It's Time.
(IMPORTANT A/N, PLEASE READ
Hey, it's been a while. And I apologize for that. To get to the point, this will be the last chapter of this book. I am losing interest in x readers and falling out of this fandom, but I don't want to leave you guys on a cliffhanger. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate x readers and Aphmau will always have a place in my heart. I guess her recent uploads just don't appeal to me compared to her old ones and I've been interested in new things that cause me to stray away, in a sense.. Anyway, let's get to the chapter you've all been waiting and asking for. Also, get ready for some major feels. Make sure to take your time, lightning readers, you'll want to really take this in.
P.S.
I also apologize if there are any inconsistencies, it has been a while since I have updated. ;-;)
(Your POV)
I've been nervous to confront Garroth, but I would never admit it. Travis stayed to keep me company for a little while before having to go back home so nothing seemed suspicious.
Quit stalling, (Y/N)... It's time.
I slowly picked up my phone and clicked on Garroth's contact, then-
...my phone started ringing.
Mama Aphmau
Sylvanna..? Why is she calling..?
...
I answered. "Hello...?" I quietly and hesitantly said.
"Oh, thank Irene you answered!" Sylvana exclaimed. "Can you tell me why Aaron blocked my Mija on his phone?!"
"Blocked...?" I spoke to myself, confused.
"Are you with him? Can you tell him to man up and speak to my daughter?!"
"M-Miss," I stuttered, "I understand that they're in a fight, but I can't imagine Aaron blocking Aphmau on his-"
And then it hit me.
Mom.
"Sweetie? Hello?" Sylvana snapped me out of my realization.
"Where are you right now?" I asked.
"Zianna and I are on the way to the Lycan household, why?"
"I'm coming too."
~Later~
I told Sylvana not to wait for me. When I got there, Aaron was already walking out of the house.
Dang, I missed Mom getting owned.
He looked deep in thought. I rushed over to him and hugged him without a word. That seemed to hit him hard because he hugged back tightly, crying a little. "I-I'm sorry, (Y/N).. I should have listened to you... I should have left sooner..."
"Shh... It's okay, Aaron... It's not your fault..." I said gently.
He took a minute to calm down, but I made sure he did before letting go. Then I saw Zianna rushing over to me. "(Y/N)! I was hoping to see you here too..!" she exclaimed, looking a bit desperate.
"Huh...?" I said, a bit startled.
"My GarGar is having such a hard time knowing that he hurt you..! He didn't mean it, I swear..! I just can't bear seeing him so hurt...! So please, at least try talking to him...? That is all I can ask for..."
I was a little shocked. "Y-Yeah, of course.. I was about to before I came here.." I explained.
Before she could respond, I heard another voice, coming from the house. "(Y/N)?"
I looked in that direction and saw none other than my Mom, standing in the doorframe. I froze as she began walking over. "Just go away!" Aaron demanded, but she ignored him and hugged me. I still stood, frozen.
"Sweetie, I haven't seen you for so long.. Oh, how I've missed you.." she said. But I could tell no compassion was in her voice as she spoke. I couldn't let her manipulate me again, yet I couldn't move. She didn't let go. "Why don't you come inside and we can catch up? Your dad should be here soon, we can all have dinner."
"(Y/N), don't listen to her! She stole my phone and blocked Aph!" Aaron yelled. That snapped me out of it and I pushed her off.
I growled. "You're a sorry excuse for a mother, taking advantage of your children at the most vulnerable points of their life." She looked absolutely shocked. So did Sylvanna, Zianna, and Aaron. "Let's go." I said to my brother, taking his hand and practically dragging him along with me before he got the opportunity to even respond.
(...Garroth's POV)
I knocked on Aphmau's front door. I had barely gotten out of the house since (Y/N) disappeared, but I felt like maybe Aph and I could comfort each other..
The door opened, revealing a very tired looking Aphmau with tangled hair, wearing Aaron's jacket. She looked up at a very tired looking Garroth with tangled hair. "Hey.." she greeted me.
"Hi.." I responded. "May I come in..?" She nodded and moved out of the way. I walked in and she shut the door. She walked upstairs and I followed which led us to her bedroom. She sat on the edge of her bed and I sat next to her. "How are you doing..?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"Not so good... You...?" she asked me.
"I'm managing... barely..." She nodded. "I just thought.. since we both understand what we're going through, we can talk to each other..?"
She paused before giving a small nod. "I-I would like that..."
"Do you want me to go first..?" She nodded again. "I.. I was an idiot to trust a girl like Madison before trusting (Y/N)... (Y/N) has always been there for me and all I had to do was believe her... I can't believe that I couldn't even do something so simple... After everything, I didn't believe her..." Aphmau hugged me comfortingly and I hugged back, feeling just a little bit better. But even a little was a lot to me. We let go.
"My turn, uh.." she started, nervous. "Aaron asked me to be with him when he needed me the most, and I was being too much of a jerk to notice... He is supposed to come first, and I didn't think of his feelings... I-I should have..."
"It's okay..." I said gently. "He will come back, I'm sure.. And then you will be able to say all of that, but to him.." I managed a small smile. So did she.
"(Y/N) will come back too.. Don't worry..." she said reassuringly. I nodded, but part of me didn't believe her. "Thanks for coming.. I do feel a little better.." she said gratefully.
"So do I.." I agreed. Then, her phone pinged.
"Huh..? What's this..?" she said, confused. She opened her phone and read the messages out loud. "Hey Shu, it's been a while... Would you mind meeting me in the spot where I first met the real you? I'll be waiting." Her eyes widened and I smiled a little.
"What the...? Does he mean...?" she stated in disbelief. She looked at me, I assume because she didn't want to leave with me still here.
"Go." I told her, not letting her stay just for me. She quickly got up and rushed out of the house. My smile slipped off of my face and I got up, about to leave.
...Then my phone pinged.
I scrambled to take it out of my pocket, and just before I turned it on, I paused.
It can't possibly be her, right..? Isn't it too good to be true..?
I shook my head, telling myself to just get over it, and turned my phone on. My eyes widened.
It's her...
(Y/N)♡
Meet me at my house. I'll be there. We need to talk.
I was frozen in shock, my eyes rereading those three short sentences over and over again in my mind.
Is this really happening..? Shouldn't I be happy..?
No. I'm scared. Scared that I'll ruin the last chance I have with (Y/N). Scared I'll lose her forever. But even with fear in play, there is no way I'm skipping this opportunity. I have to try.
Snapped out of my shock, I shoved my phone back in my pocket and rushed out of Aphmau's house, walking across the street to (Y/N)'s. I reached the door and lifted my fist to knock. I stopped, taking a breath, then knocked on the door. Every second I had to wait felt agonizing. Then, the lock clicked.
...Dante?
Dante was standing there, and I was a bit confused. Then Travis came up behind him. They both did not look very happy. "We know why you're here, Garroth, and we want you two to make up," Dante started, "but, we don't want to take any risks of (Y/N) getting hurt again. So we will be here just in case she needs us. Got it?"
I gulped. "O-Of course," was my response. Who knew Dante could be so intimidating..
"Good," he said. He then put his hand on my shoulder. "I really hope it goes well." I smiled a little. Both him and Travis moved out of the way so I could walk in.
"She's in her room upstairs," Travis said. I thanked him and started walking. "No hard feelings," I heard him say as I walked past, referring to Dante's behavior earlier.
Yeah, definitely.
It's not like I can blame them, though. They are completely right and I would be worried about (Y/N) if I were them, too. I walked up the stairs, each step feeling heavier and heavier.
After what felt like minutes, I reached her door.
This is it.
I knocked gently. After a second, I heard a faint "come in".
My hand reached for the doorknob and turned it slowly, the door creaking open. After a second of hesitation, I walked into the room of the girl I cared for so deeply, shutting the door behind me.
There she was. Sitting at the foot of her bed, looking down at her feet and fiddling with her fingers anxiously. I didn't know what to do, so I just stood there like an idiot. A couple of moments passed before I finally decided to break the tension. "(Y/N).." I said quietly.
She stopped fidgeting with her fingers as I spoke. There was a pause before her response. "Why.."
"Wh-What..? Why what...?"
"Why..." she started again. She looked up at me. Her expression didn't show sadness or distress, but anger. "Why were you such an idiot?!" The sharpness of her voice caused me to flinch. She stood and faced me. "What you did was not only cruel, but idiotic! Do you not have even a shred of common sense within you?! You don't just throw someone you care for away for another person! Especially not for a person like her! What do you have to say for yourself?!"
I looked down for a moment to collect my thoughts, then looked back up, looking her in the eyes eith a genuine expression. "(Y/N), I... I know there is no excuse for what I did, and frankly, I don't have one anyway.. It was absolutely terrible of me to do that to you and I have spent every single second of every single day reminding myself of that ever since I hurt you... I am so sorry..."
As I finished, I noticed her stone cold gaze soften, which confused me a little. She walked closer to me to the point where we were inches apart. "(Y-Y/N)...?" I stuttered. She ignored me and cupped my cheek in her hand, she seemed to be looking at my face.
"How... How much sleep have you gotten...?" she questioned.
"A-Ah.. That is... not important.." I responded, nervously. She must have noticed the bags under my eyes. I probably looked quite tired aswell. And then... she slapped me. You wouldn't think it would hurt that much looking at her, but you would be wrong. I held my cheek with my hand.
"You dummy! You look terrible..! Just because I am upset with you doesn't mean I don't still care about you..!" I was taken aback by her words a bit.
"Wha...?" was all I managed to say.
And then suddenly... I felt something soft against my lips. She.. she was kissing me.. It was only for a couple seconds, but it felt as if it could last a lifetime. She pulled away, tears in her eyes.
I was flustered and shocked. "(Y/N), wh-why... why did you do that...?" Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all. But considering everything that happened, it was a bit of a shock.
(Y/N) weakly punched my chest, looking up at me with her tear-filled eyes. "So you never forget how much I care about you..! Y-You don't understand, I... I've never felt this way about someone until I met you and the thought of losing you just... it just crushed me... You make me feel wanted and strong, and... and like I'm enough! Like no one ever has before...! I just..." A few tears fell as her voice widdled down to a faint whisper. "I love you, Garroth..." She looked down.
I was absolutely shocked. I stood there for a second, wondering if this was a dream, and after confirming it wasn't, I took my hand and gently lifted (Y/N)'s chin up so she looked at me, giving her a soft smile. "I love you too, (Y/N)."
Her eyes grew wide and she paused before wrapping her arms around my neck, hugging my tightly. I wrapped my arms around her waist and hugged back, a part of me still not being able to believe this was true. After a minute, she loosened the hug a little to look me in the eyes and I could see her big, beautiful smile again after so long.
I touched her forehead to mine and closed my eyes, staying there for a few moments before opening my eyes back up and speaking again. "Thank you so much... for everything..."
Her smile grew. "Thank you too, GarGar."
I pouted. "Hey, I told you not to call me that.." She giggled and smiled nervously.
"Sorry..."
"No you're not."
"You're right, no I'm not."
