Chapter 27
CHRIS'S POV
There are moments in my life which I regret with all my being, moments where I would give anything for them to be undone and forgotten for they never happened. What happened to Danny was one of those moments, although ironically it led to one of the best ones of my life.
"Anything?"
Richard shook his head before turning back to look through the one-sided mirror, "Not a word. Luna?"
"Coping." I replied, staring blankly at the two-people I once trusted; who sat in the very same room that the Irish soothsayer sat in but a few weeks ago. We caught Matthew returning from the woods once we realised Danielle was missing. Her sister had called wanting to wish a happy new year, but once we went looking for her we realised she'd disappeared. Yvane had said she'd seen her go outside rather woozy, wanting fresh air; and by the time we'd search the forest opening it had began to rain. Any traces of her or anyone else were washed away, and it had taken hours, but we finally found her after 'interrogating' Matthew.
A horrible thing to do granted, but I don't regret it.
"Richard..." I began, titling my head toward him but continuing to look at the calm looking man and the crying woman. "Give us a moment, will you?"
"Yes, Alpha." He replied, turning for the door. I followed shortly after, reaching the interrogation room entrance were he and Jason, another soldier, stood.
Jason opened the door for me, and as I passed I placed a hand on his shoulder, "Whatever you hear, you don't come in until I get out; understand?"
"Yes, sir."
"Good man." I muttered, before entering the room with the door closing behind me; effectively leaving me alone with the two tied up wolves. I stopped for a few seconds and evaluated their condition with a blank expression, not giving anything off which was a look I'd mastered years ago. I felt a twisted sense of pleasure as I saw both of them visibly gulp.
Matthew got off the lightest injury wise, which I wasn't sure I should be proud or annoyed by. He'd acquired a black eyes and a busted nose during our 'Interrogation', as well as a few bruised ribs that would heal in a matter of hours due to the excess energy that all shifters harboured. That injury count would increase soon though.
Tinsley on the other hand, had maintained a more permanent injury. Although not dead, the knife in which Danny had thankfully used missed her brain by mere centimetres; but of course had caused her to lose and eye. Even shifters couldn't recover from something like that, so Tinsley was effectively half blind for the rest of her life. Her face was covered in tear tracks and her eye bandaged over with gauze which had been soiled by blood once again. She wore the uniform which was provided for prisoners of the pack; just your basic prison gear.
Not saying a word, I walked further into the room with my eyes trailed on the duo; giving nothing away as I leaned against the table with my hands far apart. Taking a few seconds in order to take in every detail of their faces, I must have gotten into their head somehow since more tears fell down Tinsley's bruised and bloodied cheeks. I severed their mind-link once I figured out what was happening, and so at that moment they were more alone than they'd ever been in their lives.
**VIOLENCE!**
——————————————
"... Christopher listen I—"
My face contorted in anger as I roughly shoved the metal table to the side so it slammed heavily into the wall, effectively cutting across Matthew's dialogue. They both jumped slightly at the sudden noise, Tinsley taking in a shaky breath from crying so much earlier since that table had been bolted to the ground.
"Quiet now, please." I seethed, sounding rather sarcastic but at the same time pissed as hell. Instead of going for him I went over to Tinsley and grabbed her arm, kicking her chair to the side once she stood and dragging her away as she sobbed, "You come with me."
She began to thrash around as I heaved her over to the back of the room where pipes stuck out of the wall, something I had meant to fix but at that moment was glad that I hadn't. She continued to sob as I tightened my hold on her, getting out my silver knife and extra cable ties while quickly cutting through the plastic in order to get her arms around one of the low down pipe. But before I could attach the new tie she yanked, the (now thinking about it) rather lose, pipe from the wall and allowed it to clatter to the ground; before she managed to scramble free and snatch out of my hold not getting far as I threw my arm out which caused her to run straight into it head on.
She exclaimed in pain and surprise as she crashed to the ground, allowing me enough time to snag her underarms and drag her back to another sturdier pole, throwing her arm through and tying her hands together with another cable tie. Usually this would serve as nothing against a shifter, but considering I had them both injected with a dose of silver earlier on they were practically near human.
"What the f*ck, you son of a b*itch?!" Matthew yelled from the front of the room, not being able to see what was happening behind him.
"Don't think just because you're a girl I won't f*ck you up like you did to Danielle." I spat in her ear, ignoring Matthew before roughly shoving her on the ground with black eyes. I took a deep breath and rolled my neck before going back to the front. "You wait there."
Grabbing Tinsley's fallen chair I dragged it in front of Matthew with a slight grimace as my leg began playing up and sat down, my knife ready in hand as his breath came out heavy and irregular. "Now... Matthew...who sent you?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." He denied, leaning as far back in the chair as he could while shaking his head slightly.
Growing impatient I turned my head to the side slightly in annoyance before tightening my hold on the knife and plunging it in his thigh, just above his knee. He howled in pain as he hunched over in his seat, Tinsley beginning to sob and scream at the back of the room. "F*ck!"
Ignoring her and him I slapped his face slightly so he would lift his eyes for me to see, "Focus right here. Right here... Or I'll pop your goddamn knee off. Now, I'll ask again, who?"
He continued to whine and groan from the aftermath of the pain, and started to shake his head more with a raspier voice replying, "I don't know, I don't know! They never told me who they were!"
My eyes narrowed, as I began to twist the knife further into his leg, "Who?"
"ARGH!"
"STOP IT!" Tinsley continued to scream, as she yanked against her bindings but it did no good.
"WHO?"
"Argh...ROGUES! From up north, they hired us." He sobbed, trying his best to deal with the pain.
"Where up north?"
"I-I don't know, they move a lot and never stay in the same place twice. Now please, stop!" He gritted between teeth, breathing heavily and rapidly. Taking a second to grip onto the knife better I quickly yanked it out and grabbed his face, placing the handle in his mouth so that the sharp end stuck straight forward. I then roughly let go and went to grab the map of North America I had in my back pocket, since I knew it would come needed on this occasion.
"Now you're going to mark their last known location on the map, and it better be the exact same spot that your buddy over there points too." I said, bringing the piece of paper closer to the knife so he could reach it. "Mark it."
He shakily marked the map before spitting the bloody knife out afterwards, breathing in as he did, "There, its right there. You can verify it, go ask her. Go on."
I stood, glancing at the piece of paper before folding it back up and placing it in my back pocket. I looked over at Tinsley's sobbing, scared form and back at Matthew's. He stared at me with fear in his eyes as well as hope, as if he would get out of this situation with no more violence towards him.
Yeah, right.
Before he could blink I swung my fist forward and landed an upper-cut to his jaw, causing the chair to swing back and land on the floor with a loud clatter along with an unconscious or even dead Matthew. Either way would've worked for me.
"You son of a b*itch! He told you what you wanted!" Tinsley screamed, trying to yank her way out of the pole as she did last time. But the thing didn't budge as I went over to the first, discarded pipe and picked up the metal object, making my way back to her, "I'm not telling you shit!"
I cocked my head to the side for a second causally.
"That's alright," I replied, shrugging slightly at her comment, "I believe him."
I then commenced to brace to swing, "No stop, wait!"

**END OF VIOLENCE!!**
DANNY'S POV
"Guys I'm tired, can't I go back to bed?" I whined for the second time, as I limped slowly down the stairs with Frankie helping me along. I was currently wearing a clean pair of pyjamas with freshly washed hair which I had never been more grateful for. God, clean was nice.
But I was tired.
Tired as hell.
"You're the one who kept complaining about wanting to come downstairs." Frankie replied, as we reached the bottom steps with the front door directly in front of us a few meters away.
I nodded, "Yeah, but that was before I realised how bloody far away downstairs is. Why didn't anyone tell me?"
"Oh, shut up." Yvane called, as she walked by us from the kitchen and into the living-room. I gaped in mock shock as I was helped into the sitting room where the TV was on and fireplace burning.
"I thought you were the doctor here."
"Exactly, and as your doctor I'm telling you to shut up, and enjoy the fact that I'm letting you out of bed rest." She replied from sitting on the sofa with Grace on the floor in front of her playing with blocks.
I swear there's a second family living in this house.
Not that there's a first one either...
"Fine, then if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pay a visit to a dear friend of mine so... as you were!" I stated, before turning for the basement where I knew Tinsley was and hobbled back towards the living room archway. Suddenly three bodies were in front of me, blocking the way, "... or not."
"You are not going near that spawn of Satan, do you understand?" Frankie stated, as she, Yvane and Hannah (Richard's wife) stood with arms apart to stop any form of passing.
Well poop.
I narrowed my eyes in annoyance and crossed my bandaged arms, "... I hope you understand that if I wasn't injured I could kick your arses to Holland and back right now, alright?"
Hannah smirked, "And I hope you understand that we have something on you from now on, alright?"
"...What?"
They all turned to look at each other with evil grins before turning back to me and throwing their arms up in the air, "You kissed Chris!"
The all sang at once, grabbing me and taking me back to sit on the sofa, effectively changing the subject off Tinsley. "Who the hell told you?!"
Yvane waved me off, "Pfft, Chris told Cody, Cody told me, and I told them."
"... You're worse than little old ladies, you know that?" I pointed out, digging myself further into the cushions and attempting to get out of this situation. God damn werewolves...
"So how was it?" Frankie asked smiling broadly at god knows what.
"Why trying to get in there?" I winked, trying my best to change the subject.
"No, but you are! Come on! Give me the details! Was it passionate?"
"Were there fireworks?!"
"Do you feel pregnant?" Hannah asked, causing my head to snap to hers.
"What?"
She shrugged, a smile never leaving her lips, "Never mind, come on! Tell us!"
"It was... nice." I answered, truing to shrug it off and play it cool.
"NICE?!" They all cried at once, blabbering on and asking question after question. Jesus Christ were all women this bad?
"Nice? That's it?"
"There has to be more to it!"
"It can't be just... nice!"
I groaned loudly in annoyance, "Okay so it was a little better than nice, but I'm not telling you! Have you any idea how weird this is for me, let alone me reciting it! I can't just kiss and tell I— Oh my god, I'm a man."
They all laughed before nodding at my words, suddenly becoming mockingly sympathetic as one began tapping my shoulder in sympathy while the other laid their head on my shoulder, "It's okay dear, we accept you for who you are."
"And if you want to grow a beard, we'll support you ever step of the way."
"Yeah, you better." I muttered, angrily snatching the throw over blanket on the sofa and draping it over myself. I took a deep breath as I slowly felt my eyes once again begin to droop. I'm not meant to be this tired!
"Oh, nap time for Danny. Can someone stay and watch Grace and her while I go pick up Lucy from her date?" Yvane stated, using my thigh to heave herself up and collect her keys from the coffee table before going to the hooks by the front door to get her coat.
I suddenly felt very awake.
"What? Lucy has a date?" I called, arching my head to see her step into view through the archway while shrugging her coat on.
"Yep, with that guy we met at the bar a few weeks ago, you remember?" She replied; as I vaguely remembered a rather nerdy looking guy taking interest in Lucy while I was busy doing vodka shots and trying to forget my sudden job loss.
"Oh yeah..." I trailed off; smiling slightly before stifling a yawn, "Tell me how it went, will you?"
"Ask her yourself." She smirked back, before leaving with a wave and a goodbye.
Next time I opened my eyes it was to the sight of Cody bouncing his daughter on his hip a few feet away, talking to Frankie about light topics that I couldn't even try to remember. I slowly began to sit up with a yawn, wincing slightly as my arms ached from lack of pain killers.
"Good evening, Casanova."
"How long was I out?" I mumbled, shifting up so I could rest my back easily.
Frankie shrugged, "About three hours."
"I'm going to need to invest in an alarm clock." I muttered, rubbing my eyes and sighing.
"I bet you do." Cody commented suggestively in an amused tone.
I scowled, knowing he was referring to my situation with Chris, "You know that doesn't make any sense."
"Yeah, it does." He said in the same tone with a smirk on his face, as he placed Grace back on the floor with her toys. "How are you and Chris doing?"
"Oh, shut up." I said, not able to stop a small smile gracing my lips in amusement as I threw a nearby cushion at him. He ducked at the last moment and ran out of the room before I could do anything else.
"I'm gonna go too, mom's gonna kill me if I miss dinner again. I'll see you later Danny." She waved, "Get well soon."
"Say hi to your mum for me." I called, as she left with an okay and the front door opening and closing. Frankie's mum had the generosity of coming to the house a few weeks back, completely out of nowhere, to give me homemade cookies.
I mean I didn't even know the woman, how nice is that?
Anyway she and I talked, and she was a really nice woman of Asian descent. Frankie no longer lived with her but came for dinner twice a week along with her 5 brothers. To say they had a large family would be an understatement, especially since two of the five brothers were married and had kids, and so they all came as well.
Big family.
I sighed loudly and slumped back on the sofa, turning my head to look at Grace," You're lucky you don't know what cooties are yet Grace."
She merely gurgled in return.
"Exactly." I replied, while Max the dog came out of nowhere and somehow managed to squeeze in with me on the sofa, so his head ended up on my belly. I didn't mind though, and merely continued to stroke his head as he, Grace and I watched telly.
It was a good half-an-hour before Cody returned, along with a freshly showered Christopher who I smiled at when in sight, "Hey."
"Hey, English." He replied, coming over and kissing my forehead before crouching down next to me on the sofa, "How you doing?"
"Good, a little drowsy but I'm going to try and make it until it's at least dark out." I replied, getting comfier with the throw over blanket I had.
"Sounds like a plan." He smiled, before replacing Max next to me and placing my feet on his lap.
After a few seconds of debating, I finally decided to ask the question that had been playing on my mind for quite some time now, "Hey Chris?"
"Yeah?"
"What's happening with Tinsley?" I asked, feeling him tense slightly at the question. I slowly turned my head to look at him as he sighed slightly under his breath.
"Once she's been questioned we're kicking her and Matthew out of the territory and sending them to her farther in Wyoming. They'll be trialled for the attempted murder of a human. Then... well, then it's out of my hands."
"Do you have death-penalties?" I asked.
"...Yes, but they won't be issued for this crime. We have a lot of things you'd consider immoral, Danny." He replied, before turning to the telly and seeming to end the conversation there. I blinked for a few seconds before I too followed his lead and turned my attention back to the telly. A few minutes later he and Cody began a discussion about sport or something boring like that, and so I tuned out rather quickly.
We have a lot of things you'd consider immoral, Danny
What does that mean?
However much to my annoyance, I started to once again feel tired as I began to fall into a dreamless sleep, filled with unanswered questions and enquires about what on Earth Chris meant. I guess I wouldn't last until it was dark out then...
Well, at least Tinsley and soldier boy were given a fair trial.
Even if they're guilty.
For obvious reasons.
I awoke groggy but aware about an hour later, as I realised the telly had been switched off but the fireplace was still burning. I didn't move as I heard Chris and Cody talking, but this time in a much more serious tone.
"So what are you going to tell Danny?"
"Nothing, at the moment." Chris replied, peaking my interest since I seemed to be the centre topic within this conversation.
"...She's going to get curious, you know that."
Get curious about what?
"And until that time, it shall not be brought up. She's dealing with enough crap as it is; the last thing she needs to deal with is this."
There was a slight pause in the conversation, as I tried my best to keep my eyes such and not drift off once more. This was interesting..."... So what really happened with Tinsley?"
What?
"...What do you think?" Was Chris's rather snappy reply. "He took over, and I'm annoyed to say that I let him do it. Willingly."
"He hasn't been out in a while Chris, he's going to want to meet her." Cody said, causing my confusion to grow.
Who's going to meet who? Me? Me meet who?
"I know. I'll figure something out, I always do." Chris muttered, as I Cody sighed rather loudly.
"Let's hope so." Was his reply, as I felt the grogginess become too much and begin to drag me back under again.
What on Earth was that about?
AND WE ARE DONE WOOOO!
OH WAIT, RIGHT, I FORGOT, THERE WAS THIS BIT TOO.
**WARNING VIOLENT**
CHRIS'S POV (Continued)
"NO STOP, WAIT!"
The pipe slammed into the wall next to her head, the resulting noise causing our ears to ring but more for her since it slammed mere inches from her left ear. Tinsley sobbed after she realised she was still alive, pressing as far into the wall as she could go. "You f*cking monster!"
Ignoring her, I straightened out my posture and went for the door, knocking twice and mind linking with Richard to let me out. The door opened to find a sobbing Tinsley on the floor tied to a pipe in the corner, an unconscious bloody of a traitor tied to a tipped over chair, and a bloody knuckled alpha who's eyes were pitch black.
"Get Steven, we have some tracking to do." I muttered, before leaving the chaos of a room behind me to go take a shower and to find the people who hurt my mate.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Okay now we done! What you think! :O
Summary : Matthew and Tinsley were 'interogated', well really they were sort of 'tortured' to get info for who hurt Danny. He found out that it was a group of rogues from the north who had sent them and neither the soldier (Matthew) nor Tinsley are dead, but pretty badly hurt and shaken. So yep... now deres a tracking team being sent to the rogues' last known location... so yup, pretty bad... K imma gonna stop talking now...
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THOUGHT CHRIS'S IS EVIL, may I stop you there. I am fed up, of all these werewolf books having 'BIG BAD ASS ALPHAS WHO ARE RUTHLESS AND FEARED' but in the entire book all they do is kill the leader rogue in a massive wolf battle and maybe throw a few punches here and there. This pack was known for being rather 'unaurthadox' as mentioned in the begining, and I wanted to show the difference with how Chris is among those he cares about and those who go agaisnt him and his ATTITUDE due to pack threats. Dat's how I felt about it, dat how I role!!
No comment goaley this time since I'm too stressed with exams to care. Next chapter might be a little bit away guys but the goaley was no reachey dah last time so really I update early this time, so YAY!
EITHER WAY WOULD LOVE YOUR FEEDBACK AND PLEASE! Show dah love for Chris!
(How many of you thought he'd killed her, eh? Oh, noone... awks...)
Peace and Love!
Your smexy poatato Iggy Xx
