A week later, Caroline was given discharge papers and Bonnie with Elena were with her helping her get her things. Two days later it was the annual Carnival of the town so the girls were busy with decorating.

Rose and Trevor had texted both Slater and her that they found a werewolf and vampire but now they were looking for the moonstone and was going to take time. Slater also gave them an in on the history of said stone.

Katherine hadn't physically shown up and neither had Isobel which made Elena feel as if she was doing something wrong.

Time will have it though, because one night as Elena was doing homework upstairs Finn appeared to her.

"Katherine has been invited in! She's downstairs pretending to be you." Finn warned her and Elena nodded as she got up quietly and grabbed her wooden bullet filled gun from under her desk. She crept down stairs and saw Katherine reaching for the knife. She pulled the trigger, four shots and Katherine was down.

"ELENA!" John gasped shocked eyeing the doubleganger on the floor.

"Sorry..." Elena apologized and then took her phone out.

"I have Katherine." She said on the phone to Slater who said he would call Enzo and come by to get her.

Elena knew that Katherine either knew or had the moonstone, she would have to tell them.

"Who did you call?" John asked confused and suspicious.

"My handler." Elena answered as she walked over to the body and studied it with fascination.

Twenty minutes later, knocks on the door made Elena smile as she opened it and allowed them inside.

Enzo had brought a van from the ARMORY and two agents to help.

"I'm taking point in the interrogation!" Elena called out and Enzo shook his head.

"You always do!" Enzo threw behind him with a chuckle and Elena smirked.

"I have to go, please cover for me with Jenna." Elena asked John who was shocked and confused. Fifteen minutes later, Elena was driving to HQ.

In the interrogation she waiting for Katherine to come around and she didn't have to wait long.

"Hello, many times great grandma!" Elena said with false cheerfulness as she sat cross-legged and folded hands.

"Elena...you know...I know some things." Katherine said with a hoarse tone and Elena eyed the glass of water next to Katherine.

"I know some things too. But here's what I really want to know; where's the moonstone?" Elena asked dropping the happy façade and also dropping the 17 years old act. She felt the switch happen, she was now older, her body stood taller.

"I don't know." Katherine said annoyed and Elena nodded before she raised her arm and her palm started to curl as Katherine's hand started sizzling. Katherine jumped taken aback shaking in her binds.

"How?"

"You forgot your origins already? The ancestors will be disappointed, Katerina." Elena answered back in Bulgarian making Katherine eye her in fear and suspicion.

"I really don't know where it is!" Katherine yelled back in English as her skin started to grow redder.

"Okay." Elena said calmly...too calmly and turned around to leave.

"Let her shimmer for eight hours and I will try again." Elena reported back to Enzo and Virginia who nodded.

"Go, back to bed." Virginia told her softly and Elena nodded before biding them good night and walked to her car. As she was opening the car she saw in her window's reflection Sophia.

"She really doesn't know. The Lockwoods have the stones. Let her go. You shouldn't use your magic against kin! It's against our family laws! You were taught that, Marilena!" Sophia said angrily and disappointed.

"Will she harm my friends?" Elena asked angrily too as she turned to face her ancestor.

"If you continue torturing her yes!" Sophia said disapprovingly and Elena sighed before looking at the agency building and then her car.

"Fine!" Elena cursed as she walked back.

"Why let her go?" Virginia exclaimed and Elena sighed and explained what Sophia had said.

"But we can press her for more info about Klaus and the sacrifice." Enzo added and Elena looked disappointed.

"I'm sorry but the Ancestors have spoken. And I don't want to risk her seeking retribution on my family." Elena said disappointed.

Virginia and Enzo shook their heads but nodded understanding the importance between the Ancestors, their orders and witches.

Elena walked back inside the room and glared at Katherine.

"Your family had these laws, do you remember them?" Elena asked her in Bulgarian and Katherine nodded but didn't say anything.

"Tell them to me." Elena ordered in Bulgarian.

"Never harm a kin with our powers. Obey the laws of time. Listen to Mother Nature and the Ancestors. Don't over use your powers for gluttony. Be smart and careful. You're not god just a vessel that the power of time uses to convey with the physical world. Take care of your body and mind. Be respectful of the Elders. Avenge those killed by injustice but don't become unjust yourself." Katherine stated in Bulgarian and Elena smiled softly.

"And a new one added around the 1900s; "Don't ever say to anyone that you're a Petrova, your blood is valuable, it's the blood that created the vampiric species." Elena added and Katherine looked surprised and sad.

"I forgot the first law and caused you harm. I'm sorry but if you say to anyone that there is a Petrova witch alive and well to anyone I will end you. And a last thing if you seek retribution against my family for today I will kill you, laws be damned. You're free to go and please don't come back my town." Elena admitted vulnerable but throughout her speech during the last sentence she looked terrifyingly serious. Katherine stared at her and felt her stomach turn.

There was something alien about the woman before Katherine. Something's not making sense. She found herself nodding at Elena's words and threats.

Once Katherine was released, Elena went back home where she had to sneak in and be extremely quiet. While Katherine headed to the Boarding House. Katherine had watched Elena for a few days before she was caught and after what she was subjected to, she was sure the Salvatores needed to know how dangerous she was!

But as she was walking up the driveway she froze seeing her mother standing in the middle.

"Turn around, Katerina." Her mother ordered sternly and Katherine couldn't find it in herself to disobey so she turned around. In her compelled home she broke down crying, she had so many centuries to see her mother...and they were protecting her! Where were they when she needed them?

"You didn't listen to them." Another male voice said scaring the shit out of her.

"Who are you?" Katherine exclaimed and the man smiled.

"No one in particularly. I just was watching you in a non-creepy way and heard your thoughts. Although I am forgotten by my family but in your case they had tried for at least a century to get through to you but your spiritual ego was through the roof, they couldn't break through it. You weren't forgotten." The man said reassuringly and Katherine nodded not sure what else to do. Once she nodded the man disappeared before her eyes and she hadn't even blinked.

Elena felt her bed dip and opened her eyes to see Finn rejoining her in her bed and she smiled sleepily before snuggling closer to him.
