Rapunzel's pov

I watched with happiness as I saw a hint of joy light up on his face. But it left just as quickly as it came. His somber, dead eyes once again returned to his face, leaving behind the speck of liveliness that was once there.

I watched as the wind flowed threw his dark ruffled hair, lifting it back, giving him a solemn but yet peaceful look. His face held no expression whatsoever, even when I spoke to him.

Because of this I was grateful for that small piece of happiness that was playing on his lips for only a split second. I decided to speak up, even if I had to disrupt his peace.

"Varian ... I know I have said this various times and that these words probably mean nothing to you but... please forgive me... I'm sorry" I said with a pleading look in my eyes.

He didn't even look at me as I spoke these words... only a quick glance. I looked down towards the floor, concentrating on my feet as sadness swelled inside me. His coldness towards me was so unbearable, and that blank look in his eyes only showed that he really didn't care.

" I'm not ready to answer your plead... I can't... not this instant" he said still without even looking my way. My face lit up as I heard these words. This meant that he was interested, interested in forgiving and mending our relationship, heck we could even become friends again.

He looked me straight in the eyes with his blank face. I instantly stiffened, it felt like his gaze was penetrating through me. "Don't take this the wrong way, don't think anything more than beyond me accepting your apology" he said in a cold tone

It sent shivers through my spine. I calmly got out of my seat and walked respectfully towards the door while saying a small goodbye.

I felt his cold eyes piercing my skin as I walked out. I don't know how this is going to end up, but it is a start to the road to recovery.
