Varian's POV

The celebration for the Princess's return was going on, while I was sitting here... rotting in this room. It was the perfect moment to escape, since everyone is busy, too caught up in the excitement, even the guards. The window was open, the only way to escape.

I slid the window open, while slowly climbing down the side of the wall, and carefully putting one foot down after another until I got to the ground. The crowd was humongous, filled with what seemed to be thousands of people. Wow the princess must be so popular now for locking me up, I thought while making my way through the crowd

It couldn't be this easy could it? I thought. It seemed as if absolutely no one noticed me, like always, you might think after threatening to kill the royal family your face might be noticed. I casually walked through the crowd towards the exit, anticipating the moment, the sweet moment of finally getting out of this place.

I was until my excitement was broken when one of the guards yelled out, "The boy!!! He's missing!!!" Quickly, i darted towards the exit, out of nowhere a hefty like guard appeared right in the doorway. I ran the opposite direction only to find another guard. Two more Guards appeared from the corners.

I stood still in one spot thinking of a way to get out of this mess. To make matters even worse, they started closing in on me. Getting closer and closer and closer. I started panting, everyone's eyes ere on me, I could feel them burning into my skin. I flinched as i felt one guard  put his hand on my shoulder. Another one grabbed my wrist, as tried to resist their force. The other two backed off, since it doesn't take that many guards to handle me.

I looked around, I couldn't find the princess, that little backstabber, and she's the one who gets the happy ending? How is that fair? I am going to make sure she doesn't get that pleasure.
