ASHTON POV

"Don't pass out on me please, the ambulance will be right here." I said to no use as she passed out.

She was dehydrated, in immense pain. It was no surprise.  I checked her pulse as the paramedics entered and we got her laid on the stretcher and into the ambulance.

The ride began as they hooked her up to monitors and an IV

"I'm right here soph."

She kept slipping in and out of consciousness. I was sure it was appendicitis.

We reached the hospital and rolled her out and into a room.

"Dr. Walker step out please." Tomlinson.

"Can I just stay here?"

"You know you can't. Are you sure it's appendicitis though?"

"Completely. She also had eye surgery yesterday so she has a bit of drugs in her system cause of that."

"I'll take care of that, thank you."

He took charge of the room ordering scans and medicines as I stepped out. I knew I couldn't be in there.

I watched from afar before a nurse took me away into a waiting room.

I sat there for ten minutes maybe when the same nurse came to me.

"Dr. Walker she needs surgery for appendicitis, they're prepping her right now I just need you to sign these forms."

"Of course. Did she wake up though?"

"She didn't."

"Alright." I took the clipboard and pen from her hands and started filling it out.

"Are you okay Ash? I saw her name on the OR board." Duke said as he came in sitting with me.

"Yeah, appendicitis."

"You didn't answer my question."

"I'm fine." I wasn't.

"I know that's a lie. But let's go with it."

"Thank you."

We sat in silence for two hours before Tomlinson came in.

"She made it through without a hitch, she's asking for you in recovery. I'll see you both in a while."

We made our way to recovery and immediately heard her voice.

"I need my dad, it hurts please."

"He's coming."

"Go and get him then."

"I'm here."

"Daddyyyyyyy." The effect of anesthesia.

I took a seat beside her.

"I love you so much Daddy but not this nurse she's mean."

"I love you too." mouthing sorry to the nurse, she smiled letting me know it was okay. It happened often when the patients said we were mean or stuff but it was all an effect of the medicine and we knew it.

I stayed with her for a while as she kept waking up and then sleeping again not staying conscious for more than ten minutes. Duke was paged to the ER so he went there.

"Dad water please." She said. I helped her drink some of the water that was kept on the table right beside her bed.

Tomlinson came in.  I saw her body stiffen.

"Hey Sophie how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. A bit sore."

"Good, you'll be able to go home tomorrow and you'll be in a room soon enough. Just get the nurse to page me if you need me." He said and went out. 

"Everything okay?" She nodded. 

SOPHIE POV 

The same doctor who killed grandma. The same doctor cause of whom grandma is no more—the same doctor who took her from me. 

I was pulled from my thoughts by a stinging pain in my eyes. 

"It hurts dad." 

"What hurts?"

"Eyes, really bad." 

"Okay okay it'll pass just keep them closed you're okay." He gave me his hand and I squeezed it hard. It hurt too bad. 

"It isn't passing."

"It will, it will just breathe and relax you're okay, i'm right here." 

Tears came to my eyes, it was unbearable. 

"Hey hey don't cry i'll get you painkillers yeah?" 

"No, stay here don't leave me." 

"I'm right here." 

The nurse got her painkillers and after a while, we transferred her into a room. She was sleeping and I closed my eyes on the chair just for a while. I was exhausted. 

A/n 

Hi, so i'm aware this update is really late and I apologize for that. But this is no good news the next update will be after 13th march. I have board exams and I want to focus on them without feeling guilty for not updating. I see all your messages and honestly, they mean a lot <3.
