-Christmas morning-

"C'MON PUMPKIN!! IT'S NOT THAT BAD JUST FIT YOUR HEAD THROUGH THE HOLE!!" I growled, struggling to pull the Christmas sweater over the puppy's head. Pumpkin wriggled and thrashed, shaking her head as I attempted to slip it through the top hole of the article of clothing. "I promised Lapis you were gonna wear this. NOW YOU'RE GONNA WEAR THIS!!" I whisper-shouted, and Pumpkin squealed in response.

I huffed, and stopped moving for a small break. Pumpkin had the sweater half on, but her head wasn't peeking out yet. I stared down at her, and her tail wagged eagerly. I then leaned over and tried again, yanking the hole over the puppy's head - of course gentle enough not to hurt her. I hope. Her head eventually popped out, and her left ear was sticking up. I flopped her ear back down, and backed up a bit to take a look at my work. She looked absolutely adorable. An aggravating, tiring, energy-draining, adorable little puppy.

As if on cue, Lapis exited the bathroom, and I turned around to grin at her. "What do you think?" I asked, standing up from the bed. "Awww!!" the bluenette squealed, approaching the puppy quickly. She picked her up, and peppered the dog's head with little kisses. "I can't believe you actually got it on. Was it hard?" she asked, turning her head to me. "N-no, no not all. Not too difficult." I quickly replied, flickering my eyes back and forth.

"A-anyways, I know since you're so enthusiastic about this whole holiday ordeal, I had to get you a present..." I stated, looking over at our screwed up tree. Lapis hugged Pumpkin, very slightly swaying back and forth as Pumpkin seemed more calm. "S-so, I got this for you..." I muttered, bending down and reaching under the tree. I grabbed a small box that I wrapped (cough with some struggling cough), and brought it to Lazuli. "Aww, you didn't have to do that, Peri." she said, tilting her head as she eyed the small box in my hand.

She set our puppy back onto the bed, and took the box. She quickly opened it, and quietly gasped as she stared at the now revealed gift. "Wh-whoa... Peridot, this is beautiful." she said, pulling a Lapis Lazuli necklace out of said box. "Lapis Lazuli..." she murmured, holding it up and studying it more closely. "I know. Original." I sarcastically replied, feeling my cheeks burn. "N-no no it is! Thanks, Peridot." Lapis protested, looking back up at me with a beaming expression on her face. "U-uhm, yeah of course." I squeaked, folding my hands behind my back shyly.

Lapis then set the box down on the bed beside Pumpkin, and held up the necklace again. "H-here. I'll put it on you." I insisted, walking up behind Lapis. Lapis then nodded, handing me the fragile necklace. Her hair was short enough in the back for me to bring the two ends together with ease. I twitched my eye a little as I was struggling a bit to clip it on correctly. I involuntarily grumbled quietly as it felt like my fingers were too damn big to accomplish this easy task.

I heard Lapis giggle, and I huffed in response. I chuckled victoriously as I finally clipped it correctly, and I took a step back. Lapis then turned around facing me, and looked down at her necklace. She really did look brilliant in the jewelry, and a smile crept onto my face. "Beautiful." I stated. Lapis' shoulders tensed up, and I spotted a blush spreading across her cheeks as she looked at me with shy eyes. "Now my gift doesn't seem nearly as good." she muttered, looking over at her bed.

"Oh, don't even worry about it, Laz. You didn't even need to get me anything." I replied flatly, placing my hands on my hips. "No I had to! W- well... here, then." she reached under her bed, and slid out a slightly larger box than the one I gifted her. She hesitantly handed it to me, and I eagerly took it, immediately untying the ribbon tied around it. The ribbon fell to the floor, and I lifted the lid off to reveal the present. My eyebrows shot up as it appeared to be some sort of Santa hat - it was green.

I pulled it out, and as soon as I turned it over, I beamed inside. There was a large alien on the front of the hat, and I nearly squealed. "AWESOME!!" I beamed, immediately reaching up and slipping on the nerdy ass hat. "Wow thanks!" I exclaimed, and Lapis only giggled. "Such a dork." she remarked, crossing her arms and staring up at my hat. I closed my eyes, and straightened my posture with great pride. I look sexy as fuck in this hat.

"Whoa, there! Be careful guys!" Greg exclaimed, standing on the other side of the ice skating rink wall. Steven and his friend Connie were ice skating, along with Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet. Lapis and I were putting our ice skates on, and Lapis looked extremely hesitant. "Do we really have to do this? What if Pearl breathes on me?" she grumbled, tying her laces tightly. "It will be okay, Lapis. Just stay positive. Stay on the other side of the rink, if you have to. Besides, I need a partner to teach me how to properly skate." I explained, looking over at her.

Lapis only grunted in response, and I carefully stood up, ready to hit the ice. My ankles trembled as I ever so slowly walked toward the ice. Lapis slowly opened the gate thing for me, and I entered the frozen-over hell. This looked a lot funner on television. "L-LaPiS! P-pLeAse dOn'T LET ME FALL!!" I whimpered, immediately clinging to the wall. Lapis snorted, closing the gate back up. She took my hand gently, and began to skate away from the wall. "You're gonna fall, Peridot. It's all part of the learning process." she stated, and I nearly screamed as the wall grew farther and farther away.

My grip tightened on the bluenette's hand, and my legs wobbled. Lapis slowly glided across the ice as I struggled to stay standing. I then leaned my whole body weight against Lapis, and she turned her head to look down at me. "A little nervous, I see?" she grinned, and I furrowed my eyebrows. "Look. Just try this." Lapis said, looking down at her own feet. She used the front of her skate to push very slightly, and her other foot glided forward. She did the same vise versa, and I watched attentively.

I whimpered again as I attempted to try this. My foot tilted forward too far, and I screeched as I began to fall forward. However, Lapis caught me quickly, and I panted heavily. I groaned loudly, and regained my balance after almost a whole minute. "HEY PERIDOT!! OVER HERE!!" Amethyst shouted from across the ice, and I carefully turned around to squint at Amethyst.

"Skate to me, dude! It's easy!" she yelled, raising her arms up. I grunted, and gritted my teeth as I looked down at my feet. I very cautiously attempted to copy what Lapis had done, just not as gracefully as she somehow did it. I looked up, and watched as Pearl and Garnet skated so slickly across the ice, zipping back and forth and skating circles around others. I very hesitantly pushed, trying to keep my balance as stable as possible. I sensed Lapis skating alongside me, though at a bit of a faster pace.

Amethyst grew closer into my view, and I smirked to myself. I'm getting closer. Heheheheheh. Before I knew it, I had clumsily slid all the way over to Amethyst, and I threw my arms up in the air excitedly. "I DID IT!!!" I hollered. "WOOO!! GO PERI!!" Amethyst shouted, clapping. "Hahaha, c'mon, Lapis!" Steven exclaimed, skating past us. Connie followed behind him quickly. Lapis then giggled, and looked over at me. "I'll be back." she said before skating off after the teenage boy.

I watched Laz zoom away, and I soon turned back to Amethyst. "Dude, let's try something." Ame then stated, balling her fists eagerly. "Huh? Like what?!" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Like a super dope trick! Like the Disney on Ice people!" she explained, and I looked at her in utter shock. "What?! No way! I don't even know how to normally skate! Much less do tricks!" I protested. "C'monnn, it'll be fun! One hundred percent safe!" she claimed, placing her hands on her hips.

I crossed my arms and turned away while trying to maintain balance. "Nope. No way." I deadpanned. I then screamed at the top of my lungs as I felt her head ram into my lower back for a split second. Her hands grabbed onto my hips and she hoisted me up, and I was now flailing around like a crazed bird. "PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT!!!" I growled loudly, but Amethyst only laughed in response. "WOOHOOOO!!!" she screamed, starting to skate forward as I was still being held up in the air. I looked in front of me nervously, and gasped loudly as I spotted Lapis, Steven, and Connie in front of us.

"A-AMETHYST!!" I cried, pointing my finger at the trio. "HEY GUYS!! LOOK AT US!! WE'RE YURI ON ICE!!" Amethyst hollered, and the whole group looked over at us in awe. Steven had an anxious expression on his face, Connie had a shocked expression on hers, and Lapis just looked plain terrified. "wHoAaAAA!!" Amethyst began to lose her balance, with me remaining in her arms.

"AGH FUCK!! GUYS OUT OF THE WAY!!" I screeched, thrashing my arms and legs violently. Steven and Connie zoomed to the left, while Lapis zoomed to the right. However, as Lapis sped to the right, she accidentally collided with Pearl. "aaaaAAAaaAAAAaaAAHHHH!!!" Amethyst started screaming, and I looked forward once again, panic-stricken.
