The Prisoner
Rapunzel's POV
I looked sadly towards where the scene had happened. I put my hands up to my mouth, frowning at the sight.
I turned towards my dad and said, "I thought you said you would help him, but that is not what it looks like."
"We are trying to help him.. but he just won't accept our hospitality," said the king in a steady tone.
"This is not right, we can't go on like this anymore... I will talk to him," I said while calmly walking away as my father watched.
privately I have been priming myself for the moment when I would have this conversation with the boy. Carefully choosing mediocre words that would be neither bad but at the same time not too positive for him to grow angry. I walked through the long hallway towards the dungeon.
It was so weird how the bright majestic looking rooms turned into a cold stoned cellar full of filthy criminals. I looked around, searching for the boy, but he was no where to be found, which was weird. Confused, I came up to a hefty looking guard and asked him where the prisoner could be found.
" Sure princess, just follow me," he said as I followed him towards back upstairs. He led me down the bright hallway, towards the guest rooms. The vacant guest rooms that was never used and probably never will be.
The guard dropped a small key in my hand as he walked away saying, "All yours princess,". I stared at the key in my hand, while taking a deep breath. slowly I turned the key in the keyhole. I creaked the door open only to be covered by darkness.
I walked towards the bed, to find a boy looking out of the half- closed windows, that barely allowed light in. I pulled a nearby chair up next to him. He stayed silent. i watched the clock tick, the only noise keeping the room from being completely silent. I didn't know how to start the conversation.
He continued looking out the window, pretending I'm not even here. I could feel his anger for me grow and grow, growing to the point where a tear came strolling down his delicate cheeks. He didn't look like he wanted affection, so I somewhat kept my distance. "Hello princess," he finally said after the agonizing silence.
"H-hi varian," i said nervously," long time no see,"
" It would be nice to allow the air to circulate around the room," he said while still keeping his eyes on the window. I glanced at the window of find a lock along with a small chain, to secure it even more. He gazed into my eyes, with those beautiful, unique blue eyes. I had an idea.
"Wait here, I'll be right back," I said while running out the door. "it's not like I'm going anywhere," he mumbled underneath his breath. but not quiet enough for me to hear. I frowned at the comment.
I HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOYED THS CHAPTER
