Prologue: Arriving in the City
After you got off a train, you started walking through Tokyo while listening to music from his headphones.
During your stroll, you looked at all the buildings and people passing by.
"So this is Tokyo," you thought. "Seems pretty nice."
You then sensed something, and you looked in the direction east of yourself and saw a pretty dark aura coming from a tall building.
"Curses," you thought, running towards the area.
You went into an alley before climbing up the fire escapes and going up onto the roof. You then ran across the rooftops as you got closer to the building.
Arriving at the building, you saw a heavily cracked window and got an idea. You ran across a crane and jumped before smashing through the window.
After landing inside, you sensed something coming at yourself and dodged what appeared to be a nail. Afterwards, you turned to see a girl with brown hair, wearing a high school uniform.
"Hi."
"Why the hell did you crash through the window?" she asked.
"Um..." you thought for a second, "it was better than taking the stairs?"
"The curse will be heading here," she groaned. "Follow me, stay quiet when we hide, and do whatever I say."
"I pretty much caused this, so that's fair."
You and the girl went behind a corner and waited for the curse to arrive.
"Wonder what horrific form this one has taken," you thought.
"Are you thinking?" she asked.
"No."
The curse then arrived, and the two of you saw it as a quadrupedal creature with arms coming out of its mouth and eyes on its hands.
"You know how to fight these things?" she whispered.
"Gun uses Jujutsu," you responded, pulling out a revolver. "Been on one side of my family for generations. Never let them down."
"Let's find out. You take the first strike."
You nodded and got out of the corner before shooting at the Curse, blasting two of its arms off. The girl then came out and threw a bunch of nails in the air as you fired at the curse again to distract it and she smashed her nails into the remaining arms' eyes.
You then charged up your gun and fired a powerful shot at the curse, blasting its upper torso off and killing it.
"Huh, that was surprisingly easy," she said.
"It might be one of those things that take on a completely scary appearance to seem stronger, but I might be jumping to conclusions. And even if I wasn't, we won't be lucky next time."
Walking out of the building, you went through the streets feeling glad to be out of there.
"You don't seem to be from around here," you said to her.
"I could say the same for you."
"I just arrived today."
"I arrived a month ago."
"I'm Y/N."
"I'm Nobara. Thanks for the help."
"No problem. Well, I should head to my uncle's."
"I better return to my dorm. See ya."
"Bye," you said to her as you walked away, and so did Nobara.
