Chapter 8

Third person pov

They slept in the school's main academic building that night. Getting Shoto to go back to the dorms had been a chore. It had taken a while to get him to let go of Touya, and then after that he kept glued to Takashi's side. It seemed the brunette was quickly growing on the half-and-half boy and becoming someone he could trust. Takashi was happy to cuddle with the teen, telling stories about Touya that made the scarred man blush right up to his ears.

But now they were left alone, lying together on a bed in a secure room with no windows. Cameras were stationed outside, along with a live guard. They'd both been given a change of clothes. They were just sweatpants and plain white shirts kept on hand by Recovery Girl, but it was better than nothing at all. Takashi felt content laying in Touya's arms, gazing into his turquoise eyes with a smile.

"I'm glad he said yes." Touya mumbled, brushing some of his husband's brown locks of hands away. Takashi smiled. It was the soft kind that showed how tired he was, but Touya loved it anyway. He loved everything about Takashi. The man was a force of nature. He didn't let anyone or anything get in the way of him getting what he wanted. He'd wanted Touya to come apologize, and he'd wanted to get to Shoto. He'd made that happen even if they did almost get taken down by UA's staff.

"I am too." Takashi murmured, bringing a hand to settle on Touya's cheek. Touya closed his eyes and basked in the feeling. "And I'm sorry for judo flipping you in front of the entire school's faculty."

"It's alright. I think I deserved it." Touya smiled a little, opening his eyes to see Takashi smiling back. The scarred man leaned forward, pressing his lips against his husband's. Takashi responded happily ,and Touya was glad. It was a relief to know that he'd done something right, and that Takashi was still here and that they were okay. Even if he had helped kidnap a child and caused a catastrophic forest fire.

"Still." Takashi frowned a little. "I let my quirk get the better of me again. I shouldn't have taken that out on you, even if a one-word apology is dumb."

Touya chuckled a little, pulling his soulmate closer. "I said it was fine, babe. Seriously. It'll be alright." Touya buried his face in Takashi's soft hair. "I'm just glad it's over with. Maybe this shit show will lighten up a little."

"I'm excited to meet the kids. I hope they like me." Takashi snuggled closer to his husband, reveling in the familiarity despite the fact that they were practically in a holding cell. Touya smiled, taking a deep breath and forcing himself to relax as he closed his eyes. Takashi was always rather warm. His quirk greatly effected his body heat, and Touya was feeling rather cold with his own being suppressed.

"They'll love you." Touya mumbled, letting the exhaustion and stress caused by the day creep over his consciousness. "They'd be idiots not to."

Class 1-A was teeming with stress as they sat in class for the first time since moving into the dorms. The chattering in the room came mostly from the more light-hearted, like Kaminari and Ashido. It helped to sooth their nerves somewhat. Even Bakugo was quiet, twirling his pencil between two fingers to try and diffuse some of the anxiety ebbing away at the very little control he held over his temper.

Aizawa sighed heavily as he looked out over the twenty kids. Midoriya hadn't stopped twitching, and was looking around like he expected a threat to pop out. Aizawa knew Todoroki hadn't told anyone about Dabi, who'd been dubbed Touya now. The half-and-half boy had promised not to say a word about it. The lack of complete panic and frantic questioning proved that he'd held true to his word.

"Everyone." The underground pro spoke, silencing the talking and drawing everyone's attention. "I've got a few important announcements to make, so listen up."

This seemed to subdue them completely, as though they were expecting bad news. Aizawa felt himself frown at this. These kids were... well, just that. Just kids. They'd been through too much for their age. It was saddening to see them expecting the worst. He sighed again, rubbing his tired eyes. Hopefully things would calm down a little. The League wasn't going to come out of the shadows for a while, if they were lucky. Not with their leader incapacitated.

"We're having a new teacher join the staff as my assistant. He'll be following you to every one of your classes, and will act as another form of protection." Aizawa drawled. It seemed to peak the interested of many in the room, and a few whispers washed over the crowd for a brief moment. Aizawa's eyes scanned the room for any signs of doubt or possible fear, but saw one. The only one who didn't look curious was Shoto, who looked more excited than not.

"You can come in now." Aizawa's gaze shifted toward the door, and it immediately swung open. Takashi bounced into the room happily, wearing the same outfit he'd had on the day before. His green eyes gleamed as he cheerfully looked over the stunned class, catching Shoto's mismatched eyes briefly as he boisterously smiled at them. They seemed rather shocked by his sudden and appearance and bright apparel.

"Hi! I'm Takashi!" The brunette chirped. "I'll be assisting your teacher in any way I can! I'll also be smashing in the faces of any villains that dare try to touch you."

His smile looked rather threatening for a moment, but the feeling was gone as soon as it came. Somehow, the students of 1-A felt more assured. A bit amused and a tad lost as to how to respond to their young, exuberant new teacher, but calmer. This was a short man who looked like he was too sunshine and rainbows to ever hold himself in a fight, yet it was oddly clear that wasn't the case. Some people just had that air about them.

"Takashi's quirk is "Rage." The angrier he gets, the stronger he gets. Luckily he likes brats like yourselves, and happens to get pretty pissed off when you're threatened. Hence why he's been hired." Aizawa said. Everyone stared at Takashi. The idea of him getting angry seemed a bit odd considering how happy and content he looked.

A hand raised. Aizawa sighed.

"Yes, Yaoyorozu?" The man asked, glancing at Takashi. He simply stood there happily, humming quietly to himself under his breath. How someone had enough energy to be so excitable all the time, he didn't know.

"Why is there an extra desk?" She asked hesitantly as she lowered her hand. "I noticed that there's an extra in the front, that's all..."

"Right. We're getting a new student." Aizawa nodded. Shock was rather expected as several people began to ask why they'd be getting a new student right after this all was happening. Takashi was again remained unfazed. He let the kids ride out their shock and blurt out their questions without batting an eye. The guy had worked with preschoolers prior to this, so Aizawa supposed he would have a high patience meter.

"He's the reason I've been hired!" Takashi chirped as soon as it was quiet enough. Everyone's eyes shifted from Aizawa back to him. "He's older than all of you by quite a bit! In fact, he's already an adult. He made some mistakes and is coming to complete his high school education as part of a reform project he's been placed under. This will also allow him to be under the supervision of pro-heros twenty four hours a day!"

Silence settled over everyone, looks of shocked contemplation on their faces. Iida was the first to speak up.

"Are you insinuating that... a villain will be joining our class?" He asked quietly, but everyone seemed to have been thinking it. The tension immediately thickened, but Takashi looked on the verge of laughing anyway. Almost as though he couldn't sense the strain on the room. Aizawa wasn't that dense, though. The brunette was too clever not to notice. He was just choosing not to react.

"Technically he isn't a villain." Aizawa's lips stretched into a smirk. "I'm going to be blunt. A lot of you will probably recognize him from summer camp. He came and apologized for what he did and explained what happened, and was checked over by a lie-detecting quirk. He also has quirk suppressing bracelets on that will prevent him from using his power."

Nobody spoke, though a few did gape. "He was a student here before he was forced to drop out for familial and medical reasons! He got wrapped up in the attack on your camp without meaning to. Don't worry. I'll crack his skull in two if he tries anything!" Takashi chirped. Aizawa was surprised to see a few people relax at that, though they did eye Takashi a bit more warily than before. Aizawa sighed.

"Alright, you can come in too." The dark haired man seemed to decide.

Touya's heart was pounding so loudly he wouldn't be surprised if the kids inside could hear it. If they killed him, he wouldn't blame them. He almost burned the faces off a few, and cremated some others. He was rather nervous. The kid he'd helped snatch and traumatize was lying in wait inside. Albeit, they were a bit of an explosive asshole. The kind that bounced back from bad shit pretty fast, so he had some hope.

Still, he couldn't help but hold his breath as he slunk into the room with his hands shoved in his pockets, his shoulders hunched, and a scowl on his face. He didn't want to look like a threatening thug! It just happened sometimes! And by the horrified looks on their faces, he was guessing he was having just that effect. At least he wasn't wearing a uniform like they were. He'd traded his cat shirt, which had been sweat in too much to be worn again, for the plain white shirt he'd slept in. A bit bright for his tastes, but better than smelling like a men's locker room.

"Scar fucker?!" Bakugo shrieked.

At the same time, Midoriya sputtered out a loud, "D-Dabi?!"

The redhead scuffed his boot against the ground in a manner that seemed grumpy and put out, but in reality he was just nervous and sort of wanted to cry just a little. But he was the tough one in the relationship (or so Takashi let him think) and thus had to keep his feelings on the inside save for when he and his husband were together in private. Plus, sour mannerisms acted as good defense mechanisms.

"Quiet down." Aizawa said, and they did. Touya glanced up, eyes meeting those of his younger brother. He couldn't help but smile just a little and straighten. "He can't hurt you. Not only does he have quirk suppressant bracelets on, but he's here to be reformed. That wouldn't be the case if he hadn't shown potential prior to now."

This seemed to calm the craze... somewhat. "But what about all he did, Mr. Aizawa?! Are you really just gonna... he helped kidnap Bakubro, man!" Kirishima exclaimed, eyeing "Dabi's" red hair. The scarred man narrowed his turquoise eyes back, earning a brief yet sharp look from his husband who still stood by Aizawa's side. Touya immediately lowered his gaze to the ground. This was fine, right? Totally.

"Him begin there was... a long story, but did he actually hurt any of you?" Aizawa raised a brow. Kaminari did not hesitate to rise from his seat. The dark-haired pro hero knew immediately he was about to regret his teaching career.

"He hurt my feelings!" Kaminari said accusingly. Touya snorted under his breath, muttering the word "pussy" to himself before he could reign it in. Takashi seemed to have heard him, as per usual, but looked more amused than not. Touya was glad. Though still, he didn't want to be here. But if it meant no jail time and him getting to stay with Takashi, then it was worth it. Especially if they could get Shoto.

"Physically?" Aizawa continued, his eye twitching as the electric blonde plopped back down with a huff. Nobody spoke. "Right. It's because he wasn't trying to. If he'd wanted you dead at the camp, you'd have been dead at the camp. Now, introduce yourself properly so I can start class."

Touya sighed heavily as twenty pairs of eyes holding nothing but fear, resentment, and anxiety fell upon him. He'd expected this, but that didn't mean it sucked any less. He focused more on the soulmate bond he felt. The comfort that came within being Takashi's general vicinity was truly something to luxuriate in. It was warm, but it also made Touya want to hug the shorter man and squish his cheeks.

"Hi." Touya said in the driest tone anyone had ever heard. Clearly, he was just as happy about this arrangement as they were. "I'm Touya Todoroki."

The class exploded again, half screaming out questions and exclamations of surprise, and the others turning to Shoto in the back. The half-and-half boy looked unperturbed as he lowered his gaze to his desk in an almost shy manner as Touya's eyes came to rest on him once more, smiling slightly to himself. Touya couldn't help but smirk at their reactions. If only he had a camera. The looks on their faces were something he wanted to remember for the rest of his days.

"Oi, you guys are loud." Touya's voice held more snap than he'd meant it to. Most of the class flinched at his tone, clearly annoyed. "Call me Touya to keep things simple. Yes, I'm Shoto's older brother. Get the hell over it."

"Get the hell over it?! You shouldn't even fucking be here!" Bakugo's palms exploded threateningly. Touya stared at him. That was the kidnapped one. He looked fine. Still had his temper and wasn't shaking or having traumatic flashbacks. All in all, he seemed... alright. He had all his limbs and appendages, both his eyes. That creepy ass blonde chick hadn't cut his tongue out like she'd requested to, which he supposed as good.

"Everyone calm down and get quiet. He's going to be joining the class. He's an asshole, but he won't hurt you. Leave him and Todoroki be. If there's information they want you to have, they'll give it. Don't pester them otherwise." Aizawa said sharply. Though pale and a little shaky, most of 1-A nodded. "Good. Your parents have already been called and informed of the situation and are on board, so long as your safety is ensured. And it is, hence why Takashi is here. He's going to be babysitting Touya. Now you, go sit."

"Sir, yes sir." Touya said sarcastically, shooting Takashi a quick wink before plopping down in the desk set out for him. Hagakure, the one behind the redhead, immediately squeaked and began to sweat. Even Shoji looked a bit nervous as Touya leaned back and folded his arms over his chest, sighing through his nose and closing his eyes. He could get through this. He had Takashi and Shoto, and that's all he needed.
