Part One

Phillipa Soo hated her life and she felt bad about it too. She hated her job, she hated working at that stupid singing dinner working 10 hour shifts. She hated that when she got home she had to even more work. She hated how tired she was, she hated how she'd never be the actress she wanted to be. She hated that she spent so much of her life hoping and believing in a stupid dream. And what she hated the most was how much she couldn't bring herself to hate her piece of shit fiancé.

He was simultaneously the best and worst thing about her life. He was the only person that seemed to really know her, it was good and bad. She could always count on him to be completely honest with her but the truth could hurt and most of the time, it did.

"Phillipa!" George's voice cut through her thoughts like a knife.

"Yes dear?" She asked sweetly looking up to her fiancé from her spot of the couch, as she'd been zoning out in front of the television.

"Where's dinner? I've been working my ass off for hours on end, can't you do one simple thing?!" He asked his voice raising as he spoke. "Damn woman, what the hell is wrong with your mind?!"

"I'm sorry George, I got distracted." She explained to him in a calm voice as she got up. "You just sit down, enjoy your show and I'll come right back out with your dinner."

"I should already have my dinner." He growled at her, his teeth clenched.

"I-I know baby... I'll get it for you right now, I-" she paused seeing George's hand moving. "And I bought a new bottle of whiskey, your-your favorite.." she ended the sentence in sort of squeak, George paused the motioned for her to leave.

Phillipa did not hesitate to scurry off as fast as possible, afraid of what might happen if she didn't move as quickly as possible. She hurried to get him something decent to eat and prepared his drink hoping, praying that he wouldn't be mad at her anymore.

When she placed his food and drink on the table in front of him, he made no sound just shooed her away with a quick motion of his hand. So she did as he wished and left him alone, she didn't want to upset him anymore than already was.

From what she could remember she didn't have any work around the house to do. And she hoped that George wasn't going to find anything to make her do because she was so exhausted. She was going to sleep and hopefully dream of a nicer life than the one she was dealing with right now.

Lin-Manuel Miranda loved his life, almost every part about it filled his heart with joy. Sure not everything was easy all the time, but he enjoyed it immensely. He loved his job, working in the theatre business, it felt like his dreams were coming true every day, and his friends whom supported him through all of it. He loved the musical he'd just currently 'finishing up', it was a little strange and out of the box but that's what made him so excited about it. But most of all, out of everything in his life he loved the most his wife, Vanessa. She was his shinning star, she supported him while also being supper cool and kick ass. In truth Lin felt like she was way too good for him, but appreciated her even more knowing that.

Lin was currently playing the same tune on his piano over and over again. Right now he working on a song for Eliza mostly, Let It Go.. he wasn't sure how he felt about it just yet but it seemed to be coming together so he would keep working on it.

"Lin..?" The voice of his wife called and he looked up in time to see her head poke into the room and he stopped his playing. "I was thinking we could get take out tonight so neither of us have to cook, what'd you think?" She asked.

"Mmhmm, I think that sounds like the best plan."

"I was thinking we could get from that Indian place we love." She said with a smile.

"Yeah but they don't deliver we'd have to go and pick it up."

"And you don't feel like leaving the house?"

"Not right not..." he said timidly.

"How about this." She started. "I can go pick it up and you can stay here and continue work on that song of yours."

Lin nodded showing his agreement. "Yes. That's a great plan."

"But you have to come out for dinner, no eating in your office." She told him and he chuckled softly.

"Oh I wouldn't dream of it." He told her with a smile.

They would then sit together looking through a menu to figure out what they both wanted to eat. It didn't take them long to figure out what main course they would have but since they didn't get take out very often the two them decided it might be nice to splurge a little and a small feast of their own.

Once they order their food, Vanessa soon left to get the food. While Lin was left alone to play his song. He was enjoying the progression he was making, making him even more proud of the work he was doing. Not that it was noble work, he was writing a musical after all, but liking his own music gave him small sense of pride. Over the year he'r found it could be very hard to be proud of your own work, especially when you work so hard on it, you tend to only be able to find the flaws after you've said you're all finished. Something he expected most musicians, writers and artists of any type would have gone through at one point or another in their life.

But still, it was nice to like something of your own hand. After a few hours of work, Vanessa returned to their home, calling out for him.

"In my office!" He called back to her as he stopped playing his piano one last time.

"Well I've got dinner so you've got to come out darling!" She called back to him.

Lin chuckled to himself as he got up and made his way to the living room where his wife was in packing two bags of take out food.

"Hey V, you took a while with the food." Lin commented as he sat down on the couch.

"Yeah, there was traffic and the restaurant was packed." She said with a small sigh. "But that's what I get for thinking New York wouldn't be busy on a Friday."

Lin chuckled at this. "Are you sure you grew up here?" He asked earning an eye roll from her before she sat next to him.

They continued to eat and chat, about over all having a wonderful night.

The long calm before a storm...
