodding before concentrating on eating the food in front of her. After a few moments of silence, she glanced up at me before swallowing and taking a sip of her milk, "You l-look different today... Your eyes ch-changed."

"Huh, yeah; you can blame Christopher for that." I said in slight amusement.

"Did he h-hurt you?"

"W-what? Oh God no, no." I replied hastily, thinking about how her assuming that will get us nowhere with her trusting men, "... Quite the opposite really."

"In w-what way?" She asked, her light brown hair falling in her eyes slightly from its length.

"Well we... you know..." I said, shifting around slightly in the seat.

"No."

"We um, got together... intimately?"

"You had sex?"

My eyes widened at that, "How did you--"

"I'm o-old enough to know what s-sex is you know." She muttered, looking slightly amused at my bewildered expression. Here's a girl who didn't know how to spell orange but new the ins and outs of sex. Brilliant.

"Yes well... yeah that happened..." I mumbled in return, rubbing the back of my neck in awkwardness.

"I'm glad. He  is a good man." She replied, continuing to eat her food.

I stilled at her words, thinking about everything that she went through because of Chris' pack, "What makes you say that?"

She shrugged, "He t-took me in and f-fed me when no one else would. He's a g-good man."

"Sweetheart, not that I don't love the man but... I'd understand if you were angry with him. I mean, he did imprison you..."

She shook her head at that, "He saved me."

"...Huh?"

"My k-kind," She began, beginning to play subconsciously with the edge of one of her pure white wings, "We're not... liked, by a lot of p-people. We have to hide from them c-cause if we're found we're..."

She took a deep breath and seemed to gather courage before looking up determined, "We're killed. And when I was found, I was not ready to be k-killed."

"... Why?" I asked, eyes wide at the brutality of it all. Were angels that bad?

She shrugged, "I think... I think they're scared... But Ch-Ch-Christopher, he wasn't. When they found me, he asked my name... no one's ever asked my name before. I was scared... but he t-took care of me. He made sure I saw a Doctor. He made sure I'd eaten. He made sure I was warm... He was a lot like you..."

"That's why I said he was a good man. Because he's... a lot like you."

***

"I'll be back in a couple of days, tops. So please try not to burn the house down?" Chris chuckled, snaking an arm around my waist and pulling me in for a hug.

Returning it with a slight scoff of a laugh, I circled my arms around his shoulders and squeezed tightly, "No promises."

"... I'm sorry to leave so soon after..." He murmured in my ear after a few seconds of silence and merely hugging each other. Smiling softly, I gently shook my head and buried my face into the side of his neck, inhaling deeply and letting it out slowly afterwards.

Guess I'm going to have to sleep on his side of the bed tonight...

"Its fine," I whispered in return, pulling back before I did something I knew I'd regret like begging him to stay. Sighing loudly, I fell back on the heels of my feet while plastering on a smile, "Besides, it'll give me time to gossip about you with the girls."

"Well, I'm excited for the rumours." He chuckled, before leaning down and placing a gentle kiss on my lips, "I love you."

"Love you, too." I replied, as he leant our foreheads together. His gaze was a mixture of amusement, love and longing; a mix I hoped to see on his face many times more in the future. After a few moments of merely leaning against each other, he groaned loudly and squeezed his eyes shut before pulling my forehead down and kissing it hard and pulling away, "I've got to go."

"I know." I muttered, as he reluctantly stepped away and went to grab the black rucksack by his feet.

"Three days. It's only three days." He said as almost a promise, maybe more to himself than to me.

Feeling a slight pang hit my chest, I covered it with what I always do and replied with, "You're such a girl."

"You weren't saying that last night." He said, winking slightly while walking backwards towards the three SUV's waiting, "Oh, and don't forget to mention that to the girls!"

"You know, I swear at times your ego could out scale Texas!" I called, as he was merely a few feet away from the car.

He merely grinned mischievously in return, "I love you!"

"Get in the car!" I order, chuckling slightly as opened the driver's side of the already occupied vehicle. With a salute, he climbed in and started the engine before reversing and turning in the overly long drive.

Rolling his window down, he looked at me pointedly, "Three days."

"I'll give you two." I replied with a slight smile, feeling my mood dwindle as he gave a nod to the passenger side and pulled away from the house followed by two vehicles. Sighing as the cars were officially out of sight, my lips pursed as I wrapped my arms around myself in order to attempt to obtain warmth and to be honest; keep my emotions intact.

"Well that was rank!" Finn suddenly called from the front door, startling me slightly and causing me turn to him with a scowl.

"Shut up, dickwad. Get in the house. I want food." I replied, making my way back inside and towards the Irishman.

"What? Come on, I thought the Australian was the chef?"

I shrugged, "Yeah, well, Lucy's not here and I'm too weak to do it so; you have to do it."

"Fine, "He huffed loudly, turning and going inside, "Come on, I'll make you a Texas."

Ha ha ha...
