Chapter 4

I'm just gonna like,,, double update this because this chapter is literally the same as the last, it's just looking at Nezu's side of things more.

Third person pov

Nezu hadn't gotten much information beforehand. Snipe simply radioed in, stating that Dabi was on his way to the front gate with another man. Of course he'd panicked an ensured every other teacher and hero headed in that direction! He'd darted out of his office so fast he almost tripped over his own tail.

Imagine his surprise when he exited the school, trailed by just about every faculty member in the building, only to see the 'heinous child-killer Dabi' being dragged up to the gate's by a man in a colorful cupcake shirt and galaxy suspenders. Not to mention his mismatched knee socks, and his bright smile. As for Dabi, Nezu had never seen a man look more defeated. Not to mention he'd undergone... well, a change. His black hair was now a brilliant red, and he was wearing a shirt with a rather cute cat on it.

The brown-haired man had bounced right on up to the gate without a trace of fear. Nezu immediately took note of their interlocked hands, and the fact that Touya looked almost ready to slump over and just give up completely. It was clear that the the scarred young man didn't want to be here. It seemed like his green-eyed companion was simply dragging him along against his will. It made him... well, curious.

"Hello!" The brunette had chirped cheerfully, without a care in the world. As though he wasn't holding hands with a criminal. Nezu let his eyes scan over them. He didn't see any weapons, but Dabi reportedly hadn't really used any. Just his quirk, which was destructive. He glanced at Aizawa. Sure enough, the irritable teacher already had his Erasure focused on Dabi. The only issue was that they didn't know this new man's quirk... if he was even a threat...

"Hello." Nezu had offered back, giving a pleasant smile as he observed them. They didn't seem threatening, but looks could be quite deceiving! "Can we help you?"

The man had lit up more than before. Nezu hadn't realized it was possible for a human to be so terribly happy. It was an odd yet interesting sight. He was also glad to hear that the present teachers were staying silent. He didn't want any interruptions as he assessed the situation, and tried to figure out if they needed to attack or not. The brunette was practically bouncing now.

"Yes, yes, thank you!" He exclaimed, pulling Dabi forward. The man looked as though he hadn't been expecting it, but he didn't pull away. He allowed himself to be jerked forward without complaint. "I'm Takashi, and this is my husband and soulmate, T-"

This time, Dabi did react. He lightly yanked his apparent soulmate just enough to make him stop talking. Nezu tried to get over his shock. Dabi hadn't seemed like someone who cared about other people, but soulmates were certainly special cases. This was a good thing! They could most definitely use this advantage. It was a much-welcome surprise. Though for Dabi to be destined to be with someone so... well, cheerful.

Nezu watched Takashi's eye twitch in response to being interrupted. Fearlessly, he gave Dabi a yank several times stronger than the one he'd gotten, kicking the redhead in the leg for good measure. Nezu watched with amusement dancing in his eyes as Dabi winced, looking an awful lot like a puppy being scolded. Interesting, interesting, interesting.

"As I was saying," Takashi's voice had an underlying threat to it that Nezu had to admire just a little bit, "this is my soulmate and husband, Touya Todoroki! Isn't he a little cutie?!"

Oh.

Gasps shot through the group of teachers and other pros behind him, and Nezu couldn't blame them. Touya Todoroki? He remembered reading about the boy's death six, nearly seven years ago, was it? The red hair and eye color certainly made sense now, as did the fire quirk. But he was alive? And a villain with a peppy soulmate? Nezu felt his smile grow. This was beginning to get quite riveting! Takashi didn't seem fazed by their shock, but Dabi, or Touya now, looked like he wanted to bury himself.

"Ah, so he's your soulmate." Nezu noted aloud. The teachers behind him quieted again as the brunette sprung right back to life. Nezu shifted a little, mind reeling.

"Yes, he is! We've been soulmates for six years now, and married for almost three." Takashi proudly held their hands up for everyone to see. Touya didn't seem too happy about this, scuffing his boot against the ground to subtly show his distaste. It was pretty clear he not only tolerated a great deal from his significant other, but was afraid of him just the right amount as well. "We're here because Touya has something to say. Don't you, honey?"

There was something amusing about hearing a 5'3" man in a cupcake sweater smile and refer to a villain by a pet name. It was even more amusing that Touya didn't even look bothered or surprised. As in, he was used to it, and it was normal. Nezu loved that! This was going to be absolutely splendid. One-hundred percent amazing. He was extremely ready to see what would become of this.

Touya gave an awkward grunt, not raising his head. His dislike over the situation was clear. He hadn't said a word, and had barely glanced up since getting here. And when he did, it was to scowl and glare at everyone like he was going to rip their throats out. Nezu wondered if the scarred man knew how threatening he looked. He supposed it didn't matter. Watching him wither under Takashi's expectant stare made Nezu giddy. If they had Takashi's cooperation, they definitely had Touya's.

Touya sighed heavily, glancing up. "Sorry." He grumbled out in a gruff tone. Nezu immediately noticed the way Takashi tensed. Not only that, but the short man's green eyes began to turn red, followed closely by his skin. Crimson bled out across him so fast Nezu could have blinked and missed it. It was very clearly a part of his quirk. Nezu flicked his hand at Aizawa, a sign not to erase the brunette's quirk. He wanted to see this.

"Touya, honey." Takashi smiled dangerously up at the redhead, who was most definitely sweating. "I said we came to apologize, didn't I?"

Nezu watched Touya gulp. Gleefully, he realized he'd been right. Touya loved this man, but was scared enough of him that it counted. "Y-Yeah, babe?" He sputtered out, his voice higher than it was before. Nezu wanted some tea to cackle into. This was absolutely brilliant! They had Endeavor's not-so-dead son, who had a powerful quirk, and information on villains... right in their control. So long as Takashi complied.

"Then what... the hell..." Nezu watched more sweat pour down Touya's face, ears twitching when the man's turquoise eyes went wide as Takashi grabbed his wrist. Takashi's smile was gone now, his skin a boiling red. Touya's face scrunched up as Takashi's grip tightened. "Was that?!"

In an instant, Takashi had flipped a man half a foot taller than himself over his shoulder and onto his back in a fit of rage. Clearly, anger activated his quirk, which enhanced his strength somehow. Nezu's grin widened, his beady eyes widening with excitement. Two powerful quirks. If they had Takashi on their side, which Nezu sensed wouldn't be hard, Touya would inevitably follow. They were a package deal. Perfect.

Touya didn't even try to get up. He just laid, splayed out like a star fish. Takashi didn't acknowledge the crowd of teachers and other confused pros as he began to pace. "We came here to give a heart felt apology, because your dumbass kidnapped an entire kid and tried to kill a bunch of the other little cuties, and all you can muster up is a little 'sorry'?!" Takashi's redness faded from his skin slightly as he threw his hands up in the air. Nezu wanted to jump with joy! This was absolutely flawless!

Takashi huffed before continuing in his rant. "One of those kids was your brother, in case you forgot. Your brother, Touya! The one you left with that asshole?!" He exclaimed haughtily. Nezu grinned even wider. He'd also been right in thinking there was some questionable history with Endeavor locked away in there. Why else would Touya not make it known that he was alive? Unless Endeavor knew he was, and simply chose to claim he was dead. Either way, there was something juicy there.

Touya didn't even move. "Sorry, honey." He said, gazing up at the clouds. He was very clearly done. He was fine being at the mercy of his pissed off soulmate, apparently. He'd just accepted this, which made this all the more ideal in Nezu's eyes. "I didn't have much time to think of what I would say."

"Don't bullshit me!" Takashi immediately hissed at him, red eyes narrowing as his quirk once again reared its head. Nezu really wished he'd brought some tea with him. He'd been expecting an attack, but this was so, so much better in so many ways! Oh, the possibilities were endless with Touya Todoroki, and with his soulmate, Takashi.

"Sorry, honey." Touya repeated, still not making any moves to get up. Nezu felt nothing short of sheer, complete amusement. Of all the things he'd witnessed in his time as a principal here at UA, this was the best by far. Touya was clearly already done with his treacherous ways! Ripe for reformation. If he even needed it at this point. He had been a student here once, correct? Nezu would have to take a look into that.

Takashi seemed to remember they had an audience, but didn't look the least bit ashamed as his attention turned back to Nezu. "I would like to apologize on his behalf. I'm a teacher, so I know, and he should know," Takashi glared down at Touya again, nose scrunching, "how you all felt. I can't believe him! One word, Touya?! You thought up your vows in two minutes, you could have at least come up with more than a single word."

Nezu wanted to laugh until his heart burst out of his small, furry chest. Takashi had a teaching degree! A background in teaching! This truly was perfect. He could already feel a plan forming in his brilliant, brilliant mind. This was going to be splendid in every possible way. He could feel it! Sure, some others might not like it, but that had never stopped Nezu before.

"You're totally right, dear. Totally right." Touya sighed. This was faultless in every way from what Nezu could see. Touya was whipped! Takashi could say jump, and Touya would ask how high! Against their dynamic and the fact that he was wearing shorts, Takashi was still wearing the metaphorical 'pants in the relationship.'

"It's quite alright, Takashi-san. Soulmates are fickle things!" Nezu raised a paw to let the teachers know it was okay to stand down. Touya had begun to sit up. Though he winced as he did so, he didn't seem mad in the least. In fact, he looked as though he'd expected it almost. Like he was fine with it happening. Could it be he felt he deserved it? That he was... by chance, actually sorry?

"Oh, he's a sweetheart. Well, and an idiot, but we're working past that!" Takashi clapped his hands together, and Nezu decided right then and there that he loved this man. He didn't like many humans, but this one was brilliant! Behind the brunette, Touya stood up, cracking his back with a wince as he began to wander back over to the man who'd judo flipped him to begin with. Takashi smiled radiantly. "Touya is ready to face the consequences of his actions."

"I am?" Touya immediately asked, resulting in him getting elbowed into silence. Nezu was sure his face would split in two if he smiled any wider. This was simply exemplary, that was all. A potential new teacher and his powerful, information goldmine of a soulmate! It would also look quite good for UA if they could turn a villain around onto their side. It would help restore some of the public's faith in them.

"I'm glad you came to us. Why don't you come in so we can have a little chat?" Nezu raised his paw again, and every teacher and extra pro here for security, save for Aizawa, immediately dispersed. He could tell they were hesitant, but he greatly appreciated their trust and silence during this confrontation. Snipe returned to the gate and deactivated it as Takashi took Touya's hand in his.

Despite the fact that he'd flipped Touya onto his back without a second thought, his fingers laced with the scarred man's in a way that was clearly meant to be comforting as Aizawa seethed at them. Touya immediately relaxed, allowing himself to be dragged onto UA property. Nezu eyed the redhead as he gazed at the sky again, sighing heavily, but not at all fighting it. He smiled again, leading them towards the school with flourish. He knew bringing a criminal onto school property a mere day after the dorms were instated as a horrible idea, but this had too much potential for him to simply let it go.

So he wouldn't. He'd grip onto this with two paws and see it through to the end, because he had a feeling things were going to get a whole lot more interesting.
