The Truth Comes Out.

  Your POV

I woke up on Aphmau's couch next to a sleeping Garroth. He, surprisingly, wasn't holding onto me. I smiled, glad that he was peaceful and glad that we solved his snoring problem.

But then I heard something. I looked on my other side to see it was still dark out and no one else was awake.

  Except for her.

Madison was carefully stepping over everyone, making sure not to wake any of them up. She was heading for the front door.

  What is she doing? Leaving?

There's no way she could be leaving. Her bag still rested next to her sleeping bag. My suspicion grew as I saw her phone held in her hand. She reached the door and opened it just enough to let herself out, leaving it opened just a sliver.

My suspicion and curiosity got the best of me as I stood up and stepped around everyone, reaching the door and peeking out. Madison was pacing back and forth on the porch, harshly whispering to someone on the phone. I tried to listen the best I could.

"Don't tell me how to do my job, you stupid mutt...!" she whispered. "I have this all under control. If that idiotic girl gets in my way again, she'll pay the price."

  I flinched.

A smirk grew on Madison's face. "I know. That guy is such an idiot for thinking that I would actually want to be friends with him, let alone a lover," she whispered.

  I knew it!

Madison groaned quietly. "Yes, I know the plan. Get closer to him, get him to love me, then take his money from his parents' corporation. You don't need to remind me."

I gasped quietly and her head whipped around, glaring at me with her piercing green eyes.

YOU IDIOT! Why didn't you keep your mouth shut?!

She grabbed my shirt collar and pulled me outside, holding me up off of my feet. I struggled and squirmed, trying to set myself free. I opened my mouth to yell out for help, but she covered it with her free hand. She moved close to my ear.

"If you even COMMUNICATE to him in any way again," she whispered, "I will RUIN you."

I don't care! I won't let Garroth's life be ruined in exchange for mine!

"Think of your choices wisely... I know your secret."

  I froze.

She let go and I dropped to the ground on my knees.

I knew she was smirking without even looking at her.

Next thing I knew, the door closed and I heard the lock turn.

  Is it really...

  Who...

  How does she know...?

If she means what I think she means, this information could not only ruin my life, but my family's and werewolves everywhere.

  What do I do...?

I couldn't tell my siblings or my parents. We would go into hiding. My thoughts raced as I just stayed there.

It felt like an eternity until I realized that I was locked out.

I guess I'm going back to my house... Not like I'll be sleeping anytime soon anyway...

I managed to pick myself off of the ground, still shaking from shock, and trudge back to my house.

  ~The Next Morning~

I didn't sleep at all. I couldn't. That girl really could ruin my life.

I got a notification. My hand grabbed my phone and I looked.

  It's a text from Travis.

  Snow White: Where are you?

Me: At the house. I'm fine, don't worry.

Snow White: Okay... Dante and I should be there in a little while.

It was ten in the morning and my thoughts wouldn't stop racing.

Is there a way to fix this? How can I do this without hurting Garroth or getting the Ultima secret out?

  After a while, I had a plan.

  ~A Couple Hours Later~

I sat in my bed and typed away at my laptop as Dante and Travis sat on both sides of me.

"(Y/N), are you sure you're okay...? You look exhausted..." Dante asked, concerned.

"For the last time, I'm fine." I snapped. Dante flinched and I sighed. "Sorry..." It was silent for a while and I kept hitting a brick wall with my plan, my frustration growing. "Dante, I need your help."

  "Yeah?"

"Text Laurance and get him to find out Madison's last name."

"Okay." Dante agreed as he got out his phone and did what I told him.

"(Y/N), what are you doing...?" Travis hesitantly asked.

"I'll tell you in a little bit." I responded.

"Umbridge. Her last name is Umbridge." Dante told me.

  ...Ew.

I looked up her name. Not much came up at first, so I kept scrolling. After a little while, I came across a Twooter account.

I swear, if there's someone else with her name...

I clicked on the link and there she was. Twenty-nine posts, seventeen followers.

Thank Irene! If she ever said that the Lycan corporation was run by Ultimas, no one would believe her. None of her followers are any famous or popular people and I can't find anything else about her.

...Unless this is a fake account..?

No! It's obviously her. She might be lying about this secret anyway! Or she knows some other dumb secret that I don't care about!

  I sighed.

I'm going to have to take my chances on this one.

I closed my laptop and checked my phone. There was one text message from Garroth.

GarGar: Hey, are you okay..? Why did you leave last night...?

Me: I'm fine. Are you alone right now?

  GarGar: Yes, why..?

Me: I need to talk to you. It's urgent.

  GarGar: Well, come over..

I put my phone in my pocket and got out of bed, running out of my room and downstairs, leaving Travis and Dante on my bed, confused. My legs worked quickly, bringing me to Garroth's house in no time. I hastily knocked on the door. My wonderful, oblivious, blonde-haired friend answered.

"Uhm, come in.." he said as he moved out of the way, a worried expression plastered on his face. I took up his offer as I walked into his house. He shut the door and turned to me. "What's wrong..?"

"No one's here?" I had to make sure. "Not Laurance or Zane? Not Madison?"

  "No..." he responded.

I nodded. "Garroth, I'm going to tell you something, and it may be hard for you to take in."

"W-What..? What is it...?" he stuttered nervously.

I took a breath. "It's Madison. She isn't the great new friend that you think she is. She has been trying to push me away from you so she can manipulate you into eventually giving her money." He looked shocked, speechless. I got worried. "I'm sorry I had to tell you this.. I know it's a lot to take in..."

He clenched his fists. "(Y/N)... I know you're upset that we don't spend as much time together because I have other friends, but that doesn't give you the right to make lies!"

My eyes widened in disbelief. "W-What....?"

"Madison would never do that to me! She isn't that type of person!" he scoffed. "And I didn't think you were this type of person."

N-No... It's too late.. She already...

The front door opened to reveal the one and only, Madison herself. She walked over to Garroth. "What's happening, Garroth..?"

Garroth sighed. "You were right.. I didn't want to believe it..."

"Oh Gar Gar," she said in her dolly voice, "you should have listened before she hurt you more.. I told you she just wanted you all for herself..."

"What?!" I exclaimed sharply. Madison jumped and whimpered, as if she was scared.

"(Y/N), I think you should go." Garroth said lowly.

  "B-But I-"

  "Now." he stated coldly.

I stood there in absolute disbelief before I bolted out of the door and down the street.

I should've listened to Dad. I never should've gotten close to anyone.

...

I'll never make that mistake again.
