Lin couldn't stand George, it had come to a new level of hatred Lin didn't even know was possible until now. They had been rehearsing in the Public Theatre for about a week now and George was always there. Always. He insisted on sitting in for every single rehearsal and always complained about Lin kissing Phillipa. Which caused a whole scene because she felt the need to make him comfortable at all times.

He was getting so frustrated, and it was starting to annoy Vanessa. She understood that he was worried, but, his constant ranting at home was getting too much for her.

It was Friday and they wanted to go through the whole musical once then go over anything that might need to be tweaked. The problem was George wouldn't stop complaining.

"I'm not letting the dude kiss my fiancé."

"It's just a stage kiss," Tommy reassured him as we all sat in our costumes ready to start.

"Honey it really doesn't mean anything," Pippa said, gingerly taking his hand proceeding to press little kisses on his knuckles. "Remember, you're my world... my everything..." she said in her sweet voice and made Lin want to puke.

He understood why she was doing it, but, it was obnoxious that she had to do this, constantly. George was always making a scene about something and Pippa was always there to comfort him, always.

"Tommy we really don't have time for this," Lin said, holding back a groan. "If we don't start now we won't have enough time to get through the first act and work through our kinks."

Tommy nodded understandingly. "I know Lin, and I'm trying."

"I know, but, you shouldn't have to be dealing with this," Lin said in a low voice both him and Tommy looking at George with contempt in their eyes.

"Yeah I know, but, Pippa is so insistent on him being here... and he's so insistent on stopping us every ten minutes." Lin sighed and nodded.

"Hey Pippa we gotta start," Lin called over to her causing the young woman to look back and nod slowly. She pressed her lips against George's in a long kiss, whispering something in his ear before she hurried off to her place.

Lin sighed, 'finally...' he thought as he mentally rolled his eyes.

everyone got into their places as the music began to play and they all heard the familiar start to the musical. The first song few songs went down without a hitch, there were a few bumps in 'My Shot', but, nothing to worry about. Now when the got to 'A Winter's Ball', Lins' hands began to sweat, not because he was nervous about the song, he was nervous George couldn't keep his mouth shut and he would be able to kiss Pippa. 'Not that I want to kiss Pippa.' he thought. 'It's for the song, just the song...' He thought as they easily transitioned to 'Helpless'.

Lin couldn't help glancing at George periodically to make sure he wouldn't stop them, he didn't say anything, but, he most definitely did not look happy. In fact, he looked like he might punch lin right in the face if he could. Yet he said nothing that is right before the kiss he said:

"Stop! This can't happen!"

But before Pippa could look over to see what was the matter, Lin pressed his lips against hers. She seemed surprised but didn't pull away, Lin could've sworn at that moment (though would deny it right afterward if asked) he could feel some sort of spark jolt through his entire body when she kissed him. Of course, it was short-lived, she was the first to pull away and he couldn't but smile at Pippa, starting to get lost in her chocolatey brown eyes.

"You son of a bitch!" A voice from behind him yelled it was George, Lin hadn't even noticed him getting on stage and all of a sudden the larger man was pulling Lin backward. "How fuckin' dare you kiss her like that!"

"Whoah man, calm down it was only a stage kiss." Lin could hear Anthony say as George pulled him off the ground, his legs now dangling above the ground. 'great' He thought, 'just like high school all over again, that's just great.'

"I have a wife, this kiss is scripted it really doesn't me anything-" (Except it did) "look when I kiss Pippa it's not because I want to-" (but he did want to) "it's for my job, I have to." (just an added bonus.)

"Georgey please calm down, honey, I know you don't like that but it really means nothing," Pippa assured him as she got closer and closer to them. "You are my everything... my whole universe, that's you."

George set lin down slowly like he was unsure that's what he really wanted to do. Once Lins' feet were on the ground, George pulled Pippa flush against his body, kissing her fiercely. Lin, and everyone else in the room, rolled their eyes as this was what felt like the millionth time that George had started making out with Pippa when they were trying to rehearse.

"Okay, Okay, break it up love birds, we still have much more to get through so please, let's get back to it!" Tommy hollered from the house.

Thankfully they pulled away from each other and the cast was able to get back to rehearsing the rest of the act without any more interruptions from George. Which Lin was so grateful for and soon he became less tense and just flowed the through the first act happily. 

"That was great!" Tommy said once they finished the first act. "A few things we need to tweek, but, that was great for a first run through." He announced causing a few people to cheer.

Then it was back to work, they started with 'My Shot', going through all the little things until they were happy with where they were. They kept doing that until they got to 'Helpless', they decided to run through it completely as they didn't get to see the whole thing properly. When it came to the kiss, Lin was so nervous about he merely gave her just pecked her lips, pulling away as quickly as he could.

"Uh.. Lin, what was that?"

"It was the blocking..." Lin said, trying to sound innocent.

"Okay, well can we try that again, but, a longer kiss please.. you are supposed to be  in love Lin."

"Right, right... fair point." Lin said with a small chuckle.

So they tried again, and when Lin kiss her, he could feel his heart pounding against his chest as she kissed him back. The kiss was longer, a lot longer and when they pulled away Pippa gave him a look that made Lin feel like he was melting. And there was silence, everyone was silent, even George was silent.

"Was that alright?" Pippa asked looking over to the house.

"Yeah... Yeah.. uh.." Tommy cleared his throat. "Why don't we move on then."

So they all moved on, except, Lin's mind couldn't. He couldn't stop thinking about her lips, and the spark and one question: why did everyone go so silent?
